Do any of the custom ROMS for the Atrix HD support tmobile wifi calling?
I would really like to know this too, or if there is any other way to get t-mobile wifi calling working on the atrix hd. I'm going with t-mobile and this would be great to have. Anyone?
Ever get an answer to this?

I have an Atrix Hd and a galaxy s3, im on TMO. my s3 is TMO, and atrix is att unlocked.
from messing around with my S3 and the roms they have there. WIFI calling is a tmo specific thing in the rom. the rom has to be based off a TMO rom. since atrix hd never came on tmo. it will be very difficult to implement it im sure, and with as little developer support atrix has, i wouldnt hold my breath.

Hey guys, just curious, as I'm having withdrawals from actually having a decent phone that doesn't make me want to use it as a hockey puck.
I have access to a tmobile Samsung galaxy s2, for a cheap price, if I were to unlock it, would it be capable of running on the Verizon network? Obviously with owning a d3, I have a sim card, would it work? Also, again out of pure curiosity, would an unlocked att phone work on our network?

It all depends on if the phones are capable of running on CDMA/EVDO. Do some research on the phones sorry I'm not much help

Google (your phone model) specs and see if the radio bands are ones that are supported by verizon.

No the SGS2 uses GSM and Verizon uses CDMA. Maybe someone would trade you phones?
Even if the phone has CDMA hardware like any Sprint phone, Verizon will only allow devices on their network if they are authorized for use on Verizon.
Sorry if this is a silly question, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere else. My carrier is Verizon, but I'm not sure how long or if it's coming to their stores or not.

These phones don't support CDMA.

Sv: Can an Xperia Z bought from Japan/UK be used on a US carrier?
You can only use on ATT ot TMo.

Thanks for explaining, I did go and read up on the different kinds of networks. Kind of a shame, I was really looking forward to using this phone and I don't think Sony would go out of their way to reconfigure their device and get it FCC tested now.

Nearly all international HSPA+ devices work fine on AT&T's HSPA+ network and MVNOs that use the same network, such as Straight Talk's bring-your-own-device SIM plans.
More and more international HSPA+ devices are now supporting AWS1700, required for T-Mobile HSPA in most areas.
Sony has not released a CDMA device in quite some time. However, Qualcomm's latest modem chipsets make doing so far more feasible than it has been in the past, so a Verizon variant is possible. However, a Verizon variant is going to be heavily locked down.
As long as you are on Verizon, you will be stuck with inferior locked down devices. I suggest leaving them for Straight Talk as soon as you can.
I have an extremely beneficial plan on verizon right now; unlimited data, texts and calls from a grandfather plan. My only concern with switching is losing the 4g network and speed (I live off tethering). The only competition I know is t-mobile. Does straight talk or an alternative carrier offer unlimited data at the moment? I have my fingers crossed for Google Wireless some year soon.

Hey guys,
I just picked up an Atrix HD and I plan on unlocking and using it on T-Mobile.
I did a search and couldn't find any info - is it possible to get T-mobile Wifi Calling working on this phone? I've heard that the app is device specific, but since we share the same chipset with the Galaxy SIII which has wifi calling, would it be possible to port it from that or something?
Thanks!
Are you talking about VOIP? Like vonnage?

I was referring to this:
http://t-mobile-coverage.t-mobile.com/4g-wireless-broadband-service
More details:
http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-1680#How_WiFi_Calling_works
I've read something about a kineto.apk as being the base of wifi calling, but I'm not sure if this is something doable.
Does nobody know if this is possible? Would the newly unlocked bootloader help with this?

To tell you the truth that is about 99% impossible at this moment. There are bounties for other devices that start from $1000 up to $10,000 to get this working on non tmobile devices so you do the math on how hard is to make this work.
Does anyone have T-Mobiles Wifi calling feature on their Atrix HD? I someone got it on their Samsung Infuse which is an At&T phone. I'm switching to T-mobile so i want to be able to use wifi calling.
I've asked this question before and didn't get any feedback.
I would definitely love to have it if someone has it working, but I think the answer is no

I would think the best route would be to port from the T-Mobile s3 since it has the same chipset, but I don't know nearly enough to make it happen...

The thing about that is that s3 is on T-Mobile and at&t so you would have to flash the T-Mobile s3 stock rom in order to get wifi calling. There's no atrix HD type phone on T-Mobile.

Hm yeah. I just meant that if somebody was going to try and port it, the s3 is probably the closest configuration T-Mobile device to ours, considering both have MSM8960 chipsets, dual core 1.5ghz krait, and Adreno 225 graphics. If someone wanted to port the Wi-Fi calling app alone to the AHD, the T-Mobile GS3 would probably be the best place to start (again, I'm no expert)

Your right. Sorry. They would basically have to strip down the firmware and implement it as a zip. I really hope someone figures it out. Apparently right now there's a WiFi calling enabling method for non T-Mobile phones but its only for gingerbread and under.

II have some weird issues.. i tried factory restoring and it doesnt help.. the radio switches from LTE to 3G and i get weird issues during the transition and im not even able to disable LTE (that i know of) so I can just keep a steady 3g connection. Plus I get an error trying to send text via hangouts on LTE ONLY, and for some odd reason i cant upload photos on facebook. I have a feeling that the verizon stock rom deosnt work well with tmobile network. Im not rooted or anything just plain stock. Is there any rom or flashing I can do to basically transform my verizon moto x to work like a real tmobile phone? or some similar procedure to make things work more fluent?
If i cant do anything like this, ill probably just sign up for verizon prepaid but id like to stay with tmobile if possible.. thanks!
There's a thread in the Droid Ultra general section that should help you out.
