With ICS and later does anyone else have a problem with the keyboard not wanting to put in profanity unless you type it out? Even if you save the words. With swype I had no problem but slideit incorporates the stock keyboard prediction and o swear it won't let me swipe profanity I have to type it out. Its rally annoying

Swype uses its own dictionary. Perhaps you need to add the profane words to the regular Android dictionary first?
Or else, in settings, turn off the language filter....

Have anyone try this keyboard? It work amazing for me.

I have, but I prefer the beta.
They had a one day special free invitation for the SwiftKey VIP which gave you access to the phone and then beta. The phone beta (now X) had arrows along to bottom which they removed

You can get the arrows back in the settings. My only issue with SwiftKey is the iffy autocorrect and the odd landscape mode

After reboot the tab. The keyboard didn't able to scale properly. Any idea?

I use SlideIT, fastest one ever get.

Hello, can any of you tell me the best keyboard for the OB? I am currently using GO keyboard and it is not the best. Thanks in advance!

I like Perfect Keyboard because it allows to have a compact keyboard for portrait... a qwerty layout for portrait is IMHO too hard to use without mistakes.
In the other part Perfect Keyboard is rather bad for terminal and bash purpouses because is difficult to write symbols like _ or =
Regards!
the best: swiftkey
Well, I have used both and didn't like them... Any other solutions? The best so far is the GO keyboard that I have used so far, very smooth.

I use Smart Keyboard.
htc ime & swype are perfect for me.
I've been using gingerbread keyboard and it's been working out fine for me

I used SliedIT, but only found a demo and it expired. Didn't want to pay for it.
I am looking for a specific feature in a swipe style keyboard, I need it to automatically recognize two languages. I sometimes write messages in my native language, and sometimes in English. Is this possible? SlideIT had a setting like "secondary dictionary" but it didn't work, or I don't know how to switch between (other then manually from the settings page).
I'm using HTC ime for passwords etc. and swype beta for allday writing
Once discovered that HTC IME has compact keyboard to and is easy to chage between them with left-right swipe... stuck on HTC IME!!!
Regards.

why do you change keyboard for passwords? You can write normally on Swype

because in some apps swype is trying to add passwords to the dictionary or replaces the passwords with words from dictionary ^^
The ones you have mentioned have not proven to be a wise choice for me because 1) they are too compact, 2)weak design and 3)do not recognize well other languages such as Portuguese or Spanish, which I normally use alongside with English. The downside of GO keyboard is that sometimes it is slow/annoying to type sometimes. Any other alternatives you might share?

I'm using GO Keyboard. In newest version it has swype, a lot of supported languages, themes and other stuff. I suggest you to try GO.
Acutally, I'm pretty satisfied with the LG stock keyboard. It even automatically changes to the local language when I'm abroad. I've additionally installed Smart keyboard but frankly haven't used it a lot.

As for the Lg stock keyboard, how can I install it in nova 8?

Try smart keyboard. I use it and it is nice.
Using hacker's keyboard with change lcd density. Find it nice.

better keyboard 8 is a nice one! been using it since yesterday and u can type quite fast with it!
Try the "Big Buttons Keyboard". I'm using it for weeks now, and I like it!
Since no ROM will offer the Japanese Language keyboard input, and I don't like to use keyboard apps from market, so is there anyway that I can mod the HTC Sense original keyboard input to have the Japanese Language?
I don't have any ideas how should I start it, so anyone can point me down to any guide?
At least please give me a head start.
Thanks.
In the forum for Android Revolution HD in the development section there are a few mods with full Arabic support, I believe this includes keyboard . I would recommend going to that page and contacting the users that Mike gave credit to. They would know exactly what do do.

I find Swype far superior for my day to day use. It's so much faster to type using it, especially in subway, or shaky car...
Might seem like a dumb question but I can't seem to enable swype on password lock? it's so much easier and allows me to easily unlock my phone with an essentially endless pattern gesture, I had it working on my thunderbolt but I was using a self installed early version of swype because the tbolt doesn't come with swype, is there anyway to enable this? Thanks for any help and I know we can't post swype apk's but I'm hoping its an easy fix...

Look up how to remove preinstalled swype, then download the beta and install

Thanks, and yeah I figured that was the case I just wanted to use the preinstalled swype.

Opinions on keyboards for the nexus 7?
You'll get so many different answers, try the free versions.
Swiftkey 3 for me though since you ask.
It told me earlier it'd saved me 10,000 keystrokes on my mobile and over 5,000 on nexus already.
Try thumb keyboard. Its great in landscape mode, and you can customize the keyboard as well!

I also suggest SwiftKey 3. One of the advantages for me is that it offers word suggestions and auto-correct in up to 3 languages at the same time. It also has the option for arrow keys at the bottom in the phone version.

I'll cosign Swiftkey. In landscape mode it's almost perfect, and works well enough that I feel natural using it. I still finding it surprising that I lke it so much considering my phone has a physical keyboard and I formerly used Swype as the alternative.
Swift for tablet or phone for the nexas 7?

I use Hackers Keyboard and love it, and its free
I use perfect keyboard. I love its split keyboard for for when I'm typing in landscape.
I second hackers keyboard for if you want something with the same layout as a real keyboard.

I've used Ultra Keyboard for over a year on my Nook Color and now on the Nexus. It has arrow keys, which I find invaluable.

Not that it helps with your credit, but I recommend Swype. I'm a little biased since I used to work for them, but I think it is the best keyboard input for touch bar none. You can get on the beta by visiting beta.Swype.com... this message was composed using Swype.

Swype beta is free and oh so buttery
Torn between swype and swift key on the nexus 7 myself. I use swype on my galaxy tab 10.1 and love it there but it can't touch the predictive accuracy of swift key. On my HTC One X I use swift key which I'd like to use on my nexus 7 but its buggy in Chrome for some reason. For now I'm sticking to the stock keyboard until I find something else or swift key update resolves the bugs.

Smartkeyboard for both phone and tablet. Great stuff!
I'm a devoted Swype user. Sometimes it acts strangely on webpages though. If that happens I switch to stock until in off that page

I use Thumb Keyboard, I got it when it was the amazon free app of the day, and I really enjoy it. Although it seems to have some issues with Chrome that I'm having trouble figuring out.
