App signal strength reading bug? - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I'm wondering if someone can help me verify this bug on the S3 mini.
My app depends on reading the phone's signal strength to toggle WiFi. An S3 mini user has reported that the app shows the signal strength as -1. But after accessing Android's phone info page to check the signal/cell info, the app suddenly starts to read the signal strength correctly.
I need someone to confirm if this is a bug in the device itself, if possible. The test scenario would be to:
1. Reboot the phone.
2. Install the app.
3. Go to the "Advanced" activity from the menu.
4. Check the signal reading.
5. If -1, access Android's signal/cell info page.
6. Go back to the "Advanced" activity and check the signal.
Please let me know what you guys find.
Much appreciated.

This is more like q&a but here is your answer..

Thank you guys. I guess it's safe to safe there's something wrong with the device.
I was hoping to find out where the bug is and report to Samsung so they include a fix for it in their next update. Maybe a more experienced developer can help specify where the issue is?

Looks like I'm late to the party, but confirmed on CZE/European ROM.

[Q] Delete attwifi Hotspot?

Does anyone know how to remove the attwifi hotspot from the list of hotspots? With ICS I can no longer delete it with a long press and forget network. Also I no longer have access to the auto connect option. Where is the address stored and can it be reoved from the file?
Do you still have the ATTWIFI hotspot application installed ?
I have uninstalled mine and the ATTWIFI hotspot doesn't show up.
i have removed all of teh bloatware and it is still there. Now I did find it mentioned in the /system/etc/wifi folder in the file wpa_supplicant. Anyone know if this will fix it if I delete or modify this file?
Go to settings/apps/ and you can disable any app with ICS

It is not an app I am trying to disable just the access point ATTWIFI so that my phone will not automatically connecto to it every time I drive by a McDonalds or a Starbucks
did anyone figure this out yet? i'm on on rooted stock 2.3.5 and have the same problem. and there are more of these damn 'attwifi' hotspots popping up. super annoying.
A long press on my phone gives me a menu with "Forget Network" (I bumped the volume switch while capturing screen):

[Q] Help me finding a how-to

Hey guys!
I've been searching for a while a way to disable some things by default (like when I first boot the ROM), and I found out that some values are kept inside /res/values/bools.xml files.
I didn't tested it out yet, but I'm pretty sure that it works on any app, wheter system or not.
But I'm having trouble to find out how to turn off mobile data. The best that I could get so far is to boot the ROM in Plane mode, which I found in SettingsProvider.apk:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

}
Can someone please help me?

For me it is always on. And I don't have a data plan, so this is very unwanted.

How do I do this? I don't know, since I never use 3G

Location settings with Android OS 9 update issues?

The setting for MOBILE NETWORK only locations is missing. Anyone know if it's just buried or did they take that setting out completely? Just got the OS 9 update a week or so ago. Medium battery saving still has GPS running. Battery drain is starting to happen. US AT&T Snapdragon version here.

I believe you can access it here, well for just GPS only.

Miscommunication going on with Limey. I do NOT want my GPS on at all but I found the article above already. No way to turn off the gps where you sent me. WTF GOOGLE?! Some of us do not want high accuracy turned on all the damned time. It sucks your battery life away! I went from more like 26+ to less than 20. Think about all those people out there that don't have 4000 Mah batteries? They are going to be @SS out if luck!

Samsung SM-N950F/DS sensors stopped after update.

Hello everyone. I'm sure many people are having problems with their Note8s specially after receiving updates. Mine also did broke at some point where I lost the track. What I have done to try to fix it so far is;
Went into download mode - had this ;

I think the phone is in Egypt variant since it says carrier ID is Egypt?
For the Recovery mode I had these;
So as you see, I tried many things to fix this without sending it to SC since I live in North Cyprus. I'm pretty sure that it is not hardware related but more likely a software stuff. Any ideas to fix this? Thanks.
Btw, I am not sure if the images are visible or not, can someone leave me a feedback please?

i got the problem too
No one has any idea about how to fix this instead of sending phone to Samsung Care? Like draining the battery completely etc? Or possible software conflicts? Since I have updated to bootlader 6, I cannot go back to 5 either.

Question Any way to remove system disconnected icons?

Hi
I have been trying to stop this icon from showing on my watch 5. I dont use an android phone so dont have it synced up all the time, hence why it is showing as disconected. Is there a way for example of removing the icon from the system files so that it doesnt display any more?
Thanks, any help really appreciated

Maybe by disabling the appropriate notification on the phone.

Maybe try Goodluck Quickstar, but I don't think that will get it. Worth a shot though.
Hi, thanks for the response, unfortunately this only works on tizen watches not wearos ones
