Ad hoc hack for the n7? Anyone anyone... I'd really like to tether my tablet to my unlimited 4G phone.

I'm seeing that blue tooth tether as the best option. It works.... I still want the n7 to be able to see ad hoc networks.

Rooted TB with XOOM Wifi

So I got my Thunderbolt Rooted. I have the unlimited data plan for the TB. What WiFi app can I use with my XOOM WiFi so I don't get nabbed?
Just use Wireless Tether. What do you mean nabbed? Tethering only raises eyebrows if you are using obscene amounts of data, at which point your service gets throttled. Otherwise, it just shows up as data usage.
Verizon wants to charge $20 for me to make my phone a hotspot using the app that came preloaded. (Mobile Hotspot)
The app on the Thunderbolt is free until May 15th use it while you can hehe plus BT tethering is free and requires no root.

using wireless tether, BT tethering won't work between the two. They can pair but not connect. The bluetooth option on the TB is greyed out.

If you are rooted, then just install Wi-Fi tether from the market. 4g and it works for me. And that way big red won't know.

what is the best tethering app out there?
I like PdaNet and use Blue Tooth DUN mode to connect my tablet. BT uses less power imo.

I usually use PdaNet via USB. It will even charge up the battery this way, albeit very very slowly.

No internet, will it work?

So I have no internet at my house and I been using my phone to tether to my computer. I'm about to pick up a nexus 7 for cheap, and I was wondering if I hotspot my phone and have the chrome / tablet connect to it. Would I be able to play my Netflix on my tablet and shoot it to the chromecast

I've read in other threads that this method should work. Your phone is basically the wireless router.

Viper one and wireless tethering on att

Does having Viper enable free wifi tethering or do I need a mod for that? I'm all for paying for things but atts rates for tethering are ridiculous.
