[Q] How to uninstall a launcher? - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do I uninstall a launcher from my KFHD? I want to uninstall Go Launcher as I just downloaded Go Launcher HD but in the apps list there is no option to uninstall nor on gplay?

How did you install it? If throught some root explorer, so simply removed edt.apk from system/app.
I installed it the zip from sd in CWM

What do you mean how?
Just tap it and then tap Uninstall..

I UnInstalled My google play By Titanium Backup & Now I Download it and install but it force close and cant open
whats the problem?
how can I fix this app?

Yes it'll work if you install it as a system app...
Make sure to change the permissions too...

Long press Play Store

Select 'Convert to system app'

how do i backup paid apps for the purpose of sideloading on my kindle fire hd? i've already sideloaded a few apps however i am unable to backup my paid apps (and am not about to pay for them again on the amazon market) TIA

Click the manage apps tab
Press and hold on the app you want to back up
Pick "backup"
Saved too sdcard/backups

How to replace default apps with Google Play Apps?

I've been wondering, how could i replace all that default Samsung apps with beautiful Google Play Apps *-* Well like changing the default music player with Google Music app, more examples like that one. Could someone please help me with that? Thanks.

If you do not undestand, you read then. System apps are in root: system/app. Most probably your system is not deodexed, so with apk file comes one .odex file. You need to remove both before you change it with new version.

If it is on play store, just install it. No need to push in system.
It's because i dont like the default Samsung Apps and i'd like to replace them, to not waste space and whenever i do a factory reset, i'd want the apps to stay there.

Install apps, look for them in data/app. And cut it to system/app. You need root.

As I remember no. But app names are not like in system. It is something like com.something.app. And I am not sure if it will work if you just put it in system/app. Try and see if it works like that.

Install it again, and uninstall again, reboot. Tap on the icon and hold, it should show "remove from device".

Well after reboot for another app doing what i was talking about, the app i uninstalled was back on the carousel, the cloud said it was installed, but the app itself would not open. I am rooted so i went and checked "/data/app" and it was not there. Please help me.

Im not sure if I want to do a factory reset because then i lose everything.
EDIT: I went and did a factory reset because the kindle updated to 7.4.1 anyways and I lost my root. Thanks.
