is there any way to use ctrl(mic)+a separately of c to copy, because to copy i need to hold mic+a+c. so, make it normally, like in a pc keyboard. ctrl+a = select all (and stay selected) so, i press ctrl+c (to copy it)
Just hit SHIFT+ALT and the left (or wheather you are, the right arrow key). This selects the whole line.
And hitting ALT and arrow-up or arrow-down, acts like POS1 and END. VEEEEEEERY handy

Does anyone miss the feature to use the jog wheel to set the volume in the Today screen (instead of selecting Today items)? Anyone found a tool to fix that?
Regards,
Nika.
i also miss this. took me ages to wokr out how to change volume.
so used to slidy thing on my wizard.
Same here. Found a tool that might do it: AEB Plus. Still investigating...
Add me to the, I need this also list
I used the Ubiquio 503g for alittle bit. That device also doesnt have a dedicated volume button.
What they did was, on the today screen, if you click in on the scroll wheel the volume bubble would pop up.
Dear all,
I have test AEB Plus yesterday. Quite a cool app, not sure it's free (ie. time restricted). It works when you assign the volume to the press of the jog-wheel, it somehow does not work when you assign it to turning the jog-wheel... Well, pressing and then turning is better than nothing, so I'll keep using this for a while...
Regards,
Nika.
AEB is a must have app, well worth the money. I have assigned more and more keys with it.

LOL. Thanks for the instructions. I've set it to Volume Down btw - I prefer to have less volume with the key-press when I officially wanted more (and then scroll up to actually get more volume) instead of getting more volume with the key-press when I wanted to have less (and then scroll down to actually get less volume)... still there?
Yes. I was checking my Media player. No need to push wheel for that

A little confused here. By hit wheel, do you mean scroll the wheel one click or press it? Scrolling the wheel gives me 0083. Clicking the wheel makes the prompt pop-up disappear (so I am not sure if it registered as 0086).

Anyone got this working on the Diamond. Working fine on my old SE W850 - dont know where to start with the Diamond
I'd like this too.
Can only think about doing it via web browser
I use the k800 version and remaP my left and right hardkeys to act as softkeys but the text is tiny!
How do you download the K800 version of Sky Remote?
Sky doesn't let you chose a particular phone during online setup.
Sky By Mobile Java App
Here's the Java app download.
http://mobile.sky.com/SBM/SonyE_novid/SkyMobile_SonyWithoutTv.jar
All I got to do now is try to remap hardkeys!
Got AE Button Plus, but a bit scared of all it can do.
Can Ericsson68 tell us how he remapped hard keys?
Is running TF3D, cos that seems to overwrite hard key functions when run?
Just got round to trying this.
How do i run the file as .jar files are not assosiated with any apprication?
Put .jar file on Diamond first using activesync.
Then run Jblend first and install and run java apps or .jar files from there.
I still can't get it to logon yet.

Have you looked at
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=35
I know that people have had problems. You might find the answer there.
Hi
I used AE button and then remapped the left and right ring keys to long presses = left and right soft keys. I never do long presses on the left and right ring keys so this made sense to me.
Prepare to need a magnifying glass when you do get logged in though. And from experience put your password in before the user name. For some reason doing it the other way around often crashes it.
Ok! Got application working - am able to enter password and user name.
Have tried remaping keys, but dont understand how or why. Could you go through it step by step.
Have a copy of AE Button Plus installed.
Thanks
Another jar file
This one allows the soft keys to work but doesn't actually manage to login for me.
I attach the file for you to try.
Solution!
trice1921 and colthekid worked this solution out at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=507152 for the Touch HD / Blackstone. It works for the Diamond as well. I'll copy the solution here and hope the mods don't mind.
The java file is here http://mobile.sky.com/SBM/SonyE_novid/SkyMobile_SonyWithoutTv.jar
The HasKeyboard reg key is important and you will need to disable the volume control in S2U2 if you use it. Enjoy!
Firstly, follow the instructions in the original article posted by gears ie. register on the web for sky mobile and download and install the java software and SkyMobile_SonyWithoutTv.jar file.
Also register for "Remote Record" via your Sky+ box (instructions on the Sky.com website)
Next, as the HD does not have a hardware keyboard, we need to "spoof" the OS into thinking the HD does have one. This is done in one key in the
registry (which I found completely by accident while looking for a different one!).
Goto... "HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Shell" and change the value of "HasKeyboard" to 1
Soft Reset the phone.
We will then need to map some of the buttons to give us up/down/left/right, Enter and Left/Right Soft keys. As NickMilner suggests above, i use "AE Button Plus" and my mapping instructions assume that's what you will use. (the program does cost but i don't know of any other one that provides double, triple and long press options for each key and appears to work well enough in free/trial mode anyway!)
Map the following in AE Button Plus
Volume Up button: Single press - Volume Up
Double press - Press Up Arrow
Triple press - Press Left Arrow
Long press - Press Left Soft Key
Volume Down Button: Single press - Volume Down
Double press - Press Down Arrow
Triple press - Press Right Arrow
Long press - Press Right Soft Key
Green Phone Button: Single Press - Press Green Button
Double Press - Press Enter
I would have liked to use the Red Phone button, but whatever selection i made, the red button always acted as an "Exit" button in the java app, so I went with the above. It's a bit complicated I know with all those double and triple presses, but IT WORKS and i've soon got used to it. I'm sure you could chose your own combination of presses, but the above ones work.
Well, there you go, see if it works for you (I Bl**dy hope so...this has taken me ages to write!!)

Someone tried to use some of the special hardware keyboardbuttons in the lower left corner of the keyboard to copy / paste ?
Can one of the keys used as a STRG key in combination with C and V when entering text ?
Greets !
bump
Im interested in this as well, anyone have any ideas?
this is windows, use ctrl+c and ctrl+v
you can set the key to open a context menu, then choose cut/copy/paste

That is the point, how do we get a "ctrl"-key assigned? The "strg"-key fotoingo mentioned is the German "ctrl"-key. Any suggestions?

on the onscreen qwerty works perfect.
Yes, CTRL+C/V/X works with hardware keyboard. All you need is a software to map some of the key on your HW keyboard to CTRL function. I would recommend X1BC (use search on this forum)
Is it possible to set the Fn key + C / V / X to copy / paste / cut?
with AE Button plus you can set it up. eg you can map that weird au button so that single click = cut, double click = copy, and triple click = paste. Lots of other ways you can do it too, using other keys on the hard keyboard.

That's exactly how I use it, works great!
Also would the original poster care to take this solution and edit his first post with it. It's harder for others to scroll than to edit your first post.
Thanks
X1BC will help you, i tested it and worked fine!
Software url:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468007&highlight=X1BC
Step:
1. Install X1BC
2. Change the registry:
"LongKeyTimeout" = 2000
"TabCtrlMode" = 2
3. Put X1BC.lnk into the startup folder, restart your X1
Tab + A (Select All)
Tab + Z (Undo)
Tab + X (Cut)
Tab + C (Copy)
Tab + V (Paste)
-------------------------
HKCU\SOFTWARE\JKing\X1BC\TabCtrlMode
Here are the possible choices:
0 - Do not use as ctrl
1 - Short press mode (short press to enable ctrl then press a letter; long press sends tab chr)
2 - Long press mode (press letter while holding ctrl; short press sends tab chr)
Is'nt it easier to use the natural keyboard and use <shift> & the cursor keys to select your text that you want to cut/copy, then use the on-screen keyboard to select <ctrl> & c (copy), x (cut) or p (paste)?
Hi guys,
For suspending power on my Topaz I use a little programm called MySuspend.
However, it started to make problems on my analog clock in my Co0kie Home Tab home screen. This clock seams to stop going when the device is suspended.
BTW, the nominal flip-clock goes as it should.
I marked also that when suspending (turning off screen) with the power button, it does not influence that analog clock, so....
could anybody help on how to assing the direct functionality ????
(I use Advanced Config to assign. The question is actually what is the actual .exe file, that is nominaly assigned to powef button).
Thanks in advance for any help.
I am not certain of the actual 'power off' function and what .exe initiates it, but if you install TD2 Tools (or whatever the latest version is called) you can set your softkey in HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila
Set HomeLSKText"="Windows\PowerOffWarning.exe" to initiate Boot manager Screen, as shown below.

Thanks Bruce for the hint,
but I just would like to click the left soft key and it should be done (suspended).
The choice of couple of options is a bit to many clicks to go.
Thanks anyway
Anybody knows the solution ???
One thing you can try...
I'm not certain if TD2 Tools replaces anything in regards to .exe's but if you can browse through your windows folder and look for some type of power???.exe (not sure what it would be called exactly) but it should start with 'power' and see if you can find the .exe that activates a power down.
That's how I found the .exe in my previous post, but mine may have been replaced....
Sorry, just to be clear, you want to power off device or just suspend?
Bruce,
I want just suspend the device, exactly as the power button does it
I may be wrong but.....
I don't think it can be done as the power button suspends via the baclight settings in the registry.
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight]
"ACBrightness"=dword:0000000a
"ACTimeout"=dword:00000000
"ACTimeoutTemp"=dword:00000000
"ACTimeoutUnchecked"=dword:00000000
"AutoBklOffset"=dword:00000000
"AutoDeviceLockEnable"=dword:00000001
"AutoDeviceLockTimeout"=dword:00000005
"AutoSensor"=dword:00000001
"BatteryTimeout"=dword:00000078
"BatteryTimeoutTemp"=dword:00000000
"BatteryTimeoutUnchecked"=dword:00000078
"Brightness"=dword:00000007
"DimBKLinUnlockScreen"=dword:00000000
"LedOnOffAdcValue"=dword:0000013f
"LightDetectOn"=dword:00000000
"MAXBrightnessScale"=dword:0000000a
"MINBrightnessScale"=dword:00000001
"QKeyLedTimeout"=dword:0000000a
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\LockLevel]
"LockLevel"=dword:00000000
There is no .exe involved.
Well,
I just found poweroff.exe, that makes the action that is done when you press and hold down the power button.
So if that is an exe-file for this action, then ......... ??
I assumed you had checked for the .exe already!

As I wrote before "I found in Windows folder poweroff.exe"
So hopefuly there might be some other option for suspending as the button, but where .......
Perhaps something is getting lost in translation here but....
You stated "I just found poweroff.exe, that makes the action that is done when you press and hold down the power button."
Does that mean when you click the poweroff.exe, your phone goes to suspend as it does when you hit the power button? Did you confirm this?

Sorry, I've been away for a while.
When I click power.exe, it asks "Do you really want to turn off your device?",
ie. it's as if I would press & hold the phisical power button.
So, if that function of the power button exists as an exe-file, I assume that a suspend-function also would, but I can not find anything like "suspend.exe".
Maybe the file has another name ??
Grab Keyboard Config for Topaz from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=555821&highlight=keyboard+config
Edit action for button of your choice. Under the Power management category, I have screen power toggle, suspend device and reset device.
Is this what you are after?

My goal was to assign the "suspend" action to the left soft key,
but thanks a lot arrow224 !!
I assigned one of the hardware buttons & will test it
Windows - PC.
I want my left and right click to be something else. For example, the mouse moves just like it does, but when I left click, instead of interacting with what it's hovering over, it presses the button "T", and when I right click, instead of opening up a menu, it presses the button "G".
Or something like that (not necessarily keyboard buttons, but say left click = Mouse Button #4, right click = Mouse Button #5, and Mouse Button #4 = left click, and so on).
Is it possible at all?
What you want is a joke virus. Look em up. There's plenty of what you're talking about.
