I'm coming from the cdma hero running cm6, and darch and the cm team modified the power management widget so you can toggle data on and off. Not that it's a huge deal, but I'm not a fan of having to go into settings every time to enable/disable my data. Any help? Thoughts? Cm6 would destroy on this phone.
Sent from my LS670 using XDA App
Certainly. Go to Settings -> Cyanogen Mod Settings -> User Interface -> Widget Buttons, and then tick "Toggle Mobiledata".
EDIT: I just reread your post - this doesn't change the widget, but does change the power control in the notification dropdown. So kind of a solution?
Let me rephrase, I WAS running cm on my hero, but now I have the optimus s. I want to be able to turn off evdo/3g from the power control widget. Phone is root but still on stock rom. No other way except going into Settings/wireless and networks/ mobile networks/ and then toggle 3g on/off from there. Should see if darch and the guys could do cm6 for the optimus.

Oh, I apologise for my misread. To the best of my knowledge, toggling mobiledata via a widget isn't possible without a modification made to the ROM that most stock roms wouldn't have.
I'm not 100% sure on this though sorry.
I believe you are correct sir. It's too bad they don't put it in. hopefully they include it in gingerbread. Need some cyanogen mod love for this phone.

DarkyRom is capable of taking you to the settings by holding the toggles in it's notification bar
I use AxLor_HDBlog_Xlite because it's too small and fast and clear but I really need this function.
How can I add it?
For example: if you touch the Bluetooth or wifi toggles it will turn it on and off but if you hold it it will go directly to it's settings
Edit:-----------------
FOUND THE SOLUTION:
i tested (( 14 Toggle Status Bar )) that originally belongs to ROCKET ROM and it worked Perfectly.
- you can choose between/up to 14 toggles to have in your notification bar (there is a setting for it)
- by holding any toggle you go to their settings (which i really love)
you can find it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1380284
i would like to have that function too
Please devs this is very important for me and I'm sure for many people.
If anyone at least put me in a right direction
Come on guys. Any one??????....... anything????? ...... really?????.......
Almost all the Roms for Galaxy S II had this. This means it shouldn't be that hard
I guess I'm the only one who replies to me!!!!!
Anyone can help?
ICS has it (at least there was a settings shortcut on my pulldown menu on my GSM GNEX).
get rocket rom, it's in there..

I want to know how can I add it to any other Rom i like.
Is it a tweak or what? i just want to know how it works
FUI (I just flashed RocketRom and it didn't have it) which means DarkyRom is the only Rom that has this.
please refer to this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1380284
What is this thread have to do with my request?
ROCKET ROM doesn't have this. And even if it does doesn't change anything
I need to learn to add this function to any Rom I want
This require you to decompile some of the framework files, make the code changes and then recompile it in order for you to do that. Usually you have to do it for every ROM that you use because it needs the framework-res.apk from that specific ROM.
Well do you know what to do to which?
Like an instruction for the whole thing.

No, I dun but I know the files are framework-res.apk and systemui.apk. Once you used apktools to decompile these files, you need to search for the correct xml to edit and add in extra actions to do when the user long press on the icons. As these are not default actions, you need to add in the action class yourself.
I havent try to research anything in this area yet but I'm sure Google can find you an answer

I'm running AOKP Build 39 and trying to go full ICS with the NAV bar. I've figured out how to completely disable the capacitive soft keys from working, however they still light up when touched. What do I need to do to disable the soft key light? I figured there'd be an option in ROM control or Display but I could not find anything. Any help would be appreciated.

I downloaded that, but it doesn't seem to do anything. It's just a widget? There's no settings to keep them off or anything, maybe I have the wrong app.. Can you post a link?
It is a simple widget. Works like a light switch.
Also, in ROM control, do you see an option for LED settings under functionality?
Edit
Well, it seems ktlo doesn't work on aokp. Sorry.
I appreciate your trying to help. I couldn't get ktlo to work and yeah, no option in AOKP that I'm aware of. Been doing a lot of research and apparently its really hard to do on the Captivate...
Although the setting in "Settings>Device options>Touchkeys>Backlight Timeout" definitely edits the duration they stay lit.. if only I could figure out where that actual number is located, I could edit it to be zero seconds which would keep them off? Any idea where that info is pulled from?
No idea myself. But,i was thinking about the same thing.
I tried pulling the aires apk from version 38 bit i don't know what to edit

In Sixstring's AOKP for Captivate thread he acknowledged that this is something that they planned on implementing but got distracted. He also said to look forward to it being in future builds at some point. I consider that a WIN heh.

I'm currently using Omega StatusBar but it's buggy at best. After enabling in accessibility settings I find that the counters are frequently incorrect, apps stick around after clearing notifications, and ongoing notifications don't play very nice.
Anyone using a statusbar with more success? Which one?
I'm looking for any which display icons for notifications rather than the vague circle with a number within it as present in the stock os. It's good to see what's going on at a glance without swiping down.

+1 want to know the best bar too xD
I wasn't even able to get Omega StatusBar to display notifications on my 8.9" HD. As soon as I turned on the "accessibility" option necessary for it to intercept notifications, I got a force close.
I've tried a couple of other status bar replacements from the Play store with the same results -- all fail turning accessibility on. I've seen reports of other 8.9" users having the same problem.
I would certainly like to hear of a working status bar that doesn't have this problem.
The stock status bar works.

You have to go to the Kindle's settings -> accessibility -> then turn on the option for Omega Statusbar accessibility.
From there you can turn on the accessibility within Omega's app. It might force close but it will work.
At that point when you open the Omega app you will want to hit the button on the top-right-most of the screen. It turns on the status bar. You should instantly see the statusbar pop up.
It doesn't always clear notifications though. I guess this is an android limitation with what gets sent to the accessibility api.
Hope that works for you.

Oh and if you're stock or stock rooted and you don't have accessibility settings within the Kindle's settings menu use KFHD Extended Settings to access it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2124384

Thanks, I got it working. It wasn't worth it, though. Wasn't much of a functional improvement, didn't look that much better, and the old status bar would show up in flashes now and then.
Maybe the stock toolbar isn't that bad...

Yeah.. And even moving to /system/app doesn't make a difference unfortunately. At least when the stock toolbar says 10 notifications, its really 10 notifications. I'm confident some ROM will get something stable going though, just a matter of time.

Is there a way to change the icons that show in the status bar without having to switch to an entire other status bar? I'm referring to the parental controls, wifi and battery icons that appear in the top right corner. I'd like to customize those. Possible?

But I want to get back on this rom. Do you guys or the Rabbit have any SD swap ideas for this rom? Is it possible on a 422 rom?
Pleasantly surprised with this ROM as I am not normally a big fan of combo ROMs. I would like to see an integrated SD swap like that is skrilax's version of CM 10.2, but otherwise I like it.
