Requesting to Fix WiFi if we get root - Motorola Atrix HD

If we do get root can somebody try to fix the WiFi issue that when you turn off WiFi and then you try to turn it on it will just keep turning off. Eventually you will be able to turn it on but its a pain in the butt when it happens. If somebody has already fixed it please post if not it could have to wait until we get root

Probably means those of us on stock JB that don't have root and are waiting for a root method, if one us ever developed for JB.

I've retained root but still run into the WiFi problem on Batakang.

Root procedure for a stock 5.9.902 updated Bionic?

Not sure why everyone has overcomplicated this. All you need to do is run one simple exe. Takes 1 minute, phone reboots, and you are rooted. Here's the thread:

i read through your procedure briefly - it includes updating the rom to an ics rom - what if i prefer to stay with liberty\gingerbread? just substitute it or any other in place of what u suggest?

Yes, he just used ics as an example. It can be any rom, just make sure the rom is compatible with 902

That's a false positive. No viruses, it is just a package that lainches the original batch file so Norton flips out. (Surprised ppl are still using Norton though. Avast FTW)
Its kind of.common for Norton to detect a virus with anything that involves modifying something.

Hard to say, but if adb is working (which you can almost always do with RadioComm) and get a root exploit, then I imagine it could be fixed. As far as I know there isn't a working exploit for our device, so it would have to wait for that. Or send it into insurance for replacement, probably the easier way (and what I'd suggest).
Pretty sure flashing either of the leaked kernels will break wifi. Has anyone tried it yet?

Wi-Fi on the stock kernel for me has been spotty. Reading my news articles on Pulse about 20 feet from the router where everything has great signal (including the Atrix HD), it dropped connected twice in 15 minutes. First time I noticed was today.

I'm starting to think it's not just a kernel problem that's messing with wifi. I can hardly ever get internet access via wifi at my house. After dropping my phone down to 2G I have a perfect, steady connection all the time. Could it have something to do with 4G?

I cant root on ics

I cant post in the dev forum cause im new so i thought id post it here. When i try the motifail root i get the error that it doesnt know what the adb drivers are. I followed the instructions to a T and it said it was completed but when i installed root checker it said i wasnt rooted. ( just asking when rooting are you supposed to turn off the phone or do you leave i on because i just left it on. I installed the drivers but idk what is wrong.) I am trying to root so i can get jb. Thanks for a help. And if im posting thus in the wrong place please tell me so everyone doesnt hate me. Thanks

so you installed motorola device manager to get the correct drivers right? if so just wipe caches on your phone from within recovery (power + vol-up simultaneously with power off) and try motofail2go again. make sure you are doing the bug report button combo correctly. just keep trying
When im doing motofail do i turn off my phone?

Homescreen is where you start the process.
Make sure you have unknown sources checked in settings and usb debugging turned on.
And when the process is successful will something
Happen? Like will the phone reboot or something?

My plans are to add a reboot toggle and the 1% battery mod. I already saw Dan's root method for Jb but I kept running into errors. When I got to adb shell near the last step no matter what I tried it would tell me no directory of that name so I might wait until a one click root shows up. Shouldn't be long now that we actually have a root method.

Copy and Paste is your friend.......
As long as you can booth into Linux just use Copy/Paste the whole time and pay attention when you have to create the password. This was super easy imo.

You never know what can happen. I was with the atrix 2 community about two phones ago and all there needs to be is a brave soul to root it and Roms will start coming. And the sooner it becomes rooted and unlocked(and we already have root now) the bigger the community will get. Ive seen it happen. Dont count the AHD and devs out so soon

[Q] Kingo Android Root possible?

Theres a new one click root solution floating around called Kingo Android Root. The website states it works on all version up to & including 4.3. It also includes a good number of sammy devices in its supported list. Im wondering if it will work for the ATT note 3 which doesnt have a root solution yet. Im willing to guinea pig it when I get my device but was just wondering if anyone happened to try it on a different version?

If the bootloader is locked it isn't going to work until an exploit is found.
Looking into it on other forums its said to be working on several bootloader locked phones specifically the xperia z. I dont see how the bootloader would affect it as its not tryingnto install recovery or anything other then granting superuser access.
