Hi,
I recently bought an HD7.
It seems ok and 100% original but I only get EDGE and GPRS (2G) connectivity. NO 3G :crying:
I tried a few custom/stock roms and different radios (for europe, i'm in Portugal) but I still doesn't get 3G.
About Info:
Model: HTC HD7 T9292
Radio Hardware Version: 5C.0.0.39EEB6
Didn't list the rest because I already tried different OS's, Bootloader's and Radio's (software version)
Note: I already had a HD7 in the past, and it worked just fine with 3G in my residential area.
Thanks
it's hardware related, what frequency your carrier uses? it is a 850Mhz GSM? 900? tell more about it please...

According to Wikipedia:
Vodafone PT - GSM 900/1800 3G 2100mhz
I think it's the same all over Europe.
Any other useful data you need?

I Already tried a different Carrier/SIMCard and setting the APN manually, but and the problem persists.
Did u downloaded HTC own connection setup or something along those lines? It will setup ur connection so u get data in ur phone.

Yes, It was already installed. I even updated it just in case. But it didn't help.
I solved a similar problem adding manually the good operator address in the first line of 'add apn' (you'll find that at the bottom of 'cellular settings'. Otherwise did you try your simcard in another mobile? A ridiculous accident can partially break it...
Good luck

Hi,
After flashing to EhndroixII2.12.29-ROM.zip, using cwm.6025.t679v1.zip as my CWM recovery.
Now I have only GSM (Orange Israel). I can see that in Android Assistant --> Networks: Gsm.
as well as with the fact that the Network Icon shows G sometimes, nothing otherwise.
As a result, Internet / Google Play downloads are very slow - that's my "only" problem...
Advise anyone?
Thanks,

Do you have the same APN settings as the one on this website:
http://wiki.apnchanger.org/Israel
If yours are the same as that I don't know if there is anything else to try.
I have M7 U (no LTE support) I want to get LTE support on it and this what I have done so far
1. ulocked bootloader
2. s-off
3. changed CID to HTC__001
4. changed MID to PN0710000
5. flashed RUU (RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13. 3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed.exe) from this collection
Now (theoretically speaking) my LTE sholud be working right? it is not
(NOTE: neither my SIM or my area has support for LTE but I'm assuming that if I force my mobile to connect to LTE network there will be no bars in the phone and it will not connect to any network 2G,3G or 4G I have tried that with "LTE onoff" app but it did not work)
if my assumption is wrong, please tell me (I will contact my operator to get LTE support on my SIM and will find an area that has LTE network)
if there is something wrong I've done above, please correct me
if there is something missing I should have done but did not, please point it out
Thank you for the great help you provided to me

I thought that the snapdragon 600 already has LTE modem but if you are talking about frequencies I do not know about it
there is an article about it but I cannot post it because I have less than 10 posts you can find it in Android Revolution HD page (it is 3 months old)

The S600 does indeed support LTE, but I believe the modems are not integrated into the SoC. That's why the Korean/Chinese version have SD slots. The radio chips are smaller/different than the international one and thus they have space for SD. I could be wrong though.

you could be right, but my purpose of this is to be sure if we can activate the LTE in the U version or not because when I search the internet I do not see a clear answer I just see assumptions with no actual experience and some people are waiting for others to do it to avoid bricking there devices but me I'm taking the risk because I cannot just set there not sure if I can do more with my device or not ( maybe I'm nuts )
BTW if some has any idea on how supposedly activate the LTE on M7 U (even if not sure) I'm willing to try it
Hi,
You can try this , it might or might not work..
I don't have HTC one yet so I don't know what will be the effect, it might brick the device so do it at your own risk.

I have seen this post and I got that there is a possibility of activating LTE on my device but still I do not know how.
Hi! Please post a screenshot of the version of the baseband you have in Settings->About phone
After that I'd like to ask if the settings already has the LTE options in mobile data?
If yes then what happens if you select it there?
Do you lose signal?
Does it revert back to GSM or HSPA or whatever?
Does it make your phone crash?
Any update about this?

Just an idea, but have you tried entering *#*#4636#*#* In the dialer. Then selecting "phone information" then setting manually there?
Not sure if that'll work though still.

I tried to set it on LTE only but It does not work, though the problem is not losing signal bars but it keeps reverting back to the previously selected option.
Even on LTE models the option reverts back when no LTE signal is available
Also I have already confirmed this on a different post months ago that it's not possible.
The HTC One uses 2 different type of power amplifier which controls the frequency signals of the phone and unfortunately the U version's amplifier was not made to recieve LTE frequencies.
Only option to fix this is to physically replace the power amplifier of the device.

Hello all- I have not found a definitive answer so will post my question here as well. I have a chance to get a Lumia 928 (Verizon) but would like to know if I can use it in New Zealand with my Vodafone SIM. I am not sure if there will be limitations such as maps, etc.. not working.
Cheers for any help, LL13- :victory:
LTE will not work in any country besides the US. Aside from that the 928 shouldn't have any issues with taking a different SIM, as all 928s are SIM unlocked when they shipped from the factory. Before you leave though, I highly recommend you download access point via sysapp pusher in the marketplace/store. Sysapp will check for any and all OEM apps that need updating.

The one warning I would give you with the 928 is that the APN settings are a little messed up, and you may need to play around with it a bit to get them to work. My experience (using the 928 on AT&T and T-Mobile in the US) is that you need to manually set the APN settings, even when Nokia Access Point says that the SIM settings are activated. You can usually get data fine, but MMS's don't work properly if you don't manually set the APN
If possible, avoid doing it with Nokia Access Point, because if you do you will lose the ability to use LTE when you get back on Verizon until you do a hard reset (you can't recover the appropriate Verizon LTE APN settings - it will only connect to CDMA 3g). Now that GDR2 is out, you can seemingly manually set the APN's in the Cellular menu of settings, so try using that first and if it fails, copy the correct APN settings into a new Access Point APN, then manually activate it. This has fixed my issue every time, but again, necessitated a hard reset / wipe of the phone to use on Verizon's LTE network.
Cheers for that information AR...
I can enter those settings manually, I've got them memorised :silly:
Cheers again, LL13- :good:

Its not that quite confusing.
LTE is only good for the country it was released in. The international LTE bandplan is different for every country, none of them match up. For using a CDMA carrier, switching to them will require a SIM (there isn't any way to flash the settings onto the phone yet for those providers who don't yet have LTE without it being official from Nokia) so its kinda a dead end.
If your going to a GSM provider, just insert your SIM and manually add the settings for data and mms. You can use Access Point if you don't intend on using Verizon's LTE.

That makes me a bit more comfortable, cheers for that information thals1992 !!
It seems that the main issue would be with the LTE which would not be a problem since I am not even sure what it is !! I believe it may have to do with 4G or fast download speeds but there is no 4G in my town anyway.
I saw one post on another forum saying that some 928's had no way to add/edit APN settings, etc...
Each post and person seems to have a different experience, but if I can simply get a 3G data connection and normal use I would be happy.
I may just go for it then.

When you travel abroad and use the phone on a GSM carrier you will get data up to HSPA+, unless the carrier happens to share Verizons LTE band. The issue with Verizon LTE after you have used another APN is that Access Point won't deactivate all the APN settings, and since Verizon doesn't have dedicated APN data settings, it doesn't override properly and connect toVZW LTE properly without a hard reset.
The 928 has a CDMA radio as well as a fully unlocked GSM radio

I think your problem occured beacause your device works only in 3G and 4G so you can't get 2G.
But why device works only in 3/4 g? In antenna additional info I can see, that phone gets signal from tower, but can't connect. You think that antenna is different?

Yes may be so u can fix this problem like that:
-Go to your settings and click on mobile data the you'll see the type of the connection so select automatique.

I don't think the CSC change would help you as your issue is with the radio which is in CP file. It is not an icon or preinstalled apps as you have described. There was a speed difference so it is most likely a 3G band compatibility issue.

The bands are the following, may not be exhaustive though.
2G/3G 900/2100 MHz UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, HSPA+, DC-HSPA+
4G 1800/2600 MHz LTE
The rom i was talking about it's the original firmware that can be find on sammobile; can i flash it? Dovi need root permissions in order to flash it?

You won't be able to flash a 950F firmware with Odin, but you can install TWRP and flash a ROM in a zip file that way. Root has nothing to do with this method because the entire system is replaced.

yes, the icon displayed is based on which CSC is loaded. HSPA is technically a 3G technology, so some companies display it this way. Some companies call HSPA+ 4G, and some call LTE 4G.
Can you download the app LTE Discovery and see which type of network you are connecting to?

Hi, I am new on this forum and I reached here searching for the same issue.
I bought a galaxy note 8 SM-N950N, single sim, 64 Gb it’s the korean model.
Since I am italian and soon will go back to Italy, I’d like to know if is it possible to flash a stock italian or at least european rom.
And if you have any suggestion about which one should I use, for the moment I understood that I should flash the twrp and then put a zip file with the rom.
Is it possible to do it also without triggering the knox?
Thanks in advance.

I have a N950N here in the UK and it works no problem. At first my phone wasn't on LTE but I went to general management, and reset my network connections and it picks up LTE fine. Have you managed to figure it out already?

Go to settings, general management, reset, then reset network settings. You will have to re-enter WiFi passwords though, but hopefully that will fix it for you

That's strange, I don't have a problem and I didn't change the CSC for it. I think there are some threads here on how to change the CSC from a 950N, but you would have to root the phone. I haven't done that so I won't be a help in that. Good luck, and let us know if you get it sorted.
