[Q] [Suspected bug] Voodoo sound v1 - LG Optimus 2x

Hey guys, I am new to here so i could not post on the dedicated thread created by supercurio.
I am using P990 and have just flashed a voodoo-powered kernel on it, after that i downloaded voodoo sound from Google Play.
The sound was nice, but a Volume Bug comes along.
Here's my settings
- Kernel: 2.6.32.55-cyanogenmod [email protected] #1 (which i downloaded from XDA)
- ROM: official CM 7.2
- Voodoo setting: volume limit set at -25dB, smart amplifier doesn't matter.
The bug happens when:
Step 1) Stop all music (No matter which player using, I had tried the original android and Poweramp)
Step 2) Go to launcher homepage
Step 3) Use the physical volume button to adjust the loudness
Step 4) Go back to music player, play!
Step 5) BUG COME, the volume is extremely high!!!!!Sound like at -10dB, but i set limit to -25dB
Step 6) Press volume- once, the volume returns to normal level (max at -25dB)
Thanks all for your attention, I could not say for sure it is a bug. Let me know if it is only my phone's problem.

Also when a notification sound is played the volume is set to maximum.
Has been there forever.
My workaround:
Set phone to silent when listening to music.

[Q] Volume too loud

Quick question...
As the title suggests, my device's lowest volume setting is still too loud if I want to listen to something in the background or want to take a snooze. Is there a way to either add more volume levels or lower the value of the levels? I'm running JPK and it's rooted.
Cheers.
download and install this

it should work with the BETA froyo
Thanks, but I already have Sound Manager installed, which does the same thing as Audio Manager, but has a cleaner interface and more control options. The problem is that neither of them do what I want... the lowest volume is still too loud.
I need to somehow adjust the increment value in code or add more increments to give me finer control.
Did you ever receive an answer on your volume issue. I have a galaxy 4G with the same issue and no one has answers?
Use voodoo control app from market, it adjust the analog amplifier.

Yes voodoo would be the best for you its just amazing....install it and you will love it....it makes your phone to the best mp3-player you can buy for money
Yep, use a kernel with voodoo sound. Or buy Supercurio's app in the market and support his work. The app gives you the option to adjust the analog gain, if the volume is too loud all you have to do is lower the gain and problem solved

Mp3's have terrible sound, you should consider ripping/downloading your music in .flac .

Volume boost

Hello dear friends,
I was wondering if it is possible to have some kind of volume boost on the Galaxy note. Because sometimes I just cant hear people while talking on the phone ( without headset) while the volume of random notifications is blasting.
So i want to be able to set a higher max if it's possible, can ayone let me know how please
I am using this app.volume boost : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.TEST.android.lvh&hl=it,But other you can find the marcket
You can try DSP Manager or Equalizer available on the Play store If you are running ICS then also change the Music Effect in the Settings/Sound menu accordingly.

What ROM you are running?
Many JB kernels have In-Call Volume options in Advanced settings.
You can't increase the volume above build-in amplifier/speaker limits.

If music plays fine, then your speaker is good. You have 3 more things to check:
- What is notification and ringtones volume settings level? Set all sliders to max.
(you probably did)
- Is Ascending Ringtone (in Interface > Sound) enabled? Check Ringing Start Volume and Increase Interval settings.
(set about 40-50% volume for Ringing Start and 2sec for Increase Interval)
- What files you use for notification and ringtone? Some mp3 files are just recorded with low volume level.
(your problem most likely, try with default sounds and find something louder and high pitched)

[GUIDE] headphone volume boost / increase / fix (both ROOT/noroot)

Hi,
-ROOT
if you have root
1. Install QUICKEDIT (free from play store)
2. Open file: /vendor/etc/mixer_paths.xml
3. Search for HPHL/HPHR values (first screenshot) and change the value to 20
4. Search for RX1 digital volume (and RX2... Like on attached screenshots) and change values to 86-88. Dont change values any higher for safety reasons
5. SAVE file, exit Quickedit
6. REBOOT
7. enjoy!

Tested on redmi note 7 miui 11, android 10/ aosp roms also
-NOROOT
1. Open settings on phone
2. Set "Japan" in region settings
3. DONE! open any music player and enjoy
No root or app or restart needed.
Tested on redmi note 7, eu version, miui 10

No, this values only changes volume gain via 3,5 jack for headphones. So this will not work for Bluetooth /speaker (internal or external).
If you connect phone via line-in cable to car/speaker aux input, volume will be boosted
Thanks
thanks this solution
Why is Japan louder by default?
Maybe so that the shutter sound will still be heard through the headphones?
Thanks Japan.
I got root on my stock rom MIUI 12.02. I changed the values as recommended (even raised RX1 and 2 to 94) but there is no difference. Still too low volume.
How i can only boost earpiece in-call volume manual with edit vendor/etc/mixer_paths.xml, what i need to do ?
On lineage os 17.1 in-call volume is very low.

Android One /Android 9: sound volume "precheck"

In my old Android 7 device I could set the alarm volume without "sound check". Now, in Xiaomi A3 (Android One / Android 9), when I move the slider for any sound volume control (media, call, ring, alarm) I can hear the currently set sound level every time it's changed (in Settings=>Sound). Why is that? I perfectly remember the perception of every volume level. I don't need this sound check all the time, especially in quiet environments. Why was it (sound "precheck") changed without an option to be disabled? Am J missing something?
