[Q] My 32GB SD will not partion - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am currently using the cyanogenMod 10.1 (4.2.1) kernel version 2.6.37.6-jellybean+ [email protected] #2.
I tired to partition my 32gb sd card by 4gb. After i partitoned it and went to settings and storage a seen that a 25gb in external memory but will only 178mb in internal memory why is my partition not working and could anyone tell me how to get it to work please. Partitioned it by using clock mod recovery v5

Hi you must install link2sd app
Only partition sdcard doesn`t work the app creat a script to init.d folder and cwm 5 partitioned sdcard only to ext3, if you want ext4 use px recovery or on windows magic partition manager with sdcard reader on other side there are scripts like to amarullz script or cronmod which "increase"internal memory but they doesn't work at now

[Q] external sdcard ext partition

I've just bought my i9000, rooted it and flashed latest CM9 nightly. I've installed some games that are big (300mb+ each) and now I am getting kinda low both on Internal Storage (500mb) and on the Usb storage (1.1GB) (moved some of these apps to the "internal sdcard"). If I buy an external sdcard 8GB Class 10 can I make an ext4 partition on it, would it be recognized in the rom so I can use that sdcard for apps only ?
Ty in advance
I think it should work with apps2sd on every phone with every cm.

[Q] samsung galaxy mini 5570i memory problem

hi,
i have the galaxy mini 5570i phone
the internal memory is 160 mb
and i added sd card with 2 gb.
i received the massage "out of memory" all the time, even when i download only a few apps.
if the memory is full i even cant receive sms massages.
is there an option to re-size the internal memory ? or to direct the app to save on the sd card ?
i tried to move apps from phone to sd with "force2sd"/""move2sd"/ "apps2sd" and it doesn't help,
thank you very much for your help!
you should first partition your sdcard with around 512mb ext4 secondary partition
then you can you app like link2sd or s2e to move apps to external sd
hi
Thank you for your response
Do you have a how-to guide "partition your sdcard with around 512mb ext4 secondary partition "?

Search it up either on Google or on xda. There are tons of guides out there.

you can search in youtube "Cách phân vùng ext2 thẻ nhớ" and follow it
or you install ClockworkMod recovery
chose Recovery => advanced => Partition SD card
if sdcard have
1G => 128mb
2G =>256mb
4g=>512mb
8g=>1G
and the partition 2 is swap
you can chose 128 or 256
reboot and check in pc
then install s2e and enjoy
sr i can't post link ^^!

[Q]Swap and app2sd

Hi!
Could You give me tutorial how to make swap and app2sd on SDE?
I think I have to make partitions. First with swap. And now one partition ext4 and there will be app2sd and my files or two partitions-first with app2sd and second with my files?
My card is 10class and 8gb
Thanks

1. FAT32 (for you own files - music, pictures etc.)
2. ext4
3. swap
create them in this order.
cwm can do that.
format sd
create partition
swap....
wait...reboot
in terminal emulator.
type
su
a2sd xdata

enjoy.

To make partitions on your SD follow these steps.
1.Make a backup of your SD.
2.Enter CWM recovery.
3.Go to advanced->Partition SD card.
Now it will ask you for sizes of A2SD and SWAP.
Set them as you want.
Its Done...
NOTEartitioning the SD will erase all the data on your SD card..
Difference between Link2SD and Apps2SD
Hi Guys,
I just wanted know the difference between Link2SD and Apps2SD.
When I used Apps2SD all my user application are moved automatically to SD Card. I don't have a choice to select the app to be moved to SD.
where in in Link 2Sd I have an option to move selectively.
more over when tried apps2sd on ICS ROM ( MiniCM9.0.4 ) it wont work. many forums says the apps2sd scripts are not supported in ICS due to changes of implementation of OS.
so which one is better ? why ?
Secondly which iotion is beeter for swap ?
Swap partition or Swap File
1. I know Swap partition allows to use even if phone is connected to PC where as swapfile will dismounted if you connect ot PC.
but if I use ReadaheadKB setting of SD card in devices section swap file will perform more faster ( as it was cached partially) vs. swap partion
( ReadAheadKB helps to perform sequential reads more faster )
even if SD card wear & tear is more with SD card. th cost for SD cards are down so drastically that one can afford the loss of SD card ( laugh: data on SD should be backed up frequently :laugh:
Cheers!

What filesystem is on your 2nd partition of the SD card? Make sure you select the correct filesystem in Link2SD when you create the mount script.
Mount the 2nd partition of your SD Card and transfer a file to it to make sure its been set up properly then delete the file.
Try repartitioning the SD card with ClockWorkMod Recovery, it does a better job of partitioning and creating filesystems on flash memory than partitioning tools meant for rotating storage.
Repartition using a different filesystem, when I setup Link2SD the only one that I could get to work was FAT32 but since you have the Razodroid ROM which includes Rafael's kernel I would have thought any FAT or ext filesystem would have worked. Incidentally before I got it working I was getting a similar error regarding "Mount script cannot be created" IIRC.
Hi i used ext4, but i just can make a link , when i check the capacity show me 200Mb total memory

So it's working then or not?
Link2SD works by basically fooling Android into believing an app is on internal memory when its on the SD card. It does this by moving files to the SD card and then creating a link to them in internal memory. So you won't see an increase in internal memory capacity by using Link2SD. However when you link an app with Link2SD you will free up space in the internal memory which allows you to install far more apps.
Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1955422
, but read carefuly the instructions !!!

RazoDroid v2.5 build version has had Link2SD removed i assume this was done for a reason as its a popular app, it might be worth checking out the thread to see if they mention why. Just a thought have you checked to make sure that both Partitions are primary?
1 word link2sd
