VXLR-OA Version 2.1.2 (Vortex/Liberty Reloaded - Open Android)
Please read this post all the way through before installing. This will minimize bug/issue reporting redundancies.
In short, I've picked up where SlothyDX left off on Vortex-Liberty-Reloaded ROM and finished the incomplete parts, as well as adding my own components to it.
Using the Aroma Installer, I've been able to really offer some customization options pre-install and post-install for the end user. Things like 8pt MultiTouch, Disabling Key Lights and more. I've also added an option in the installer to center, or right-align the statusbar clock. Until I can integrate the CM bits for clock centering into the roms customization menu system, this will have to do. Its a little bit buggy, and may require a couple reboots for changes to usually stick, but its functioning.
And again, with Aroma, comes the ability to change those options when you want! Don't like the centered clock after installing the patch? Just load up the installer again through CWM, and instead of choosing the ROM installation, choose "Optional Components" and revert back to normal! Same goes for any other installed optional components. In the future I will be adding more options to the components section of the installer, like 1click Custom OC/UV settings, Custom App install, etc...
Heres a video of the installer (beta,, actual installer may vary).

I've also fixed up this ROM's Customization Menu. The only issue I had was with the Pulldown Text code. It keeps blacking out the statusbar when you change the text (icons come back once you get a notification) and it doesn't stick on reboot, so for now it will remain disabled. I've put the full date in its place.
I removed all the fluff from the install (the nvitems update, logo, kernel, recovery, cdt, cdrom, devtree), so this ROM just installs the system image and the relevant userdata for vortex to run.
Please read Known Bugs/Issues before reporting issues to this thread!
With all that said, here you go.
Features:
-Stock, de-Blurred-based, so everything works & amazing battery life!
-Aroma Installer with Ability to Flash ROM and Optional Components, OR just flash optional components.
-Fixed Liberty Customization Menu.
-Universal carrier bits added (Able to install on multiple carriers with Minimal data issues)
-Universal SBF Install (doesn't matter what SBF version you're on)
-Wizards Hijack BootMenu
-Updated Apk's
-Updated UI
-CM7 Generic Mms.apk (for universal carrier aspect)
-A Few system tweaks
-Lightflow Integration (LED Control)
-New Boot Animation
What Works:
Everything.
What doesn't Work:
Pulldown Text in Customization Menu is disabled.
Find something that doesnt work then PM me, and Good For You!!
Disclaimer:
The usual.. I claim ZERO responsibility for bricked Devices. If you can't follow instructions or are not sure of how to install a custom ROM, Don't Do It!
Installation:
-Boot to CWM
-Run Installer
-Choose options in installer.
-Reboot
-Wait
-Profit!
Known Issues / Bugs:
Aroma Installer has a Bug inherent in it that will freeze the installation if the back button is pressed. This happens only on certain phones, and apparently ours is one. Just don't hit the back button. If you do, just pull the battery and reboot.
When changing Clock Options (incl. first boot), it may be necessary to reboot 2x for changes to take effect. In worst case random scenarios a battery pull may be needed if you encounter a boot loop. Change will take effect on next boot. Does not impede performance. Working on a fix. You may try wiping cache before rebooting as a fix as well.
When changing Battery options, the battery animated icon doesnt disappear/reappear right away. To fix this, give it some time, reboot, or change signal status to kickstart the statusbar.
CRT OFF Animation has a tendency to not stick when you alter lockscreen settings or reboot the system (bug is intermittent and does not impact performance)
Updated version of YouTube causes Google Play Services error. Do not update YouTube -- stick with the stock version loaded on the ROM
Things to Note:
-Theres a Wifi Fix for all users NOT on a 621 / 604 Kernel built into the installer. Failure to flash this fix on non-621/604 kernels will result in broken wifi.

Thanks for the extra touches for and excellent Rom Fission 1.2.
Update: re-added the build.prop tweaks for the DX
Love the transparent mods. Thanks.
Will this work on Fission 1.1? Judging by the 1.2 changelog, I see no need for me to update to it. So I was wondering if this will also work on 1.1
Thank you

It should, although I cant be for sure but your version number in your build.prop will be wrong though.
a new update that now includes both a CM black MMS.apk and a Black Google Voice by me enjoy
Updated with a black Gtralk
Ok everyone... I reviewed the changes to the latest Fission update
In The Framework.apk and the Services.jar, the only change implemented was the transparent drop-down, which is already implemented in the JARupdate.
So the long story short is, the current update will without issue work on the latest release.

Great rom, ran it all day, I mainly use it to listen to music, calls and tether. Love the drop down menus.installed 40 apps and no lag. Other than some of the Chinese not translated and not having lockscreen or not finding music controls it was great. Just miss the CM7 theme chooser, their themes don't work to well on this

Ah, nice. Is NeoKernel as good as the one included?
Hello! a great assembly, I would like to know whether the updated assembly in the near future?
Do you have some screens?
Hi Styxie
I've been using this rom ever since you posted it, as my daily driver. Great work, thanks a lot.
The main reason why I tried it was, because I always was short on storage and got error messages with CM nightly. So I tried this one together with open gapps pico. It solved my problems of low storage and lagging phone.
But I do experience the battery drain issue mentioned by steinarlundemo as well.
Do you plan to address this issue or is there an interim solution to fix that?
Best regards
dribber

Ever since I switched to Lollipop I battled with the same problem. I tried various things to improve the situation, but none of them worked to my satisfaction.
Now with LiquidSmooth the problem is gone.
That's what I did:
I resized my internal partitions (hint: not your internal SD card is the problem, but system and other partitions), used open gapps pico for starters and only added what I actually need.
Result, all my installed apps (and I have tons of them) are still updating successfully. No more annoying messages that an app couldn't be updated.
As a short relief you can try to use some app like clean master to delete caches and junk. It helped me for a while, but since the apps are growing it was only lasting for a short time. And I had to run the cleaner in between app updates to make it work.
So if you are looking for a more permanent solution, the repartitioning is the right choice.
What is left is the annoying battery drain, but it seems that this release will not be maintained. Or the dev is just too busy to send us a reply.
I still keep my hopes up that somebody will find a solution for this, so I can keep using my aged phone for a little while longer
