I've downloaded and flashed several zip files meant to fix the 3g/4g bug in the exhibit 4g with cyanogenmod10. I'm running the Slimbean ROM. Why can't I get the fix to work? I load it onto my external sd. I then reboot to recovery. I flash the zip file and reboot, and the fix does not seem to take effect. Help!
The fix does not work for themes, if you are using a theme then that's why, only some themes actually have the 4g icons themed. Iced phone and crystal2 both have 4g icons not sure about others

Forgive my dummy-ness. I don't know if I am using a theme. I don't think so, but how do I find out?
Use of theme chooser will tell you. Should list all themes and if you don't know then you probably aren't using a theme.

Can somebody give a link to the proper zip file? I tried two and maybe wrong ones and maybe one undid the other so I should start fresh. Link please if somebody has it. Thanks.
I have used this one on every ROM available and it works just fine

Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I downloaded it. I copied it to my external sd card. I installed it using Clockwork Mod, flashing the zip using the Install From External SD Card command. No good. Still shows either 3g, or sometimes a capital H. What the heck? I live in a heavily saturated 4g city so it's not that I'm standing in a bad coverage zone. Help!
what rom are you using? and what version CWM are you using?

I'm using Slimbean. How do I know the version of clockwork mod I'm using? In what file folder would I find that?
The icon fix does work and I am using twrp not cwm. The thing with the icon fix is the theme might not support the 4g icons as cm10 uses the h icon in place of 4g icon. Stock theme in cm9/10 with fix does work. In jellybean extreme cm10 theme it doesn't because unsupported. Switch back to stock theme using theme chooser and it should show as 4g.

If you are a fan of ClassicalGas's work (e.g. you use his JAMT theme chooser theme) and would like to use one of his lockscreen's then look no further:
http://themedroid.com/2011/06/hinted-white-lockscreen/
Gas has updated the theme for use on CM7. Here are the instructions from his site:
Install ZipThemer (consider donating for this wonderful tool)
Download the zipped file
Open ZipThemer and press “+Theme”
Locate the downloaded file
Press “Build It!”
Create undo file
Flash outputted file via recovery or RomManager
Enjoy
Screen shots below (also from Gas's website).
Thanks for doing this! I Hadn't got around to it myself (and probably wont for a while).

Hi Gas, no problem at all! Happy to help
Worked perfectly! and looks awesome with the JAMT - White Gradient theme!!

Yessssssss!
hm. cant get it to work.
It flashes alright but only thing changeing is the 'answering sliders' not anything on the lockscreen.
Im running JAMT-donate via the theme manager and im guessing i might have to use the system-defult to see the changes(?).
Any way to solve this?

I managed to get the Mms.apk from Cyanogen working on my stock deodexed rom. Settings works perfectly. All I did was compile against the stock sources, and voila, it all works.
I have only tested it on my Rogers i9020a Nexus S, running 2.3.4. Let me know if you have any issues.
I have attached both an apk for package installers, and also a zip for cwm. I highly recommend making a backup of your existing Mms.apk before trying this one, just in case.
Sweet! Thanks for this.
So you decompiled and recompiled? Can u explain more?
i grabbed the latest code for Mms from the cyanogen project on github, and i just replaced the stock Mms source with the one from cyanogen in the android source. i then compiled it, tested it on my phone, and it worked!
Oh ok. Nice job! Works great on Oxygen 2.2.1

The Cyanogen MMS is more configurable. You can toggle between the standard white background and black background, you can change the font size, SMS split options, change the attachment save folder, custom user agent and other things.

After updating to latest bugless release installing isn't working anymore, it keeps going back to stock after a reboot. I used root explorer to delete stock and stuck the apk in system/apps and matched permissions and that worked.

Here's a link to inverted apps for ICS. I haven't seen this here.
I CWM flashed the Contacts and MMS right in.
I'm running CM9 Beta 2. After install, I had to do a reboot because for some reason the home screen and app drawer wouldn't populate. After that seems to be runnning fine... and very smooth.

Have you tried to use the "phone" app since flashing that modded contacts app? Since they didn't include it with their zip file, you may find that it says it's not installed anymore, even though the APK is there.

No, the inverted apps work ok with the exception of the contacts app, when you flash it, your phone will tell you there is no phone.apk when you try to use it. You can still make calls and get to the dialer through the people app, but it won't come up on it's own anymore.

I ported this theme to the Sprint Version of the HTC ONE. I have tested it on many ROMS but not all. I currently run the latest Inverted EclipticONE 4.3 ROM which is deodexed and it works and looks amazing. All of the flashable mods work as well.
CREDITS:

Villain Rom - for the theme injector
Update 10/13/2013
Updated to work on 4.3 ROMS
Please test and report back if you find anything
Download Theme HERE
I created some flashable zips to remove icons from the theme or your rom in general. The only ones that are specific to this theme is the clock removal and the no icons and no clock.
Remove Alarm Status Bar Icon - HERE
Remove Battery Status Bar Icon - HERE
Remove Silent/Vibrate Status Bar Icon - HERE
If you would like to revert to have your icons back just reflash the theme.

So I figured out what the issue is (not as stupid of a mistake as I thought). Being that this theme was created for the trickdroid ROM based off of a vrtheme there is an issue in the framework-htc-res.apk file that has to do with the resources.arsc file that is inside of the framework-htc-res.apk. I dont know how to modify the resources.arsc file to work with the ViperROM. So I removed it from the theme which fixed the force closes, but also means you lose the black background when you open the texting app, the advanced power menu and also the settings section. Instead of it being black it is white like stock. EVERYTHING else is themed with the nice blue icons and I have opened EVERY SINGLE app on my phone with no force closes. if you would like to flash the updated version just flash THIS and it works.
I will try to reach out to -viperboy- to see if he might be able to help out... I know hes a busy guy so we will see.

Hey guys, since my thread was closed, I was advised by ::indie:: to show you guys how to port his rom. This method should work for other International I9505 roms as well. Landon4444 made a thread on how to port it, but I'm taking more of TheAxman's approach.
1. Download Omega Rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2253528
You'll need Notepad++ for this next part
2. Open the zip of the rom and add this line into the file build.prop (system/build.prop)
# Use CDMALTE Phone
telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=1
^This gets data working for our phone.
3. Flash the modified rom and a custom TW kernel for our device.
4. Enjoy
Also, please don't make the mistake I have, and ask for permission before you port. Hope this helps you guys out.
sorry i dont understand.. i down loaded the rom.. well a diff rom.. on my pc.. i open the zip go into system then i see build prop at the bottom. but i cant open that file.. it says its a prop file? do i downloed the rom and flash it then use root explorer to add that line in?

I was advised by the maker of Omega ROM to make a tutorial (TUT) on how to port this ROM since my port of it was taken down. I probably should (and will) change the title but I did include in the OP that it will work for other ROMs as well (as long as they are on an S4 with similar hardware).

I tried it with a Verizon rom but its already in there, I assume because they are cdma also. I get data working with it and 4g with apn restore but lose lte after reboot. Still scratching my head over that.

Yeah, Verizon Roms are a tad easier than other carriers haha You might want to message cerj about that...it might have to be set in the hidden menu. And it's set on LTE/CDMA in Mobile Networks right?

Yeah I set it to that and it stays on that even after a reboot but no 4g after. Its weird because if I restore my Sprint Tw rom after that I don't have 4g either. I have to update prl twice to get it back. Same thing on Jellybeans rom and Hyperdrive. Its really a shame because them roms fly on this thing.

I was advised by the maker of Omega ROM to make a tutorial (TUT) on how to port this ROM since my port of it was taken down. I probably should (and will) change the title but I did include in the OP that it will work for other ROMs as well (as long as they are on an S4 with similar hardware).

Alrighty then.
Tried adding the line prior to flash but it didnt stick for some reason... so I added it after the flash and LTE is working fine but my signal bars are dead. Any idea how to get them back?
Edit: so I turned off lte and they came back, I can live with this. "Roaming indicator off" notification is pretty annoying though. Any idea how to get rid of it?

Alright, found it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43205979&postcount=130
You just need to get 7zip (or another compression tool), download a Cyanogenmod Nightly build, and replace the eri.xml in the rom with the one from Cyanogenmod :good:

I had the same issue with 4G signal bars and this is what I did on Omega and it fixed it.
I do not know how much of this is necessary and be sure to make a backup before you try.
I replaced the following files in the Omega ROM with those from a stock deodexed MDL ROM prior to flashing then flashed KTs latest kernel and wiped cache and dalvik before rebooting.
The entire CSC directory in /system
any .so file in system/lib that contained ril in its name.
libaudio-ril.so
libreference-ril.so
libril-qc-qmi-1.so
libril-qcril-hook-oem.so
libril.so
libsecril-client.so
In system/bin
rild
sec-ril
in /system
build.prop
If you do a google search for radio interface layer (RIL) you will find info that led me to replace the ril files
I then restored APNs using APN backup and Restore after booting.
Hope this helps

Do you still have 4g after rebooting?

I wanna say yes but am on a different ROM now and never specifically tested that.
I did run it like that for several days and never lost 4G but don't know for sure if I ever rebooted.
I def had 4G signal bars though.
