Is there any way to disable boot animations both for ROM and kernel to speed up the boot times.
Searched a lot of threads and made the changes but all in vain
1. Tweaked build,prop added
debug.sf.nobootanimation=1
ro.kernel.android.bootanim=0
2. Removed bootanimation.zip for system/media.but surprisingly after reboot i am able to see this again.
Nothing helped. Is there any thing that needs to be done ??

Anyone who wants to disable Rom boot animation(not kernel) just take a random zip file rename it as bootanimation.zip & place it in system /media & there will be black screen while booting(because system can't read that)
No boot animation
Working on my W8
Hit thanks if problem solved

To disable kernel bootlogo/bootanimation you have to edit ramdisk.
In most of the cases bootlogo is /initlogo.rle and bootanimation is /res/logo.zip
Added to the database using PHPMYADMIN

thanks feherneoh..i wil check that.

This is my latest android boot animation.
There are two versions.
One with intro and loop
One with the whole animation in loop
Tell which one you like more.
Files can be found here
Hope you like it. If so, use thank button or donation (I'll appreciate it. LOL)
Both look similar but will go for the second one cheers mate
PS - can i just flash this via CWM?
They are the same. I couldn't decide if I liked the whole animation keep looping or just the final part with the Android text
as a loop

i don't use miui, but i guess zip file goes to system/media
browse your system folder and search for bootanimation.zip
there put the new file

Miui can change boot screens through the theme Chooser without having to use root explorer but I think it uses mtz files. Do you mind if I ask if anyone can make a miui version of your boot?

Once you are done replace the zip with the one in /system/media and you are done.

You have to replace the original boot animation in /system/media folder with root explorer or any similar app. Then sd card does not matter you can change it or remove it.

I would recommend you to switch to a new rom such as cyanogenmod or if you
want rom based on stock rom you can try minimodx because changing boot animation in stock roms can cause bootloop

How can i disable boot animation in GDXv25?

I remember seeing an option to disable it somewhere but I can't find it.
For now, try adding this line to the build.prop file in system and bin folder:
Code:
debug.sf.nobootanimation=1

Hey guyz this is for all those who want to have a complete ics look on their minis....
firstly u all will need to download holo launcher from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1636393
thanks to mobint
then u all will need to apply the ics layout patch which will make you mini look like this (see link):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1324924
(use with AChep's ics theme it looks better)
i have attached the patch files....
so here is the method how to apply them:
(be sure to do a nandroid backup just in case.....)
first mount system
then apply update-xxxx-patch in cwm
then apply update-xxxx-undo in cwm
then again apply update-xxxx-patch in cwm and reboot.....
After u are done applying the patch your statusbar, desk clock and usb connect layout will change to ics....
(note:disable the compact carrier label optn in cm setting)
Then u will all need to download ics theme by AChep and here is the link for that:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18631463
thanks to AChep
after that you all will need to apply another patch for ics like settings...
it is simple u just have to flash it via cwm.....
(settings.zip attached)
thanks to me
After that u will need a lock screen like ics for that you need widget locker which have a built in ics lock screen....
For lock screen clock use the built in clock widget of widget locker....
(you can download it frm market)
For the fonts flash the full.ics.fonts.zip in cwm..
(attached below)
thats all and in the end u will get a complete ics look....
i hav also attached some screenshots of what every thing looks like....
For those using autoradio's ics light rom you can use the patches in #11 post *update*(if below doesn't work)
Hope this thread helped u for any queries ask me....
And dont forget to press thanks....

Nah, you just need an image editor to edit the size (240x320) and to change the txt file. Don't test the new boot anim in your device. You can find Boot animation Factory here, in xda, just search for it.
With that, you can also preview the boot anim in your pc ;D
This night I'll upload some geek and sexy boot animations
