if you want it to have lesser lag try adding some tweaks then OC. but that will cost you battery.
so for me performace = battery.
if you want longer battery life you can't have that performance.
Search Android development for scripts and tweaks.
You can find one in my signature.
Maybe some scripts will work,But battery is a big problem.

Flash a Kernel which have a battery extender then go to setting->Leistung(Excuse me but I dont know what Leistung is in english)->CPU Settings->Max. CPU Frequenzy to 825 MGhz.Because of the Battery extender it won't take tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
much battery life.

Hi mayhem
I believe that good battery life and no lags at the same time, perhaps the samsung stock rom keep it simple
Custom rom's are recommended when you want more than that
Download ds battery saver from play store for battery.

Our phones are designed in such a way that the our phone's processor will run at more speed only when it is necessary..there are many reasons main reasons being
1) More speed=more battery consumption
2) More speed=more heat generated..continuosly if the processor is running @ max speed, more heat will b generated & it may harm your phone.
So, it is always good if the phone is running at low speeds for smaller processes & if it goes to deep sleep when u lock ur phone's screen..
200 is good. I even want my note to automatically go into to deep sleep everytime I press the power key.

hey i would like to extend battry life how could i do that.
this is what came into my mind
1 new battery - but i can't find one does anyone know one that could fit ?
2 Rom and kernel - could this help ?
3 underclocking - this makes me sad it laggy enough allready
I bought a new battery through Amazon.
Just search for "samsung galaxy ace battery"
And try to use stock-based roms, they have longest battery life.

well i found a 1600mah battery compared to the 1350mah battery that's already in there does it make a big difference?
Edit: found a 2450mah it has good ratings so I'll go with that one BTW I installed a cm10.1 based ROM android 4.2.1 so my battery is in pain

The battery life on my girlfriends note is rather poor, I'm not sure how the kernel work with the note but she's currently running jellybam. Can anyone suggests some energy efficient ROMs ?

It depends on how you define poor.
There's the usual things to do, you can undervolt to help, throttle the top end, get better battery stats to check for wake locks, make sure gps /wifi /bluetooth /sync aren't on when you don't need them. Turn down screen brightness as that probably the biggest drain on battery, so using apps with light background isn't great.
You can use different governor / scheduler combo. Some people say pegasusq /sio is a good one. Some apps help either by turning off services you don't need while your not using your phone or by adding tweaks to help efficiency.
Use search for battery tips as there's a lot of information out there.
That said there's always the old gem of 'new battery' depending on how old her note is. Remember there are larger than 2500mAh batteries out there, although above a certain point the battery gets thick and comes with a new back to help contain it.
Hope that helps.
