Hi guys,
can you help me to find an easy way to unlock my Samsung Galaxy S5570 ? Currently it's running with Android 2.2.1 and I can't use it because of the sim- or netlock. :crying:
I thought about maybe the easiest way would be one of those Costum Roms.
1.Download the Costum Rom emanoN [ROM][Kernel] and put it one the SD
2.Restart phone with Home+On+lessLoud Buttons
3.Select the rom and install it
Would this procedure work without bricking the phone?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit:
Thank you all very much!! this was the sweet solution:
I unlocked by
1. SuperOneClick Root
2. Method 2
Takes five minutes and much easier than the dangerous and longtaking backup/firmwareupdate/backup/costumfirmware...
(Unluckily, I spend lots of hours with method 1 which didn't work^^ )

Hello, welcome to XDA lady !
Here's a dink :
1. Never flash a Custom ROM without upgrading to Android 2.3.x (Gingerbread)
2. Never flash a Custom ROM without custom recovery
3. Installing ROM isn't like installing programs on Windows.

Thank you for your answer Fauzan!
So you mean:
1.Make Costum Recovery with CWM
2.Find Android 2.3.6. , put it on SD, push the three Buttons, install it
3.Again a Recovery
4.Download Costum Rom, put it on SD, push the three Buttons, install it
Is this right ? And will this Costum Rom unlock my sim/netlock ?

May I ask which way is easier and shorter? I don't necessarily need a Costum Rom , just an Unlock.
And to which gingerbread 2.3.0 up to 2.3.7 is available?

Gingerbread Official from Samsung is available are 2.3.3 to 2.3.6
Unlock still need Gingerbread, Custom ROM still need Gingerbread.

The easiest way is...
1. Upgrade to GB 2.3.6
2. Upgrade your recovery to CWM (you need odin for both things)
3. Choose and install custom rom
they are always better than stock firmware cause they prerootet you can overclock and use ext easy!! I recomend you to use stock based custom rom like gingermod or more rom!!
Happy flashing

Rom is a custom firmware for your phone...
Like the OS is for a pc,custom firmwares are like OS for a phone...
and in order to install a custom rom you need to root a phone and install recovery...
so you must start off with rooting...
I would suggest you to search youtube for detailed video instructions

there is no such thing.
And why don't you try it for yourself? you will get to experience it first hand. And if your scared then don't use odin or cwm or even rooting because there are always risks involved in these.

The SGSII v8.1 patch u r talking about is jst a patch for the COmplete v8 ROM. it has recently been updated to v9 and it really is a gud ROM the Battery life is also better in the LAtest Release and it is almost stock based so u won't find A WHOLE LOT of UI changes on your ACe jst additions, and the PErformance is also gud.
other than this, you can try the MIracle ROM it is also a wonderful ROM bt as it is performance based, u can't expect a battery life of 1 day
As you roam around the forums you will learn slowly by trying and testing stuff.
Ohh and ACTUALLY, there is NO perfect ROM

In exactly this thread Chasmodo described the installation procedure very good. If I give you a step-by-step help it wouldn't be different from Chasmodo's.
And if this is too complicated or you do not have the energy or time to concentrate on it, you should stay on 4.0.4 and wait for the next official update to Jelly Bean.
As beginner who doesn't want to read you are in real danger to hard brick your device.
But maybe you don't even know the "speciality" of the N7000 with it's bricking danger.

Well as far as I know, you can't root your phone using "update.zip" if your phone is running Gingerbread.. you would either have to flash a rooted kernel or a rooted firmware using Odin... but you don't have to root it if you just want to upgrade to Jellybean.. just download the Indian Jellybean firmware (DULP8) and flash it with Odin or with Heimdall, then root it with the zip file - but for all that you need a Windows PC...

No dude as far as I know, a Galaxy S Advance running Gingerbread can't be rooted using the usual "update.zip" method (but I maybe wrong)... But it works when you upgrade to Jellybean... So why not directly upgrade to Jellybean?
And no, Odin is for Windows users only... you should use Heimdall if you are using a Mac... But I think Heimdall also works for Ubuntu and Windows as well.... Any ways here's the link to Heimdall... For more info, checkout this guide....
Or if you have a copy of Windows with you right now then you can use Bootcamp too right?
EDIT: Thanks for backing up Shaaan

Not all jellybean firmwares are laggy or buggy... the Indian firmware (DULP8) is quite smooth.. and if you flash a custom kernel like CoCore E 7.0 then your phone's performance will increase drastically... :good:
And in my opinion, Jellybean is far better than Gingerbread - but it consumes are bit more RAM and Battery than Gingerbread...

Its always better to follow the instructions mentioned on XDA.. Since these are likely to be safe and tested.... Stuffs mentioned on webpages aren't always safe or tested... Plus I did not see "i9070" in the list of compatible devices...
jellybean is not so bad.. been using if for a while now..
with only root and swap sdcard to internal as my modification..
i have two units of SG Advance..
At first I was worried too to upgrade to Jelly Bean, but after tried out a few rom, I think upgrading to Jelly Bean has been a good decision. Not going to gingerbread anymore.
:cries:
Me too, I want to root gb
But without the need to download another firmware for that, cause my internet is pretty slow (2kb/s)
So can anyone give me a detailed explanation for the root

Hello
Do i loose my warranty if i flash my kernel on JB because of lag problems
@balajinaik123: Yes. Rooting your phone and flashing (installing) anything that is not made my Samsung will void your warranty... But there's one more thing.. If your phone is still under warranty period and if you wish to claim it then simply Factory Reset your phone and/or flash Samsung's 4.1.2 firmware with Odin.. Doing that will remove Root Access or any Custom kernel you have installed.. Also make sure to keep your Binary Counter at Zero...
I did root using this method:
http://supergeekforum.org/how-to-ro...dvance-i9070-gingerbread-2-3-6-all-firmwares/
Since my firmware was LD1 already, I could make the process in a easy way
Just read carefully and you'll be fine!!
