If it's ok, are there other stock apps related to those two that should be uninstalled as well?
And would the time still appear in the status bar after removing those two?
Also, if it's ok to remove those, can you recommend some third party apps to replace them?
Thanks guys!!
Removing the stock calender is no problem, but the most calender apps are useing the android includet calender api and i don't know if these are working after removing the stock app. I think you must give it a try by saving the stock calender bevor you removing it.
There also some calenders with a own system saving calender notes like "Jorte"
Deleting the stock calendar is fine as long as you DO NOT delete calendar storage. I am not sure about deskclock.apk though. It might contain some important stuff regarding alarms, time in system, etc.

Hello everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing these problems:
I have my google agenda synced on the SGS, and am using an app called Log2Calendar to dump all calls and textmessages to a dedicaded calendar. This works fine and I can select the calendar in this app. Shows up fine from my desktop.
However, it does not show in my agenda on android. Reason being is that i cannot select it from the different calendars it syncs. There is another one I do not see, got 6 in total, 4 show up.
Been googling, but they are all talking about sportscalendars not being able to sync.
Any ideas? Tried deleting agenda + agenda storage, and a resync. But this did not help.
Pfff, been looking into this for weeks now, hence my thread. But now it works.
Delete agenda storage via settings -> applications -> agenda storage. Quick reboot before it can sync. And it should be fine after a resync. Strange bug though.

Have the sam Problem (with JPC Firmware).
Have tried this way but no success.
Still no tasks that ar created through third party apps ar synced.
This is VERY bad!!!!
Any further Ideas?
Hey there.
Yeah, in my search for an answer to my problem i did find an issue that stated this problem.
In all of android, the calendar "Tasks" is simply not synced. Find the issue in google bugsystem, star it so it'll get a higher priority.
Meanwhile: create a new calendar in gmail (from PC), and use that one with your third party apps. This should sync just fine.

This is, what i have done a few days ago.
I have created an new calender and set Log2calender (i use it to. It is a great App ) to sync with it.
Still the same prob.
All Tasks (Calls, Messages) appear in Device (Jorte, Touchcal; Stock Calendar) but ar not synced with Google
In the Froyo Dev Thread i have read, that Cal Sync with third Party Apps is still Buggy in the current Froyo (JPC) Beta.
Hope Samsung will fix this soon, because i really appreciate Froyo.
Meantime i have flashed JM8 and use this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723103
Superslim ROM Version.
It is amazing fast (Quadrant 2320) and everything works like a Charm.
Also the Sync with all Third Party Apps.
Sorry if these Qs have been answered before - I tried finding them using the search function for the better part of the afternoon/evening, but...
Are there any decent ROMs that either include the stock Samsung apps (Samsung IM, Email, etc.), or is there an easy(ish) way to load them on after the fact (ADB push/install)? I made a Titanium BU of the stock Samsung apps that shipped with the phone, but when I tried either restore App or Restore App+Data, I ended up with FCs on the apps. Does this have to do with a bad B/U, or is it because I backed them up on 2.1 and am trying to restore them on 2.2?
Also, I've noticed that I can't create SNS accounts on my phone anymore, and the "Integrated contact accounts" section of Accounts & Sync has no option to add accounts. All I have is the option to create "other" accounts. I liked the tighter feeling integration of having my accounts added as part of the ROM itself without needing to install the Facebook or Twitter apps, but I suppose I have to take what I can get.
Thanks!
Well, for whatever firmware your rom was made for, you can take a stock, deodexed version of that and start readding applications from that. That is what I've been using from a JPX stock on my phone for the last 2 weeks or so.....
I hate Touchwiz apps big time. S Planer is wack as f***, laggy and awfull to utilize. Is there a possibility to get rid of touchwiz apps and replace them by stock gingerbread apps (google calender, text messaging, etc.)?

yes you are absolutely right. Samsung calendar has an issue. It doesnt sync every entry on my google calendar.
+1 on getting back the original calendar
AFAIK, there is no standard AOSP calendar unless you want to tinker with hacked files and such.
I use Pocket Informant and it works very well. Cheap on the Amazon market and sometimes free.
did samsung rip the calendar totaly from the rom or is it makeable to make a shortcut to it?
i want to have something like the htc sense one.
the samsungs is awfull.
one of the reasons i bought a phone with such a big screen was, that i could see the whole week calendar with no scrolling.
first i tried Jorte as a calendar app..
now i found this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.alxb.calendardroid
I am also considering on the pure grid calendar, but could not get the 5x5 widget on without distortion.

I have an ATT Active running 4.4.2 and I uninstalled my stock calendar thinking I would stop the duplicate notifications. Unfortunately I learned that now my google calendar won't open and I can't sync it. I used TI backup to uninstall and then I restored calendar storage but I can't find my calendar apk to restore (don't know what happened to it). I have searched and downloaded Splanner apk and calendar provider apk's but I can't get the calendar's to open. I'm guessing the apk's I am finding aren't compatible with my phone? Can someone please help me and let me know what I need to reinstall just to get google calendar up and running so it can sync? I really depend on it for work and I'm struggling to keep track of my schedule without it.
Anyone? Really could use some help.

What about the Google Calendar app? I always install Google Calendar from the Play Store, and then use TiBu to uninstall the stock calendar app, I've never had any trouble doing this on several devices
Thank you for the reply. I installed the Google calendar but it won't open and I'll get calendar error messages at random while using the phone. I must have unistalled something else that doesn't allow Google calendar to work. Do you have any suggestions on what I should look for?
Little help please. I'm still stuck with no working calendar.
standalone calendar that works?
Somewhat off topic but is at least a basic calender that might work, but may not sync with google calendar.
Calender is one of the things that is not well defined as to what you need for it to work. I'm attempting to get some basic calender functionality without installing gapps framework. I have a TB Cyanogenmod account that may allow Android or Google Calender to work without a Google account?
After trying several calendar apps at f-droid without success, Jorte Calendar seems to work good as a standalone app for a sans gapps system.
Thanks for the reply. Is this calendar my last option? Is there no way, without wiping my phone and starting from scratch, to replace whatever apk's are missing? I would really like to just install what is missing and continue using the phone. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to get calendar working by replacing the apk's you deleted, we just need to know what apk's you deleted so we can send you the replacements.
Thanks for the quick response. As far as I can tell the apk that I am missing is the calendar apk. Is there a way to compare the apk's that I have compared to what I should have? Thanks again.

Google Calender 5.0 .apk:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxnEA1OTspCUTWRJQ2lIRkpIaEE/view?usp=sharing
Thanks for the apk. Unfortunately I keep having the same problem as before when I downloaded Google calendar. When I try to open calendar I get "Unfortunately calendar has stopped" and I also get the same error message for Exchange services simultaneously. Does this give any clues as to what might be missing?
I had similar issue as well when I was uninstalling stuff. After a couple months of not having a properly functioning calender I tried out Today Calender Pro when it was on sale. It works great. Might be worth a shot.

You could try opening the app details and deleting it's data. That may fix Exchange services at least, but didn't fix google calendar for me. I'm in the same boat as you, just not dependent on syncing with google.
If you have a good recovery option, you can make a backup and try flashing gapps again:

Just wondering if you anyone can confirm how "Huawei Contacts" can be disabled or removed without any issues. I have disabled it and tried alternative contacts apps like Exdialer, DW Contacts & Phone ....however, editing contacts or creating a new one does not work.
The reason I want to disable it as it may be one of cause of power drain on this phone. It has improved now after trying several issues like formatting sdcard, updating Google Play services, disabling other apps, etc.
Thanks,
B
Have you tried Gapps ? nandroid before ...and please report after
Thanks Vladi, I tend to disable all unnecessary Google apps even Google Play Having installed Google Contacts manually it works but forces you to save your contacts to the cloud (i.e. no local acount options). However, found a solution although not ideal - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fjsoft.mylocalaccount&hl=en (I use fjsoft Phone Manager in any way to install apps, etc). It also cannot import or export vcf file.
Thanks
Tried with Titanium?
How can I replace the huawei dialer with google app? and I want to use google contacts app as default as well.
