No use for OTA JB - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Most of the stock rom users like me already have most features of JB on ICS. So i dont think now JB release will make a much difference for me atleast. Just a thought. So i have backed up my ics in case after the update i want to go back..... JB is sounding more like a gimmick now.

Difference Between Custom Rom And Stock

Hey Guys
So Listen I Have The CM9 Paranoidandroid V0.4 And I Started Hearing About The Official ICS Coming From Samsung The Official So What Do You Think Should I Switch To The Stock And Try The Samsung Firmware Or Should I Stay On Paranoidandroid Which Is Better I Cant Say Please Help Me
Cm9 is ics more like intended, paranoid is same with tweaksettings ability.
Stock is how Samsung intended it. Which means looks practically as previous version roms lol

Its basically of your choice many peoples love touhwiz and more hate it but stock roms are very stable than any other rom
Well in touchwiz you can use:
1.full spen functionality
2.wifi direct
3.and some minor things

Just get urself outta this cm9ahit buddy..dunno y people go for it...it's too risky ****...and when u have really nice stock based roms like crash ics and chekrom gb why go for cm9??bwsides cm9 has microphone bug and paranoid is notorious for nonfunctionality of s pen..

If you like touchwizz, then go for stock, that's the only real benefit. There are a lot of problems with stock ics, superbrick bug that could damage your device, wifi problems, general degradation over time.
CM roms including paranoid are as ics was meant to be and very stable. I have no idea what the guy above means by risks? There aren't any, it's safer than stock.
Like I say it comes down to touchwizz vs stock whichever you prefer.

[Q] Where I can find the most stable CM version for my smartphone

I own Samsung Galaxy Mini device with Android 2.3.6 version, already rooted, but I'd like to upgrade it to ICS by a stable CyanogenMod release. I could not find the right, most stable download for my Samsung Galaxy Mini device, can you redirect me to the right one and specify any bugs that I may experience and whether there's something that doesn't work (Camera, Wifi, or ...) with links to any fixes I can install to jump those issues there.
You don't search like everyone :banghead::banghead: go to original dev and you'll find it

go there and you can choose one of them. i prefer the cm7 because it didn't have any noticeable bug, it fast, and it battery friendly.

So what are the issues in Cm9 and Cm10 releases. How I can get back to Stock rom, is that by an Nandroid backup or so and how do I make it then use it to revert back ?
Sorry if I'm asking too much questions but I just want to respond to all the general questions in a single thread that will become an online resource for the newbies who may have the same doubts about it .

On new BL? Go with the one Mivv calls Beta 7.
PAC is 4.2.2 and has nice features, but it is laggy as hell rofl.
My advise: Wait till Tony & Pengus has finalized their project and released a 4.2.2 ROM, you won't find anything better than that. Guaranteed.
Advice 2: Don't ask for ETA!!

The normal CM10.1 (e.g. Temaseks) works fine with exchange. The Cm10 from pengus should work well also.
I am on teamseks (old Bl) with Exchange 2007 and everything is ok
Thread closed. There is no such thing as the most stable ROM. Please go to development section and make your choice

I'm an advocate for the best rom, so:
Don't use ICS... simple as that... It uses way too much memory, and although the rom is FASTER than any GB rom, it scores close to 2800-2900 in Antutu, compared to 2500-2600 for stock GB, the speed advantage dissapears very fast when the RAM is full (usually you work with 100 -90 MB) and the constant swapping makes the device unusable... you could get away for some time by using a cleaned (custom) rom, but... it's more of the same actually!
I tried custom kernels, some custom roms, but are all the same, recovery is a pain in the ass to get it installed so... yeah... don't use it or wait for 30D, maybe it's better!
As you are new to the device, my advice is better grounded by the fact that ICS is more strict security wise and you could get a brick in more ways than GB, if you update to stock ICS, and install a recovery, you get a brick and so on... try to know the device or read very very well before flashing a ICS rom, or better use only nandroid backups that you flash from your custom recovery...

GT9500 system dump.

Chance of getting the i9500 ROM ported over here is kinda minimal. I don't think anyone would take time to port a Samsung ROM. We already got stock Android 4.2.2, CM10,1, Liquidsmooth, PA 3.15. So yeah, my guess is that the chance of getting the 4.2 Samsung ROM ported over to the i9305 is minimal.
Really? There are plenty of modded sammy 4.1 roms. Surely someone would take on the task...
I use my video out a lot and as far as I know none of the AOSP roms support that.
Suppose I'll have to wait for Samsung to update the 9305....
Thanks
