ADB problems

I have been having problems with the ROM install on my girlfriends phone, so I was going to do an ODIN restore and then start over. Unfortunately, ODIN doesn't see the phone. I have installed the drivers, but when i try adb devices in the command prompt window, there is nothing listed. Its like the phone isn't there. Any advice?
What's the ROM on the phone?

What OS is on your computer ?

Download mode can't be seen in adb. Also your computer will now see your phone as a nexus s. You need all the drivers from android sdk

That is correct , pirateghost is a good helper!

And if on windows vista or7 you have top run odin as admin

don't use safe strap. unlock the bootloader, flash a real rom. change the boot logo to the stock one and noone will ever know you that you unlocked it.
Which would you suggest? I do have unlocked boot loader currently.
Sent from my MB886 using xda app-developers app
Well you don't use safe strap with am unlocked bootloader. Get cwm.
Sent from my PACMAN MATRIX HD MAXX
That has to be flashed with fastboot right? Any tutorials?
Sent from my MB886 using xda app-developers app
There's a whole bunch. And a tool that does it all for you also. Look in the development section man. Ain't hard to search.

Just download the cwm file and place it in fast boot folder or platform tools if you have SDK.. Open command window there by presssing shift key and right clicking simultaneously... Type the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery_name.img". Replace the name of your recovery To recovery_name... Then "fastboot reboot"

Just did it and saw you posted. When I restored my phone last night I did it manually in cmd with fast boot so it was easy enough.

Can I use a 4.0.4 ROM or anything? I miss otg support. Otherwise what are some good 4.1.2 ROMs?
Also to your reply: by cmd I meant command prompt. I did it with adb and fastboot directly.

Yes you can get 4.0.4 back... But reg otg, it works in 4.1.2 as well ... Even it works with all 4.2.2 nightlies... What problem you face in otg?

Im on stock 4.1.1 right now. I try to use an app called arduino commander and it doesn't work. Nothing plugged into my externally powered otg cable works. What's a good 4.1.2 ROM to use?

I'm running win 8.1 in parallels. When I run the oneclickbin and odin starts, I don't get that "added" message. I know the phone is connected, because Kies works fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I ran mine on Windows 7 make sure you install all the USB drivers. I had the same problem until I installed them and did a simple reboot and it showed it up.

Yeah I got that download from the site and that's why it seems weird its not their.
You probably didn't check on the appropriate box to install the tools you should check and see and if you didn't just install them from the android sdk exe.
