greatly aprreciated thanks
just download any theme that is for CM-4.2.11.1 and start replacing the images with the ones you want for your theme. I dont really know if Cyan is still putting out theme templates, i havent seen one in a while.

yeah i just did that...now to take out the google apps from the htc rom :/
making a little Gnome-ish theme
Make sure to post it up id like to see it =)
I have a default cm theme template I do for each rom updates. Mostly for my own themes use and to get back to stock when things break by flashing themes. It only has like open source apps though, so it doesn't come with stuff like gmail and market and youtube and such. You can always add the apk you theme of it inside the /app folder and sign it again if you want to do that.
I could upload it and post it if anyone wants.

it would un-theme every .apk that is in that .zip. I think there is a stock metamorph somewhere, you could take every image out of the folders except for the app icon image and do it that way.
oh ok...thanks man

It'll only get you back to default cyan rom if the sirmez theme didn't touch any of the google apps. Otherwise you'll see most things back to default and things like gmail/youtube/market may stay themed.

try the framework-res.apk in system\framework
NOT sure it gets unpacked anywhere
The default wallpaper for themes, are stored in the framework-res.apk as silashack mentioned. You can open this file with 7z or something similar and the wallpaper is located in res/drawable/default_wallpaper and res/drawable-hdpi/default_wallpaper or res/drawable-hdpi-v4/default_wallpaper

Does anyone have the 2 blue wallpaper images that come with launcher pro? I can't find them anywhere and only managed to get it while on the lite bluesky theme. I don't want to add them theme again as I'm running darkys rom and it is super quick. If anyone could post the files I would be most grateful!
System/Wallpaper on some .

so i tried to do a quick test to see if i could edit one of these theme chooser themes...
I took a random apk theme, opened up my favorite 7zip and properly renamed some battery icons and threw em in there, put the apk on my sd card and tried to install it...it failed,(app not installed) I tried to copy the apk to system/app...didnt work..data/app..didnt work..ive tried this with 2 different apk's as templates...cant get it to work.
could someone point me in the right direction so i can learn to build themes compatible with the theme chooser please?
all I've found is a few dead end threads on the subject....
buuuuuump.....

nope, thanks alot!
I figured out why the apk would not install though, thanks to a few people on another forum...I needed to delete the "META-INF" folder and re sign the apk. I used apkmanager...
Maybe you though that there were not so many themes for CM7, but now i brought you a pack of themes for cyanogemod 7. So for the people that do not know how to install these themes i will give you the instructions here:
First of all unzip the file. you will notice that there are a lot of APKs. transfer all those apks to your phone.
after that, download an app that is called "root explorer" you will need this aplication, go and enter to that app, once you are there, select all the apks that are on CM7 themes file, y copy all the themes and paste it on " system/app ". after pasting one by one give inverted L permission. I hope you understand everything that i typed.
Reboot you phone and go to theme chooser and you will see all the themes there,
All these themes are awesome, you will like it.
good bye

Unfortunately no, but there is a long method by which you can use some stuff from the theme you want to use as base. The steps are:
1) Extract every qmg file from each apk within a theme and rename the extracted apks to zip.
2) using command prompt run the following command:
Code:
ren *.qmg *.png
it will auto change the extension from qmg to png.
3) Transfer the pngs to mobile phone and look at the images you want to use
4) create your theme and individually replace the qmg which you identified from pngs with the base themes qmg. That's it.
I know its a tiresome task
nice:good: i made my first theme
Thanks, this is something..

First, thank you for posting this tool.
I'm still old skool in terms of theming, hard coding the system and adding/changing images to my preference.
It seems the the overlay themes are the direction it been headed for sometime so if the tool is easy enough and less time consuming, I suppose I could switch, plus the compatibility for many more devices and users is quite nice!
As far as converting/viewing qmg images install this to your phone and within the app select the apk of which you wish to view the qmg images and bam! It's all done, converted to png's viewable on pc and everything!
Anyways, thanks again!

I also found out one more way as this alp was not working for me on s7. Further, the above mentioned method is not working as the tool requires you to sign the apk with a certificate which you create with this tool itself and changing the files i think damages the signature. Nevertheless the 2nd way is to rename the qmg files to png. Transfer them to phone and then through the phone edit them. Add a small difference so that you can save it. Once you do, it will save it in png format.
