Hi, I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but I have tried searching countless times and found nothing. Maybe, I just can't decide how to word my question on Google, but I'll try here.
I want to know if there's a way to pair a regular (feature/smart) phone to the TouchPad running Android over bluetooth like in WebOS. WebOS originally allowed other WebOS phones, then allowed all phones. I know there's an app called "Tablet Talk" and others similar to it, but this only allow texting or accepting calls through a bluetooth headset.
I believe this was a really neat feature in WebOS. I was able to leave the phone on charge in another room and be able to make receive calls from my phone.
NOTE: I'm [bold]not[/bold] looking for GroveIP, Talkatone, Google Voice/SIP, Tablet Talk, Textap, etc...
Thank you.

Would it be possible to create an app where you could use your xoom as a BT headset/interface to make/receive calls that came into your phone?
Reason I ask is I had a bit of a play with an HP Touchpad for a few hours and after seeing some of the funky thing's it can do with a webos phone made me wonder if we could do the same thing with android..
I of course mean the royal we as I haven't got any skill in programming etc
My Streak 7 is mainly for texting these days, and it occurred to me that since I have it with me all the time it might be useful if I could make the Swype keyboard take the whole screen and tether it via Bluetooth to my 10" tablet?
Hardware wise, yes as you can already pretend to be a sixaxis and pair it with a PS3, software wise, i dont believe so.
Very least it obviously needs to be an external app as android cant do it on it's own. There might already be an app for it, but I'm pretty sure there's no free ones.
I wanted to use my venue as a bt headset with ventrilo but that doesnt exist at all, and it's conceptually the same thing; using the h/w in an android device and pairing it with another device.
Wouldn't mind paying for an app, and as we get to where tablets are moving into their second and third generations, I would think an app that lets you use your "old" tablet for another purpose would have a growing audience.
If anyone knows of such an app, please let me know
I just took a small trip and used the Tablet Talk linked via bluetooth to my Note phone with the Note synced via bluetooth to Ford SYNC. Purchased a Griffin car charger allegedly rated for 2 amps.
The good news. It worked, mostly. The charger does charge but no way in heck it puts out enough to run the tablet - didn't keep up with the battery so I will have to replace it.
Got a call - it showed on the nexus and I talked via SYNC. When I received the call the Copilot paused and Tablet Talk popped up, showing the name of the caller. I hung up the call from the Nexus. Everything worked great except I had no audio out of the Nexus 7. Gonna have to try to troubleshoot this.
I miss my Fusion
Sounds like quite the setup there...
If it's any consolation, in the brief time I've had when playing with Tablet Talk, I don't have audio-out either. I can control whether it goes to speakerphone or answer/hangup, amongst other things, but it's just acting like a remote and and audio sent or received is handled by the phone, rather than the tablet. I'm thinking it's a limitation of the app at this stage and that it may be fully functional in future versions. There was a message that came up when enabling the option to show incoming calls but I can't remember what it said now..

Thanks for the reply.
It appears at this point that enabling Tablet Talk ALSO cuts audio from Co-pilot. I still haven't had time to really attempt any troubleshooting though; could be some type of setting is wrong or it could be Tablet Talk does need to work on their software. I do like (not in car) the ability to send and receive texts but do wish the interface was a bit different.
Now to find a car charger that actually works.
If you want to use the phone part of TabletTalk, you must go in and enable it. It will make your tablet act like the phone when incoming calls comes in.
I just talked to dev a short bit ago, and there is a newer version about to be put up on Play Store..
i love that app, along with theming it to change the look and feel of it. it works flawlessly.
So, this may have been brought up already, I did try to search, but didnt come up with much.
So, i bought a Moto X, even after hearing the lenovo/google news. I figure that they cant ruin the device quickly enough to justify second-guessing my long and painstaking decision process.
Anyway, touchless control is pretty awesome. Ive been tinkering with it since i got it. I'm a long time android user, and have been using google now for some time. The problem is this.
I drive a 2013 Jeep, with a UConnect bluetooth hands-free system. It works for what its supposed to work for, i can make calls, stream audio, all is well. In fact its working better than it did on my old GNex. However, once I connect my motox to UConnect (that is, i get in, turn on the Jeep, and bluetooth associates), touchless control becomes unresponsive. In fact, it seems that even if i try to manually initiate a voice search, google now cant hear me. I can use the voice input for the keyboard, just not voice commands. It's almost like as soon as i'm paired to a bluetooth input, google now voice input/touchless control get turned off. Which to me seems odd.
I tried looking around in my settings, i cant seem to find a setting that tells the phone to do this. It just doesnt work.
Also, if i turn off bluetooth while the Jeep is still running, touchless/voice input starts working again.
I havent tried pairing it to another bluetooth headset to see if it does it then too, i'll update this thread once i've had a chance to try that.
Is this something others are experiencing? Is it supposed to do this for some safety feature, and I dont know it?
Thanks!
I don't have a vehicle with bluetooth, you may have better luck posting your question in the "Question and Answer" area.

Good luck with finding a fix!
Apparently the various signs and warnings telling me to post questions in the q&a section dont apply to me.
Thanks, I'll post over there.
Mods, feel free to lock/delete/destroy with fire this thread.
Let me preface this by saying that I wanted to post this in the apps section but there's only 4 threads there LOL...
My Note 3 and my wife's S4 (if I remember correctly) had Handsfree Mode which would read aloud texts while connected to the bluetooth in the car. Since the S5 does not have this feature on AT&T, I'm looking for alternatives? There's one app that I used a long time ago called Text By Voice. What I didn't like about that is it kept the bluetooth connection in "listening" mode all the time, so you couldn't listen to the radio, or anything else... Or maybe there could be a way to get this working with Google Now a la Moto X style?
Check out Agent. It's driving mode does what you are asking and is quite smart about it. It will enact automatically. It can do other phone controls, too.

Seems flawed... I sent the developer the following message:
While I do like the driving agent. I don't like the fact that I can only have one Bluetooth profile though. I have 3 vehicles and would like it to work on all of them not just some. I have been somewhat able to work around this with trigger. When an SMS comes through the driving agent, it will play through the vehicles audio but then switches to the phones speaker for replies. It also seems to be killing the battery somehow. In the battery settings, android system stays on even when the agent is not active.
Any other alternatives?
