Google play store - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I rooted a Kindle fire. Added Google framework. Put vending. Apk in system/app folder. I changed permissions. And installed it (I can now download apps and it goes nicely in the app manager for kindle). I tried to install gplay as the final step I get the error application not installed. I do not have a shortcut to get to Google play store. For me to run Google play store. I need to go in system/app directory reinstall vending. Apk and then I can go in app store immediately. Can someone tell me how to get a shortcut for this.

Google Play Music won't install

I can't get google play music to install. At first I was getting an error that the previous package was not signed. Please uninstall previous version. But I could never find it in my apps to uninstall. I manually deleted music.apk from system/app folder. Now I get an error that says the application is already installed but I can't find it anywhere. How can I manually remove this app without have to wipe my Xoom?

You uninstalled the basic music app. Not qoogle play music.
If you don't use the basic android music app, I'd just leave it out. With a file explorer like Root Explorer, go to data/app and find the Google music app. That is the one you need to remove. Delete the apk file and then go to Google play and install Google music. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the response. I went there, but I don't have a apk for music or google play music
Any other thoughts?

So I have google play music on my phone also, and I cannot find an apk for that either in data/app. Could there be another location for the file?
Do you have a tibu for your tablet?
I cannot think of any other location
Are you running ICS?
If so you might have Google music disabled.
You can find it in all apps in settings on the bottom of the list.
If that's not the case, verify that it is deleted from system/app and data/app. The file name is com.google.android.music-1.apk

I know this thread is over 3 months old, but I ran into this same issue on my Galaxy Nexus after updating the custom rom I am running. To fix it I downloaded the Google Play Music app from here, renamed it to com.google.android.music-1.apk, then used my file manager app (File Expert) to copy it from my Download folder to the /data/app directory. After changing the permissions on the APK to match the others in the same directory, I rebooted my phone to a working Play Music application. Hopefully this helps someone who also experiences this problem.

Google market/play store HELP! Running Eclipse 2.2.1

So I just flashed this rom a little while ago. I like it. Its smooth and everything BUT my google market was force closing for a little while until I cleared the data/cache. That fixed the force close.
What I am wondering here is if the google play store will update from the market like it would on a stock rom? or How do I go about getting the play store over the google market...??? Anyone else having a similar problem with it?
I don't know if this is the correct answer or not, but it is what I did. I backed up Play Store in TiBu, switched to Eclipse and restored it from there. Otherwise mine did not update automatically.
Can someone post the google play apk

When you open the market it should automatically update to play
first time I installed Eclipse it did not update. Second time I installed it it did. Third time it did not. Go figure.

Someone, please upload the apk
Any idea what the APK name is? I looked in system/app but nothing jumped out at me... Or maybe the following link will help?

Never mind! I had to use Root Explorer (first app I paid for) to find it. Goes in /data/app directory. Hope that works for you...
Actually you should just take the .apk file and place it in /system/apps using root explore or es file explore granted root access. Once you place it in the /system/apps folder and replace the current one do a power down then reboot. When phone gets reboot click on new Google Play icon and agree then all done.

[APP][4.0+] Google Ears/Sound Search

This is the Google Ears/Sound Search for Google Play app from Play Store.
The Original app DOES NOT WORK on ARMv6 devices so i made so workaround to get it work with ARMv6..
Step 1- Download the Google Ears/Sound Search app and the libvorbisencoder.so lib file(extract it from the rar).
Step 2- Push the Google Ears/Sound Search app to system\app and set permissions to rw-r-r and push the libvorbisencoder.so to system\lib set permissions to rw-r-r. Reboot. After booting, it will not be shown in your app drawer, but there is a solution for that.
Step 3- Install titanium backup, go to backup\restore, select Sound Search and defrost it.
DONE! Now, it will show in your app drawer.

[Q] Google Play store on rooted KFHD Crash

I have just rooted my kindle fire, and i was looking in to getting the Play Store...
I followed Stopxwatch's instructionls, but I've had a few issues:
1. I cant move the files to the /system/app folder, and I cant edit them (THEY DID INSTALL SUCCESSFULLYTHOUGH)
2. The Market without the updated play store(The older market, not the play store) works, but crashes when ever I try to download an app.. (I DID reboot my kindle after installing the vending.apk file, and before opening the the app)
3. When I updated the market to the latest play store, the store crashes.. I've tried rebooting multiple times, but it doesnt seem to work.
Can someone please upload the latest Vending.apk file and Gplay file for me
It will not work without moving to system...
Explain why you can't move them?
If you just can't access system you need to give your file manager root access...
I like es file explorer the root options are in settings to root settings and check all
