[Q] Wrong Battery State - Motorola Droid Bionic

I recently started playing with some new ROMs and have found that I like Liquid Smooth the most.
The battery drops stupid fast (extended battery only 8 hours, same usage factors as .232 which I got close to two days per charge). Thought it was the ROM until I tried Eclipse and it had the same issue.
So I booted back into .232 and the battery does not read the same percentage. In .232 I have 95% battery as where the custom ROM will show 86%.
What is going on and is there a fix?
Only thing I found was this (different phone) but was never resolved.

battery dies at 20%?

hi i just recently upgraded to the modaco froyo rom. every time my battery percentage hits 20% the phone dies like its at zero thus making 20% unusable. ive wiped the phone, cache, and the battery stats. ive also drained it from 100-20 multiple times to recalibrate the sensors. any ideas?

call HTC and tell them you have a broken battery if you truly have performed all of these steps. You can try manually removing the battery stats first though. I forget where the file is or where it's located but you can search around, I'm sure you will find it.
The thing is I've been using the phone for a while and it just statlrted happening

ive noticed this at 15% thought it was a one time fluke (flashed a new intersect raven kernel yesterday before work) then it happened today i was going to flash back to the default froyo kernal and see if that did it but now im worried my battery might be screwed

Did this happen before you upgraded to Froyo?
Did you update the radio a long with froyo?

I noticed that too when I intentionally let it run down to 15%, seems like its a fail-safe if you will of the phone to limit damage to either the phone itself or maybe the battery. I'm just guessing, but its not something wrong with the rom, it seems thats the cutoff point, I could be wrong though...

Yep, i have 2 ideas:
1) Read the forum rules
2) Post questions under Nexus One Q&A instead of Android Development.

Effective Fix
Hey All,
I recently had the same issue with my S4 and I came across a very cheap but effective fix. There is an app on the play store called "Real Battery" that scales your battery level down to the percentage it dies it. My phone kept dying at 30% so I set the indicator to 30% and it scaled my battery level so that 30% is my new 0%. It lets you know more accurately when your phone is about to die, so that you won't be fooled when your phone says it has charge. Check it out, its called Real Battery.

Extreme Battery Drain

Hello, it's me again with problems. I have an extremely battery drain, even Juice Deffender can't handle on this. When I put the phone on charger, when he turns off after 0 % battery status, indicator shows me 50 % min after only few seconds on charger, and it's fully charged for half an hour maybe. When I turn on 3g and connect to Net, from 100 % to 0% is ONLY 15 min ?!?! I have cm-7-20120812-NIGHTLY-cooper ROM, but when I had offical 2.3.6, it was the same problem. Can I check some-how what is the problem- software, calibration or battery? I did a few calibration without any success. I'm really sorry on my very bad English. I will be grateful if anybody can redirect me on the right topic. Thanks in advance
3G eats a huge battery. I would not expect anything nice from it. But seems that your problem is a bit more problematic. How long do you have your phone?
Make sure you are charging your phone until its actually full not just when it says 100% look here for more details:

Did you try wiping battery stats in CWM or recalibrating it?
I've tried wipe stats with Battery Calibration, and with CWM wipe battery stats. I've tried different ROMs, DroidACE, official 2.3.6, cooper nightly ROMs, and all of them have same problem. I've noticed that the battery is a little thicker in the middle, before it was flat, and now is a little convex in the middle. I've tried also discharging and charging for a 5+ hours, didn't help me. literally be emptied by 20 min of Use

Sheesh guys. Battery Calibration doesn't affect battery life on your phone. It's just for accurate readings -_-"

Yeah man, Ive got the same problem.
If I charge it for about 3-4 Hours, I get a max of 5 Mins or so, with Wi-fi on.
When the Battery is about 10%, and I put it to charge, It immediately says 99% charged.
I've changed 2 roms, and still no effect, infact, its got worse.
Even Juice defender (even the ultimate version) dosent work, Not even Underclocking.
I saw the battery recalibrating thing and Ive wiped the battery stats, still no use.
I think there's a problem with the battery itself?
Im just sick of it.

I also think that the battery itself has a problem, not any ROM. I'll go to service for a few days and I'll tell you about what was the problem.

Yeah, I suspect it is a problem with the battery.
Anyways, thanks man
If it's deformed, then your battery's life is over, that's it, get a new one.
You can try the freezing method to try and squeeze it for a bit of juice:
Charge to 100, Plastic wrap, in the freezer for maybe an hr (not too long), take it out, put it in your phone, charge it till it says fully charged, turn on your phone and check duration.
seems a deep sleep issue
Just abuy a new battery. I suggest a Anker branded one. Search a battery review topic at the Accesoires section. If you buy the Anker 1400mAh, your battery life will be even better than the original battery life. And Anker is trusted and cheap.

I listened to your advice and bought a new battery, now I'll see what was the problem, battery or maybe hardware/ROM. I'm charging it now. Any advice how to charge new battery? Advice for scripts or ROMs? I'm going to use nightly cooper cm 7.2 and juice deffender. What about cm9 and this model?

Since we're in 2012, I'm guessing it's a lithium ion battery.
Just plug it in and wait for some time (~15 minutes)after it reaching 100% to actually fully charge.
It would be best if you don't let it discharge below 20-30%.
Read more about lithium ion batteries by searching around the web for more info.

So, How did it go?
Was there a problem in the battery?
or, is something wrong in the phone?
there was a problem in battery, I bought a new battery, not Samsung, but also has 1350 mAh capacity, and it's 2nd time on charging, life is about 2 days of using, average 2-3 h 3g, and playing games, half hour voice and maybe 30 sms and mails, and for me this is a very huge improvement from 15 minutes before death battery. Cheers, sorry again on my bad English

Hmm, I did get slight improvement once i calibrated using another app.
But Im still getting a new battery
anyone knows why phone's display blink-up randomly? I saw that earlier, and I thought that was because of battery, but obviously, wasn't that. It's totaly random. And, I have another question, I've played with *#*#4636#*#* code, and sometimes phone can't receive or sent messages, except when preffered network type is GSM only and only after turning on and again off airplane mode. I have cooper cm 7.2 newest nightly ROM.

I had the same issue when I was using Elegant white by TAZ.
But Then I flashed a fix for it.
I suggest you should too get in touch with the dev.
But first, flash the rom again.

Thank you. Anyone knows where is the official topic for cm 7.2 nightly cooper? I found one topic in development section, but at the end of it someone wrote that topic is closed on developer's request. And where I can find changelog? I saw that there is newest nightly update from 19.8. http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=cooper

Usual battery drain

Hi,
So I bought an Anker 1800mah battery about two months ago, thought that would improve battery life.
Thing is, even though I own the I9000 a very long time, I don't know how battery life should be.
So my question is...
For example, if I have data and GPS on and screen on, is it normal that I get 1% drain every 1.5-2 minutes?
Using ICS CM9.

Turn gps off and set brightness to around 20%. You should then lose 1% roughly every 3:30 - 4:00 minutes.
Weird I lose 1% every 10 min sometimes more

Hi all,
First, from what I remember, my old battery acted somewhat the same. Also, I used it for a year and a half, and have totally destroyed it because of all the calibrations. By a calibration I mean draining the battery to 0%, charging to 100%, doing it about 3-4 times... Only later I have learned that it is not healthy to the battery to do that so many times. That's why I only did this 3 times with my new battery (Manufacturer instructions).
Now, thing is, I gave the example with the data and GPS on and screen on because I used GPS for navigations a lot of times. So, I can't turn off GPS. About the brightness, its set to automatic all the time, so I see no reason to modify it myself.
I'm currently using CM9 Blueberry edition but I'm planning to change to JB in a few days. Even though I doubt it, any chance battery life will improve with JB?
Latrop, with the same settings? Having data + GPS + screen on all the time (10 min)? Are you sure?
Mine did not sure bout yours

Your battery is probably OK. First thing to know is that any time you flash a ROM it takes the battery a week or two to resyncronize. Second is that at best the Vivid is prone to battery problems. Several people have gone to the trouble of replacing the charging port. I always recommend an external battery charger and a spare battery.
Best of luck
I've had issues with many of the 4.2.2 JB roms which had battery drain issues because the phone would not go to deep sleep. It has something to do with Google Play services. After using the built in battery info and Better Battery Stats to narrow it down to that, it has been suggested that you simply go into apps and clear data for whatever app is causing the wakelock to see if it fixes things for you.
It could also be due to a bad flash where simply reflashing fixed things for me.

[Q] EMERGENCY!!! BAttery draining like a rocket

CAn anyone suggest how to fix battery drain im on fxp Cm 12 02/09 and i turned everthing off and battery on low brightness. Also this happend before on other roms.NEEd a fix please reply fast:crying::crying:
What other ROM's did this happen on? Were they also Lollipop ROM's? I personally experienced this once on CM12, my phone went from 70-ish % to 1% overnight by doing absolutely nothing! My advice is to come back to Lollipop when it is more stable, it's way too buggy right now to be used as a daily driver IMO.
ok
Ok ill try crystalpa 8.50 and will let you know about the battery. Well i dont in the first place why my battery is draining it wsnt draining last week i use to leave my phone overnight. It used to be 100% to 95%.NOw its 100% to 79% which is bull****:crying::crying:

Same here with the battery. I returned to stock 4.3 to see will the problem remains.
i have been using one plus x charger since few days.. battery charges from 14% to 70% in around 30 minutes (with 3g onn!!)
What could be the problem for this? Few days ago i didn't have problems with battery and then suddenly yesterday morning it went to 50%, though i charged it at 100% the night before.
