Can t scale CPU frequency in JB - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Neither setcpu nor no frills cpu nor rom toolbox could scale the frequencies. They just stuck at 200 min and 1000 max(I am not looking for oc). How to fix this?
Example: I want 400min and 800 max

800 max you get with powersawe on. For min I do not know. Wait for kernel development.

Help needed on CPU frequency

Hi all,
Please help in changing the cpu frequency from 450 mhz to 1 ghz.
Recently i was using battery saver on my optimus 2x which is running on latest MIUI on latest etana kernal with 725 baseband.
Since i was using battery saver with level 4 profile, i installed the latest MIUI x.x.40 and then my CPU frequency was set to 450 mhz has default. I m now mot able to change it to 1ghz as default.
Please help to change my cpu freqency from 450 to 1 ghz.

Can't you change it in
settings => performance => Processor
and change the max cpu frequency or set the governor to performance?
Thanks for the reply, i tried and now able to change it..
Sorry for such a noob question..

Is there any downsides with underclocking?

I noticed there is a CPU control in "ROM Toolbox". I was thinking about underclocking it to 1.2 Ghz.
So my question is, are there any downsides with doing this except that the phone getting a little bit slower?
EDIT: Does it matter with what app i underclock? Setcpu or ROM Toolbox..
Stock kernels does not support this tweaks

Im rooted on Speednote kernel.. My bad, should have mentioned it..
Speedmod does not support those tweaks... You need the notecore OC in order to be able to do so..
It's the same whatever app you use.. To change the frequency... Setcpu /etc

I´ve already tried and it is able to underclock, my question was if there are any downsides with doing this..
Nop

Why uc it slows performance I would try and find a kernel you can undervolt that will save heat and battery because it useing less voltage

Put it this way. I am running Android 0.8 with the matching kernel (can't remember name) but that UC the graphics I believe and also has options to have min / Max speeds on CPU.
My Max speed is ALWAYS set to 800mhz. I'll be honest, I don't really notice any massive lag or slow down, the odd moment here and there when loading apps or taking a photo, but nothing major.
Battery life is a lot better when underclocked obviously. Give it a try, you may find it perfect for your requirements... it certainly is for mine.

Underclock under 200mhz has some downsides regarding performance/battery consumprion. U should checj the notecore kernel (hydra kernel) and search in there gavin's explanation

Well, i planing on just underclokcing my MAX speed (1.4 Ghz) down to 1.0 or 1.2 Ghz..

Hi Rivan =) ..if you from some reason just want to underclock to 1.0 or 1.2 you can safely do that with rom toolbox or setcpu. There should not be any downsides from doing it in any of those two apps as far as I know, except for that your phone will become a little slower as you mentioned yourself.

Depends on why you are underclocking.
If you are looking for better battery life then you are better off flashing HydraCore (formerly NoteCore) as this is an undervolted kernel, then selecting a low drain governor using ROM Toolbox Pro.

How can i overclock GPU on Custom Kernels?

Hi guys,i am using iodak kernel v05.I am looking at GPU frequency at the moment.GPU frequency is 200 Mhz.How can i improve this clock?

Use tegra overclock or tricksterMOD
You can install it from Google play

It is not 200 it goes from 200 to 520, but you can OC it to 600 or even change all clocks. Look at kernel topic to find out how. Tegra overclock just sets all clocks to max freq (416 on stock and 520 on mine kernel).

Hmm.In your kernel clock sets automaticly.Thats right ?

Is this normal for one?

Well it's simple when I load an app to read or modify my cpu frequencies, every app I've tried shows my min and max frequencies as the same (@1.7), I think this is a bug, I don't think my phone is running at full speed always
Btw my phone is running stock ROM 1.29.1540.17 stick kernel
What do you think?

stock kernel tends to do that. minimum jumps from 384 to 1728. happens to me all the time on stock kernel

But it doesn't means we are running @ full speed isn't it? I don't think so because I got almost 5 hrs screen on and 14 hrs stand by

Mine does the same. I just set minimum to 384 and frequency lock it.

I think whenever there's a heavy load the kernel temporarily jumps the minimum to the maximum. It actually keeps the minimum at 384 otherwise.
At least this is what my research has led me to believe.
Guessing its to make things quicker (like opening apps, waking the phone up). There's no reason to frequency lock it.

Cm 10.1 with iodiak v7 issue

Basically my freqs are min 750mhz 1nd max 1500mhz by default. When i try to change min to 51mhz , and i go back , it doesnt save and immediatly goes back to 750mhz wich results to aloot of battery drain. Does anyone have a sollution for this? Or should i use a different kernel?

Try 102 mhz maby that works

actually its 102 mhz on reality dont panic just look at trickster MOD Cpu stats and you will find out that all frequencies are being used ...u will not have this issue on any other kernel...its just on iodak's kernel ....its my personal test
