Hi Guys,
I have a HTC HD7 with Deepshining ROM, and from the first minute of HD7 ownership the in-call volume has been really low.
Eventhough I set it to the max (10/10) it's still really low, feels like I would have to turn it up to 20 to make it OK sometimes. System volume goes up to 30/30 but in-call is only 10/10.
What makes it even worse, that my mother also has an HD7, and hers seem to be even worse...
Is there a registry hack which could help with this annoying problem?
Thanks ahead for your help!
Regards,
Tibi
Any clue guys? I'm even thinking about changing my phone because of this
I have no such problems.
I'm using Dynamics 2.0 ROM.

I'm flashing Dynamics 2.0 onto the phone at the moment. Will see if it improves the in-call volume or not.
Could this call volume issue be radio version related? Or is that an absolute different thing?

Before any of you SR members scold me - YES! I have searched myself and can't find an answer...
The volume, specifically in SPEAKERPHONE and EARPIECE is too low for my aging ears. I need it louder. I have tried th following:
the reg hack that changes the init vol and speaker levels from 4/1 to 10/10 - in wm 6.1, however, the init vol always reverts back to 4 ater a reboot or shutoff.
I cant seem to be ablte t permenently increase my volumes on ATT's new 6.1 Rom that I got from the HTC site - Help please...
Try this.
it's an audio boost patch that i downloaded from this forum.
And it works for me.
I'm using ATT Tile with WM6.1 HTC ROm
I hope this works for you too.
Hello, I am having this same problem , but only with the earpiece volume on the phone I posted a thread however no response...I would like to try the audio booster and or changing the settings from 4/1 to 10/10 can you guys give me a hand on how to complete those tweaks? My earpiece volume is soooo low on the phone I have to use speaker or a bluetooth headset just to use the phone. Thank You in advance.
Alright, I just switched from the official HTC Windows 6.1 mobile ROM to Dutty's 6.1 Hybrid from 4-29-08. I love this ROM. MMS works, GPS lock time is good, no freezing, no bloatware, and the battery life has gone up ten fold.
There is one problem, though, and it's that I can't seem to adjust my phone volume. I first noticed it when using my earpiece. It's pretty much locked to one volume. The volume change button on the earpiece wouldn't work, and there is also no change when I try to adjust the in call volume on the phone. This is kind of important because I don't hear very well and need a higher volume.
Anyone heard of this or know what may be causing it?
HI All,
I've noticed for some time now that before I flash a new ROM, when I go back to stock JF6 the audio in the boot up screen will blow your doors off. After flashing CWM, the audio is there but it is must less pronounced. I've also noticed that while using the speakerphone or the earpiece during regular calls, I struggle to hear the caller on the other end. It's fine before I flash CWM.
Anyone run into this before and if so, what can be done about it?
Thanks in advance!
Dan
I too have been wondering about the volume. I thought it was the rom I was running. I'm currently on phoenix 4.5 with firebird 2 v0.7 kernel. It seems like my volume is lower when I call another cell but fine if I call a land line.

Fix for Low Ear Peice abd Speaker Volume
I am not a programmer but I was wondering with all the talent on this site why is it impossible to have a fix for the terrible in-call volume the Captivate has. I have tried the settings in the service menus, but havent seen anything worth while.
Non of those settings stay past a reboot anyway.
The phones hardware is able to output the louder sound, I dont understand why we cant fix the low in-call volume on the earpeice and the speaker phone?
HELP!!!!!!
this post beat you by a few hours and is a little more specific/accurately worded (your post isnt a fix)

Thread merged with a similar one. I think the poster above U is asking a question (interrogative icon) and not stating he is posting a fix.
Cheers,
I noticed that it's CWM that is killing the audio (for me at least) before I flash a new ROM.
Hello
I got one Nexus One with last oficial update.
When I used the audio cable or the bluetooth the sound is OK, but when I use the phone directly on my ear, the sound is too low... Can anyone help???
cyanogen ROM has the audio boost which makes a world of difference. you really need to just flash a kernel with the audio hack enabled.
But is this a normal problem from Nexus One? Or it´s better to send it to warranty?

Its normal for most of us. I need a ROM/Kernel with the Audio Boost too, but some people say they don't.
I have the same issue since I picked mine up when froyo came out. I deal with it since i don't make many calls. If it is too loud to hear a call I just use speaker phone (maybe adjust the volume and hold it backwards up to my ear even). Bluetooth and speaker phone seem fine. However I am considering loading Cyanogenmod 7 once there is a final build.
You can use the DSP Manager and boost treble, HTC doesn't like bass like nokia

its basically normal. just about all HTC phones come with audio that is too low out of the box. the audio boost hack originally made it so loud that over 50% volume would blow out your ear hole. then they lowered it slightly to make it about perfect.
stock volume will always be low and there's nothing you can do about it without installing the kernel with audio boost.
Many thanks to all!
I will use a cable audio, its the best....
Regards!
Can anyone suggest any 'good' solution? kernel or otherwise to fix this $#@$# 'bug' of low in-call volume in Nexus One??
Would really appreciate all the help!
So guys, i searched for this problem in several threads but nothing seems to help me to solve it.
Here is the problem.
Since i rooted my Htc One (E 11) i noticed that i can't use the max volume on CM/AOSP/PA roms because my speakers begins to sound distorted (like the audio is overpumped).
I made several tests with different roms (no audio mods indeed) but the result was the same.
Someone suggested me my HTC speakers were damaged but i think it is impossible because when i use a Stock based rom (ViperOne, Elegancia, Revolution HD etc.) my speaker are simply PERFECT at max volume, even if i use Sound mods.
I really would like to know what is the problem and IF i can solve it because i would love to use CM/AOSP/PA Roms...not only stock.
Thank you.

I have the same issue running 4.3. I keep mine turned down a little, so it's not distorting, and still seems loud enough. I think these roms actually allow the sound to be much louder. But I could be wrong, I'm not a dev or anything
Thanks for your answer. At least I know my speakers are ok ahaah
