[Stylus] Icepen - Nexus 10 Accessories

Discuss the new stylus, slated for shipment in February:
http://www.icepen.com
I could see myself buying something like that, even though I've never owned a stylus. (I have no affiliation to the company, I'm genuinely looking for ya'lls opinions on it.)

Seems like just another capacitive pen to me. Am I missing something besides the ice gimmick?

+1.
What is it that is suppose to be unique about this than any other similar product on the market already?

They look nice and seem to be built well. Yes it is another capacitive pen.

How thin is the tip? 3mm or 4mm?

Sorry I can't find an answer on their website. This looks pretty cool though: http://www.icepen.com/collections/accessories/products/touch-brush-tip
I'll probably get one and I'll let you all know how it is.

yes it does
i have one. it works well but a hard shell instead of silicone would be much better imo. very bulkly compared to similar battery cases for other phones. It could have been designed much better

Do you have pics? I'm interested in getting one and make my phone last a week with 12 hours of screen time. Doubt that will happen but one can dream right?

I'll get you some in a bit. But imagine your device doubled. And also I just leave it on as soon as both my both and the poweskin are charged and then I leave the power skin on and I continue to use my phone one the powerskin then I drain my normal battery. Most useful way. The other was is to drain the nexus battery then charge the phone with the power skin. But you don't get much juice because you are sing the phone and charging at the same time. All in all. I managed to get a total of 3 days total without being with a charger. AMAZING! But I don't like the bulk much.
Edit: can post pics? Got an email/

Got your pics man. That last shot you sent to show the thickness as compared to a pencil really told the story. Funny thing is, that's how "thick" my phone is now with my Seidio active case except the front part by the screen makes it a pain to do anything near the edge. For example, Swyping the letter P.

That was the plan. Having battery for days is extremely tempting. Good thing I'm already used to the thickness thanks to my current case.

Somewhat of a thread dig by the company rep, but for those interested PowerSkin also have the Nexus S 4G (which fits the Nexus S perfectly too) battery case for clearance sale at 9.99$ + shipping. Some might be interested.
I just ordered mine waiting for it to come.

My n7 gonna be in my hand tmr and it would be for school note, so im trying to find a good keyboard for this ? Any suggestion would be nice

i've got one of these. works fairly well, but can take a bit of getting used to.
I really like using my Microsoft Arc keyboard. It's pretty much full size, but I can't type anywhere near as fast on anything smaller. It's slick, light and has a carry pouch. Tiny dongle into USB OTG cable.
I also have a mini bluetooth keyboard that is about the size of my phone. It's ok, but not any great advantage over the on screen keyboard.
Out of all the bluetooth keyboards that I have seen, Logitech one is by far the best.

Like I posted in another tread, I found this keyboard on ebay significantly cheaper (open box)

I'm using my old Galaxy Tab keyboard/case. Had to shim the bottom to get it centered in the case, but it works reasonably well.

I still have the hp touchpad keyboard, it's pretty good to type on and light weight too, just not sure how to carry both together.

This keyboard is super cheap and at least one guy is claiming that it works great with his Nexus 7.
Has anyone else tried it?

I've got one too. Great to haul around for note taking. It fits well in a bag since it's ~1/4" thick up until the battery compartment. Just wedge your N7 under the thin part and let the back of the keyboard sit off to the side.

Just got another comment from the Amazon thread, and apparently it doesn't fit the Nexus 7 very well:
R. Brent says:
I also bought this keyboard to use with the Nexus 7. I'm a bit impressed with how usable it is, as long as I remember not to try and type quickly.
The Nexus 7 is not a good fit. The adjustable clip doesn't quite get tight enough, and the Nexus 7 will slide out from the sides. However, it does work to hold it upright.
For less than $10, I still think it was worth the price though.

You know what would kick ass? A Microsoft Surface-like case - with a kickstand in the back and a hard cover in the front that is also a keyboard.

I purchased 3 different ones just like that. they all work with NeXus 7 no issues. The top arm moves up and down and fits the NeXus 7 just fine. I even have it with the NeXus7 case on it. then it becomes a tight fit.
But it does work, and for 10-15 bucks depending on which one you purchase.

Naw, not quite:
If you turn the case sidewise, the Nexus slides out. Keeping the Nexus inside its case makes it a good fit though.

Metallic Case?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any nice metal/metallic cases for the nexus 7?
None, but if you're desperate you might look at tin watercolour paint boxes.

I have a metallic case on my GSII LTE and it renders NFC/Android Beam useless. I have to take the case off every time I want to use NFC. Just a heads up.

Will definitely mess with NFC, also what about WiFi? May weaken the signals no?
I don't think so, many other types of phone and tablet have metal cases and seem to work fine.

Depends. A lot of phones that have metal cases have signal problems. Really depends on metal thickness, antenna power, and antenna position.
Really curious about this one. Anyone got it yet?

would i get in trouble for carrying one around or on a flight?

Tactical just means that... u can use it for self defense but really any pen can be used for "tactical" defence. I sell these at my job but without the stylus part. I don't believe that you would get in trouble cuz it is after all a pen.
Nice find though

You can still poke someone in the eye with a plastic pen. Doesn't need to be a metal one:silly:
Tactical means it looks vaguely militaristic and is a surefire buzzword for selling anything at all to the wannabe soldiers out there..
Hold still while I write a stern note to you with my tactical pen or I'll blind you with my tactical torch. I'd hit you with my tactical belt but my tactical trousers would fall down..
They sell similar products at Walgreens for ten dollars.

I wouldn't say Florida is picky. In fact the state is pretty easy going on firearms and other weapons compared to many states. The TSA is a federal organization anyway so it doesn't really have anything to do with the state.
I don't consider it a weapon but many of these tac pens have glass breakers and DNA catchers. They're also relatively sharp and heavy... maybe that's why its considered a weapon.
Anyway. S&W makes pretty good tac gear. I might have to pick this specific one up. Thanks for posting.

There are better versions of that case for less money. That one has no magnetic closure, nothing to keep it shut when you want it shut.

I would but it's one of the most common case designs and not hard to find on Amazon or eBay, think how much more fulfilling it would be if you discovered it for yourself.
