I earlier installed a Rom from July and it worked just fine until I flashed the latest on last Friday, the 4th. Then I start to get FC for gmail. I flashed the latest available gapps. 4/29. Google play was installed with the flash, but I had to download gmail from market. Gtalk works just fine.
Any suggestions? solutions?
Thanks,

Try this : go to settings > accounts & sync click on your gmail account and make sure that gmail is checked.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

I recently updated to CyanogenMod 4.2.8 and installed the fixed version of Google Maps (found here http://www.androidspin.com/forum/index.php?f=179&t=72&rb_v=viewtopic) and followed the directions completely, now I have no more Google Maps, it doesn't show up as installed in my Market Downloads and when I try to re-download it, it gives me the installation error.
Any help is appreciated

Those instructions don't apply to the 4.2.8 CM ROM, at least I didn't have to go that route when I finally got 4.2.8 installed and booting. I was able to download and install google maps 3.3.1 from the marketplace without any issues.
And what install error are you getting?
Now if I could get the voice activated navigation stuff working, I'd be even happier.
I am having the same issue. I installed cyan's latest update and then flashed wes's 9r1 and my google maps is gone. When I tried downloading it from the marketplace it downloaded fine but hung up on the install... said "incompatable update"... any ideas?
I finally got it figured out... don't remember how... reflashed an old cyan rom and tried to down load it again... worked... maps are back!

This is what prevents me from DL the latest Cyanogen. I'm thankful for a custom rom but I rely on Google Nav too much to potentially not having it work.

I cleared cache, signout and sign in and tried with diferent apps and multiple times but since yesterday but problem still... what can I do?

hey guys im currently using this version of gapps http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/?rom=banks&device=gapps It does not come with gmail so i have downloaded the latest version from the play store. The version from the play store does not come with exchange so i have also downloaded this addon http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...ge-services-6-5-1669963-android-apk-download/. When i try adding my email it keeps giving me an exchange FC error. I have tried to clear cache and that does not work. The Full version of Gapps did not have this problem because the gmail came with exchange.

I'm having the exact same problem. I have found no solution but as you mention, to use the full gapps version. Very odd.
Just use full gapps. Cut down gapps miss lots of functions and for what benefit?

Here are the steps I did to get it working.
Downloaded benzo-gapps-5.1-20150319-signed.zip also the latest euphoria Rom.
Went on apkmirror and download com.google.android.gm.exchange-6.5-1533254-500065-minAPI14.apk (exchange Gmail apk) apk will says there's a newer version but that one worked.
Flashed the Rom thru trwp then benzo gapps, then installed the apk worked perfectly for me.
