I have a BIG PROBLEM!!!!!!!!
I rooted my Dell Streak 7 from T-Mobile it has the sim card slot so I guess it's not the wifi only one. i installed rom manager and flashed clockworkmod recovery 3.0.2.0 everything was working fine. Then I downloaded a rom an boot into recovery when i went to install zip from sd card i clicked on it and said no files found. Wherever I click says that. I dont know what t do anymore!!!!
Also, my friend sold it to me because it freezes a lot out of nowhere. I thought that maybe upgrading the firmware or installing a kernel could fix it but I cant even flash a rom. I have a optimus one and it never gives me any trouble.
I tried googling for answers and looked all over xda but couldn't find a solution.
Please help me!!!!! Thank you in advance!!!

LOL, you didn't need to flash CWR to upgrade to honeycomb. Just download the correct update.pkg and using the stock recovery, flash the package.
So what do I do now? format the whole thing? and where can I get that update?

Look for links here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Dell_Streak_7#Official and then fastboot the stock recovery. Once you have the stock recovery, you can install the HC Update.pkg.
I have a bigger problem now, the ds7 everytime i turn it on now it shows cwm recovery mode, i did a android backup and i restore it, reboot and still shows recovery after reboot. What do I do?

You may want to NVflash back to Froyo with this: http://d-h.st/iXc and then from that stock recovery install the HC Update.pkg. From there you can Fast boot CWM or TRWP.
kind of the same problem

I tried to go back to 2.2, but the orginal problem is still there (stuck in boot loop shows the dell logo and does nothing else) I know it isn't bricked can get into fastboot and nvflash. (it is a dell streak 7 4g (t-mobile)). I know there is something I am doing wrong I just haven't figured out what it is. Any advice would be great. This is a different device than the other dell streak I asked about earlier...

Hey guys,
I have rooted a couple phones and do have a little experience in doing so with instruction. However, I am still a noob. I successfully rooted my LG Thrill today and went on to flash the cyanogenmod on it. I put the LG Thrill recovery file in the sdcard root and flashed it. That originally did not allow me to use Rom Manager. I then just for the fun of it used Rom Manager to flash the Optimus 2X recovery file. It worked! I was able to download ROMs. So I downloaded CM7 (the stable version). It got stuck at the end of the download and i couldn't even get the phone to shut down. So I took out the battery and now the phone is stuck in bootloop. I got into CWM and checked the backup and restore options. I isn't showing a restore point before I tried flashing. I have been looking through the forums now for more than 6 hours straight. I can't seem to find any solutions. What do I do? Please help.

If you consider yourself a noob, why'd you so it? ._.
Anyways, head on over to the Development section and find the One Click Recovery.
Once it's installed, you can install a nightly of cyanogenmod via the recovery you just installed.
Once cyanogenmod is installed, do a factory reset, and voila! You should be up and running.
Sent from my LG Thrill 4G
I did it because I have done it with other phones just fine. I didn't know the Thrill was going to be so complicated to do. Thanks for the tip, I will try it tonight and post my results. Lucky I can use my old Inspire (which is flashed with cm7 )

Do you mean the One Click ClockWork Recovery? I already have CWR on the phone and can access it but I can't get it to factory reset. If there is another one click recovery utility, I can't seem to find it, just the CWR utilities. I have downloaded the P925 dll and bin files if those will help.

Well if you have it, then download a nightly of cyanogenmod and then factory reset.

Which nightly would you suggest? I have the full-24 zip I can try pushing to the sd card
I put the cyanogenmod on the sd card and installed with a factory reset via CWM. It has now fully booted up. I wish I would have seen how easy that was. Thanks guys!!

okay so I thought bricking android would be complicated but as it turns out it's quite simple.
Please cut me some slack because I am a n00b at all this. I am already googling for a solution and looking on forums but I haven't found anything YET so after a desperate hour of googling I thought of posting here (I will keep on trying to find a solution though).
Here is what I did:
A long while ago I rooted my Galaxy S. Rom was ClockworkMod (recovery says ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.0.5) and the kernel was Talon. No problem with this.
Now I wanted to do a factory reset so I dialed that number yo need for a factory reset. I got a red text message warning me NOT to touch any button and it would reboot. The phone rebooted and I think I got into the recovery mode.
The icon was a top cat in an orange circle with an arrow. I guess that's part of the Talon kernel.
Anyways on recovery mode screen I saw an option called "wipe/factory reset" I've selected it - I was told it can't be undone- I've said OK- It said everything went fine so I selected reboot.
Now the phone won't reboot. It is stuck in a loop. It will always try to reboot.
So all I see is a GALAXY S i9000 screen followed by a Talos screen with a loading bar followed by the GALAXY S i9000 screen again and it will just loop.
No idea what to do :C
help, please! thanks a million everyone!
Try flash the talon kernel again or if u got a rom on your SD card flash that.
If this doesn't work.search for ezbase 3.0 and follow instructions on how to flash a rom with ODIN.
U can also find ezbase on "insanity rom" thread in the op(1 of the links)
And now your phone is recovered

well I've tried to put an update.zip on the internal storage of the phone because I don't have an external SD card.
I mounted the phone as mass storage device in the recovery mode but my win xp 32 bit would say it is a Samsung Galaxy S but there was an error with the new hard ware and it couldn't be mounted fff
so no idea what to do now?
This is normal, you delated youre whole System. First of all dont panik you able to enter ist downloadmode ? I have managed to copy an update.zip file I've found on my computer to the phone but the download mode gives me an error and says it can't install it.
Can you link me to the files I need to install on it with the help of the download mode? Thanks a lot
so I have already tried installing different roms which seemed to have worked fine
I have tried just any random rom (Simplicity) I could find on this forum. It installed but I am still stuck in a boot loop. I don't see the Talon graphic anymore but the Galaxy S animation but I am still stuck in a loop.

A friend of mine suggested that I try Cyanogenmod, so I decided to flash my Galaxy Mini. The first problem was the bootloop, and no matter how many times I wiped the phone, it was always stuck at the Android text. So I decided to try the Honeycomb mod. Same happened. So I decided to flash it with Android 2.3.6 from sammobile.com. At last, it started working. However, Google Play still sees every application as "installed" (but of course they aren't), and when I try to delete from GP, nothing happens. After trying to install other applications, I realized that I cannot install anything from the market. Any idea how I could solve this problem? I would be very grateful.

Yes I did. I used CWM 5.0.2.6. The funny part is that after being turned off 3 times, Google Play started working But if there's a solution to the bootloop problem I would love to hear it. I searched this forum and the internet and nothing, even though I followed a cyanogenmod wiki's guide.

So I downloaded the new recovery, flashed it via Odin, and now nothing works. When I enter recovery it says that it can't mount /cache/log and /cache/recovery (I think it says these two). I looked around and found that it could be stuck in a bootloop, but luckily Android loads. However, I can't root my phone due to several errors, so I can't install Cyanogen mod. I think I'll give up now But thanks for all the help!

Thanks very much Here is what I did step by step:
I returned to the stock recovery by installing the stock firmware. I rooted the phone with stock recovery. Then I installed CWM recovery 5.2.0.8, but I still get the same error in CWM: it can't mount a few things. I still tried installing Cyanogen without wiping, and of course it's stuck at the boot screen with the Android text (I had a feeling that it wouldn't work if the recovery is not fully operational, so I did not want to lose every contact for nothing again). I read that this problem can be solved by formatting the SDCard, so I tried formatting it with PC and the phone also, but nothing. So now I'm back to the stock firmware and recovery with my phone rooted and no idea how to solve any of the problems.

This was just a trial run due to the new CWM recovery. If you read back, I already wrote that I tried wiping both data and cache before and after flashing Cyanogen mod. This "mounting" problem only came up with the new CWM recovery, 5.2.0.8.
The basic Google Apps were all there, since I used a rom from sammobile.com, downloaded programs like poweramp were the ones that did not work.

Hey everybody,
I just got back my motorola milestone from my provider because it has the ghost hand issue.
Now my problem is the I flashed the GOT back and I tried the original Shols as well with vulnerable recovery and I have the following issue.
I press power and X together, the triangle comes up and when I choose install update.zip the installing is coming and it says install successful but I got the recovery menu back and not the open recovery.
Any ideas? I will re-flash the phone again as soon as I got home but still it's a strange and weird issue. I tried to use ClockWork mod as well, same thing happened.
Thanks in forward!

Not working....I get the verification failed error message, like I didn't flashed the vulnerable sbf.
SO I reflashed with the RTEU Shols and then the vulnerable flash the one that's working with the 90.78 bootloader
I tried to flash GOT, same error message, it feels like the RSD Tool is just simply wiping the phone but do not flash the OS on my phone.
I thought maybe that's the problem so I tried a different RTEU and that didn't even boot up my phone, so it's doing something...I try to reflash GOT again..if it is not gonna help me then I don't know what to do...I never had this issue before...Never...I'm not a noob, I used a lot of a different ROMs and finally I see we got 2nd boot working my phone doesn't reach the open recovery...loooolllll
HELP ME haha
Update: Tried it, didn't work...
It maybe the problem of that I have Windows 7 64bit on my laptop and it has some issues with RSD Lite before i re-installed the Windows...Force Flash and some other stuff...How can I check that I have GOT on my phone or the original shols? Should be somewhere at "About Phone" section.
Don't flash the OR with RSDLite!
Flashing installs it to the phone's internal memory.
Just copy&paste the 'OpenRecovery' folder and the 'update.zip' to the root of your sd-card.

Hi
I have a p7320 which I am trying to install a custom ROM to, and I am having some trouble.
I used this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569122
1: flashed cwd through odin
2: flashed superuser through cwm
All fine until now
3: then I flashed the kernel from the same site through cwm
4: bootloop
I didnt take backup, so I couldnt nandroid back
I couldnt turn the device on, so I couldnt transfer another kernel
There were no "mount USB" in cwm so I couldnt transfer the files there either.
I was able to go into download mode, and I flashed the only stock rom I could find in .tar (flashable through odin)
from here: http://androidromupdate.com/2012/12/12/u-s-att-samsung-galaxy-tab-8-9-lte-sgh-i957-android-4-0-4-ice-cream-sandwich-update-finally-arrives/
flashing went fine and the tab booted.
Now I went back and flashed cwm again through odin, but when I was going to place superuser and the new rom on the sdcard.... there is no room on the tab.
In explorer it says : 0 byte available out of 26.9MB
This tab is 16GB.... what happened?
I cant transfer files to it, so the only thing I can flash is the .tar files through odin.
please help

Hmmm, this is usually a sdcard mount thing
so maybe all you have to do is reboot to CWM do a format /sdcard from mount and unmount section in CWM
then reboot to system and see if the problem still there

this probably means that your CWM version is old [5.5.0.4 I guess]
I don't know if your tab has a newer CWM cuz my tab is p7300,
so try to find a newer one or even try TWRP instead, cuz it also has sdcard format function
one little thing, you said your tab is P7320 and yet you have installed a SGH-I957 ROM {read it from your link}
I honestly don't know the deference between the two devices
what I'm trying to say is: maybe the problem is because you're using a ROM for a different device
so maybe you should try THIS [the latest ICS Odin tar samsung framework for P7320]
I have a p7320 and I am using this ROM.

Fast, no bloatware, no freezing.
I followed the instructions no problems. My recovery UI has an option partition SD card under advanced. Dont know if that will help you.

Hi
I was able to download another .tar full stock rom which I flashed with odin.
Worked out fine, and the memory of the SD card is back.
However... I once again flashed cwm and superuser, then i tried the rom you are linking to but the tab wont boot with it
Its just stuck with a black screen after the logo.
Now I have reflashed the stock rom with working sd card
Sorry about that. I remember I had a black screen for a few minutes but eventually it booted. The developer also pointed out boot animations are missing

Hi,
I'm the developer working on the CM10 ROM for the P7320 - yes, the first boot might take a while, and it doesn't show a boot animation, so it might look like it's crashed. But I have tested going from the stock ICS image to my ROM a few times and it seems to work fine, eventually. Perhaps you could give it another go and see?
Cheers.

Hi
I will definetely give it another go this evening
Can i flash superuser, your rom and gapps in one go? Or do I have to boot it in between?
thank you for your answer
The ROM should have super user already, so you shouldn't need that. You can do the ROM and gapps together.
I tried again, and this time it worked like a charm!
Thank you!

What am I doing wrong. My device starts to cyanogenmod boot animation but not further.
Do I have to do the dalvik wipe and cache wipe?
I think i have tried everything. It's been rolling boot animation about 30 minutes now.
Sorry about my bad language.
And thank you for your answers.
I dont have a solution. Is this the first time you use this ROM? One time I wanted to revert to stock to check something and I got an everlasting Samsung animation until I did a factory reset from recovery. Did you try factory reset?
