Problem installing any zip from recovery

Hello,
I have a galaxy ace S5830 phone. I wanted to install ICS 4.0 on it. The phone is rooted and runs 2.3.4.
When I try to install any zip file from recovery it gives an error saying "E: Can't open /tmp/sideload/package.zip (bad)".
I just cannot install any zip file.
The phone has android recovery 3e.
I formatted the OS (factory reset) but it didnt change anything. Formatted SD card too but no use.
What is the possible reason behind this error?
Any solution is highly appreciated.
flash cwm.

flash this recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=743333&d=1318051346, and then install zip
but be carefully u must have s5830 not s5830i or others.

The log you posted states that the zip file is corrupted...have you tried to redownload cwm and flash it again? It's impossible that you are able to flash the zip for root but not cwm...it must be the zip's problem...

Well, I tried with different zip files of CWM. It is not working. The zip files are not corrupt since I tried them on my friend's ace and they worked fine.
I did not flash for root. I rooted through superoneclick since the flash was not working.
Also the error given is not for my zip file. It is for some package.zip (I dont knw what is this zip file neither do i knw its location tmp/sideload)
Different zip files of cwm?where you get that many? Try to refer to this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12874680...install the cwm from there...and if it is still not working, reflash a new firmware (2.3.6 for most countries) via ODIN and try again...
And one more thing, in stock recovery, you must select install zip from external storage (or something like that), not from cache...you will be brought to your sd card to select the relevant zip file...

With due respect Sir, Different zips means CWM zips from different download sources.
I tried it with 2.3.3, 2.3.4, 2.3.6 (installed them via ODIN). But seems that firmware doesnt make any difference to the recovery. Keeps on giving the same error.
Thanks for the link above..let me try that out.

Is there any way to install CWM + firmware via ODIN? I am looking for that.

I am flashing from SD card only.
But, its not working, I need a method to install CWM without flashing. Since, I already have a root, is there any software that can do that?
P.S Tried ROM manager free version. It asked for premium version. Tried cracked premium version, while installation it says "Application not installed".

[Q] Trying To Root (Installation Aborted) Error

Im Am Trying To Root My Samsung Galaxy Ace gts5830 And Everytime i try to install the zip file provided by the forum I Keep Getting Error
E:Error In /tmp/sideload/package.zip Installation Aborted .............PLZ Help
What firmware are you running? If its ktq there's a previous step (cuz that firmwares system is full). There's a thread on that.
Other than that, which zip are you trying to flash (maybe link to post)?
How are you trying to flash it?
It Is Android Version 2.3.4......Baseband s5830dtlki4..........kernel 2.6.35.7-perf-cl568978 [email protected] #1.
Build Gingerbread.dtlki4
I Went into Recovery mode And Tried root.zip and update.zip wich i cant remember exact thread but both were of the forum
And Ive Read Lots And Cant figure it out
There's one called AceGingerRoot.zip, same stuff, go ro recovery (stock recovery, not cwm recovery) install zip from sd card. Then just update the superuser app from the market and its binary:
http://db.tt/e33J6E1P
Good luk
Thank U So Much It Worked ......
I am having the same problem, root.zip gives 'installation aborted'. I went to the link you gave for AceGingerRoot.zip and google chrome said 'malicious code and has blocked it'.

Problem with connection phone to PC

After i tried to install CyanogenMod, and it doesn't work because of bad first tutorial. I made big mistake, i didn't root my phone and didn't install CMW before installed CyanogenMod. Now I'm stuck in bootloop "Android", i can go to recovery only and i can install or update anything. I want to install original soft by Kies or by Odin, but my phone can't connect with PC. I know that computer see my phone because of automatically install drivers. But when i turn on Kies or Odin, it doesn't connected. Anyone had the same problem or know solution?
Are you able to go to the DOWNLOAD mode ?
If yes, then your pc will detect your device and you can easily flash firmware using ODIN v4.38
Hi crashew!
If you can go to recovery, you can install CWM and then any stock ROM from recovery. That is not exactly what you wanted, but it's easy and you could try it.
If not, Odin is your solution.
Good luck.

My solution is Odin, because when i try root or install CWM it's bootloop too, so i can't install anything by recovery way. But with Odin is problem, that my PC doesn't connecting with phone, I'm sure that PC see phone, because after first time insert the USB, it started install drivers to my phone, but when i try connect phone by Kies or Odin it doesn't work, Odin saying " Please connect your phone!"
So I have problem and I can't solve it.
Hi crashew!
Is your recovery: recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix.zip? If not you could try installing it from your recovery.

Hi crashew!
AFAIK if you can go to stock recovery you can root your phone and then install CWM.
Search in the general section, there are some tutorials for rooting, try and try, eventually one of them will work for you.
Good luck.

[Q] [PLEASE HELP] Guide on how to root P7 on lollipop B805 when HiSuite doesn't work?

I want to root my device so I can flash a recovery BUT
Hi Suite on my pc doesnt connect to my phone (latest v 2.3.55.1)
Have you tried to find the .apk of hi Suite in program files>HiSuite>.apk ??
YES, installed it, the problem persists
Have you installed the drivers for your phone?
YES, the phone comes up in my computer as "P7-L10 and I can access the Internal and SD card
I was one of the unfortunate ones to get the NO KEYBOARD, WIFI PROBLEMS and NO MOTION CONTROL or THEMES
My device was not rooted, I need Hi Suite for that, my boot loader is unlocked tho.
I am currently running B805, Ive tried using Updater to install B609 to no avail.
I have temporarily sorted out the wifi using a static IP but this doesn't work at work as they need DCHP for the constant influx of connections.
I've tried the dab and fast boot options with SDK but also no help.
They say boot into recovery but when in that mode the only options I get are:
-RESET FACTORY SETTINGS
-REBOOT
-WIPE CACHE PARTITION
Ive done my research, tried literally everything, tried iRoot, KingRoot, Flash Gordon, every possible root.
Installed ROM Manager from CWM, that asks for rooting and then says SU Binary doesn't exist
I literally sat for 10 hours on my off day trying to get this to work, nothing is working!
Just a simple thing like getting HISUITE TO WORK!????

Have you tried a full wipe? When I updated, I did a full wipe -> force update to B609 -> regular update to B621 -> regular update to B805
After that, I enabled USB debugging, flashed TWRP recovery, and flashed SuperSU. From then on you just have to delete set_immutable.list.

Dowload the full B609 update. If it is a .zip, unzip it, and you should have a file called update.app. Put it on your SD card in a folder called dload. Turn off the device. Turn on with holding all three buttons. It will force update to B609.

First thing you should be root
If you have any PC or laptop then install android one toolkit the android one toolkit thread is given below and just download it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...oolbox-android-one-toolkit-one-click-t3030165
After installing this if you are not rooted just root your device by simply clicking on root button.
If you are already rooted then just select the recovery which you want like :-
Philz
Cwm
Stock
TWRP
Select the recovery and just click on flash recovery and it will be flashed in minutes.
If you don't have any PC or Laptop then for your ease, download Flasher or flashify from play store and select recovery file and select flash on it.
The custom recovery will be flashed.
I think you should understand what I mean..
Hit thanx if you think that I helped..
