SIM Unlock the T679M - Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G

Been looking for a free way, but looks like there isn't one. So anyone know of a place that does it online for $10 or so?

call your carrier, or tmobile if your in us, or whatever carrier your using and ask for the unlock code

That's insane, with T-Mobile they did it for free for me. However if you can't get them to provide, which I think they are required to, check eBay. Make sure they can unlock it first though before paying.

That's not insane its just being greedy, the other side to the story is this phone is old and I got an upgrade that replaced the T679. Just want to give the phone to a friend so that he can use it but they still charge you a flat fee of $75.
That Bell Canada for you

$75 is outrageous! I've looked around a few months ago... Average price for this phone is about $30

Expensive SIM Unlock

Hi guys, I'm a fellow XDA member from the HOX+ neck of the woods. Just got my dad an AT&T Xperia TL and wanted to unlock it for him since he uses it most overseas and was shocked at the cost difference between unlocking my HOX+ (also AT&T) and the Xperia TL...$15 vs $40...and 1hr vs 5 days.
What gives?
Unfortunately there's not much you can do about it. If he needs a sim unlocked phone that badly, he shouldn't have bought one on a contract. You could try searching online, but in my experience it's only shady websites offering sim unlocks. On the other hand, if it's absolutely necessary to sim unlock, $40 is not an extreme amount of money.

Days and paid your bill
Yes, but that is stated under Additional. So the way I read it is that you first have to fulfill your contract and then, when you have no bills unpaid, they provide a sim unlock.

When I switched from my Samsung S3 to my Xperia TL, I just asked for the unlock code on an online chat session. They gave me the unlock code for the S3 immediately during the chat. But, I guess it could have been because I was selling the S3.
I ended up forking over the $39 for the unlock code. Unfortunately, need to use the phone abroad next week, can't wait the 60 days
Considering I paid $0.01 for the phone from Amazon, $39 doesn't seems like much then.
Just need to wait for the unlock code now, takes up to 6 days. We'll post an update when I get it.

Can I SIM unlock the phone once rooted?

If so, how do I do it?
Buy an unlock code online or contact your mobile provider, who after 3 months will charge around 15 quid for it

the best would be contact your network provider. these unlock sites are mostly crap and scam.
Ah, I thought there would be some special way to do it (for free) once rooted. No worries, I'll contact Three at some point.
I have heard of owners obtaining a SIM unlock code for £15, but there wasn't any need to wait three months

Not necessarily true mate I paid €20.81 last week with www.mobileunlocks.com and got the unlocking code within 7 minutes, you can't argue with that!

SIM Unlocking for free?

This may have been asked before but I'll ask again, is there no way of getting this phone SIM unlocked for free as of yet?
When i got my phone first thing I done was get it unlocked to all networks which cost me €20.81, I've had to leave my phone in for repairs after I borked it by formatting system and stupidly not having a nandroid backup, I've been informed that I'll just be getting a new handset but this is likely to be locked to o2 where i purchased the phone and im with Tesco Mobile so unless there is another method that's free that i have yet to come across then I'll have to pay again to get the phone unlocked, and that's not good.
When i had a Galaxy S3 I had an apk.called Galaxy SIM unlock which done the trick nicely, why isn't there something similar for this phone to save people from having to pay?

Given no responses im assuming there's no free method as of yet.
I have seen this on eBay, this guy has pretty good feedback and is cheap, can anyone vouch for this seller?

I have tried 5 places to get my phone unlocked but none of them have the code, some were saying try back in 2 weeks time and your code might show up on the server, got refunded straight away.
I think they all get them off HTC so the eBay unlock sellers seem to be the cheapest option.

You might have to wait a while if o2 are giving you a new phone as the unlock codes for they're new batch on HTC ones don't seem to be on the server where they get them from.

I'm delighted to say I'm in possession of a SIM unlocked One the bootloader is locked but I'd have expected that anyway and I can unlock that anytime but tried my Tesco Mobile and UK Giff Gaff SIMs and both are fine so that's good i don't have to shell out again.

Strange question, but are you absolutely sure that it's now unlocked? As giffgaff and Tesco mobile all run on the O2 network anyway, and will both work in O2 locked handsets. To be sure, I'd try inserting a Vodafone, 3 or EE SIM just to be sure.

The only SIM cards ive got are Tesco Mobile and Giff Gaff, well i have an o2 one too but i dont use that.
To be honest even if its not unlocked it's fine for me as they are the only 2 SIM's i use.

Switching from Sprint to T-mobile, can I keep this phone?

Hi all, because sprint is removing my discount (I've been a customer for over 10 years) it is cheaper to move to T-mobile, but it has already been over 14 days and I cannot return my current sprint phone.
I currently have it rooted and unlocked, but I'm wondering if it is possible for me to just somehome keep this phone, but use it on the T-mobile network instead of having to sell this, and than buying a new one and losing money.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated,
Thank you!
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't they make it illegal to take your phone to a new carrier without your current carriers permission. Granted I do not know the details. But from what I understand the networks are not compatible so I do not think you would be able to do that. One is CDMA and the other is GSM.
I'm surprised no one's answered this simple question.
To answer your question, no. No way in hell. Sell your phone and get it T Mobile Phone simple as that.

They removed your discount when you upgraded. Go back into the store, fill out the form and fax it to Sprint. You will then have your discount back. You just have to re-verify every 2 years.

No, for two reasons...
1. The phone won't do GSM inside the US.
2. Even if it could do GSM in the US, it lacks UMTS 850, UMTS 1700 and LTE 1700, hence performance on T-Mobile as a smartphone will be poor.

[Q] help unlocking at&t galaxy note 3 SM-N900A N900AUCUBMJ5

Already gave my money away to one of those phone unlock websites (scam). With no results.

Cellunlocker.net is reliable.

I checked reviews on their website and a lot of people has been ripped off.
They also used other couple names, Unlock-Code-Warehouse.com, Unlock-Code-World.com, TheUnlockDepot.com
Well unfortunately, there is no way to do it yourself without MI9 or earlier firmware. You will either have to contact AT&T or buy it from a legit seller.
