[Q] Cyanogenmod 10.1 or C-Rom Mix 4.2 - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Do i have to wait for cyanogenmod 10.1 stable or flash the available stable C-Rom Mix 4.2?
Please do give me your opinion in this choice?
Cyanogenmod is the famous and well known one but C-rom mix too good?
Additional infos-

Since I've had a lot of problems with CyanogenMod 10.1 I'm using C-ROM 4.2.1

Are you sure, is that working without any issues? But the ROM.zip file is exceeding abnormally, its says it 264mb kind of capacity, does that mean it inclusive of the gapps too?

Yes gapps included.
Device: GT-i9000
Rom: JB 4.2.1 C-RoM Mix v5
Kernel: Mackay 0.234

[Q][Semaphore Kernel JB 2.3.0][AOKP JB Build 3]

Hi,
My two i9000 are running fast and stable with aokp jb build 3 and semaphore jb 2.1.2.
I read that Semaphore 2.2.0 and newer works on ROMs with the new CM10 partition layout (CM10 20120926 or later).
I would like to install the very last semaphore 2.3.0 based on the latest linux 3.0.45 which is event faster but don't want to wipe/flash aokp roms every sunday.
So my questions are :
1) does aokp jb also handles the new CM10 partition layout ?
2) may I flash semaphore jb 2.3.0 with aokp jb build 3 (which is not CM10 as far as I know) ?
Thank you for your replies and sorry for my poor english.

Which is the best without bugs and issues c-rom bean or c-rom mix 4.2.1

I couldnt choose anyone. Which one do you use? Can you help me?......
I have run them both and for me, just my opinion I like Mix better.
They both seem stable and almost equal but for some reason Mix feels a little snappier to me, I am not sure if it is because it was based on slimbean where C-Rom Bean is based on cm10.1??
just my $.02
I suggest you try both and stay on the one you like better.
Both are working fast and smooth, and very stable too.
C-RoM Mix is based on SlimRom sources while C-RoM BeaN is based on CM10.1 sources.
I flashed C-RoM BeaN and personally I liked it very much that I decided to stay with it.
I was amazed by its speed and stability.
I haven't actually tried the latest C-RoM Mix but if you read it's thread, users are satisfied too with its performance.
Device: GT-i9000
Rom: JB 4.2.1 C-RoM BeaN v2
Kernel: Mackay 0.230
Governor: Interactive
I/O scheduler: ROW
Baseband: I9000BVJJPG
ı think bean's view is very soft and shortcuts are a little bigger. And the menu is most understandable. its my opinion..... but performance tests mix is a little inf ront of the bean bezacouse of the addons I think
im use in the moment the crom mix v2 and they is very good without lags or fc's
greetz
Ive tried both but really like mix v2 better than bean v2...
I use since yesterday C-Rom_Mix_v9.zip
Thread closed seeing as its essentially a best ROM thread

[Q] Which Rom is most like plain old android jellybean?

Hi - I want to have a rom most like the standard android jellybean seen on the Google Nexus 7 for example.
Which Rom should I go for?
many thanks
This one:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
on Galaxy Note?!
You'll want something AOSP based so for example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1796217
That is cyanogenmod 10.1 (Jelly Bean 4.2.2) - they are nightly builds as they are not entirely stable.
whats the most stable one? For example I have used PA which is great but would slim bean be more stable?
What I mean by stable is that they claim they are unstable - sometimes something isn't working with cyanogenmod but then it is working the next day with the new nightly, they can all be use as a daylt build though. As for slim bean - they usually have the odd bug in each of their builds, I haven't checked out their 4.2.2 build 1 or 2 however.
In short words - don't worry about the stability.

Click to collapse
For the last couple of weeks I've been using SlimBean 4.2.2 and Carbon 4.2.2.
Both are clean, pure and stable.

[Q] Which is the best useful and lagfree 4.1.2 rom?

i want to use a rom long time.Slim is good or cm10 or another ?
Probably Slim Bean
CM 10.0 stable in my case (andoid 4.1.2) was terrible. Much lag, unstable and terrible battery. However after changing kernel to Semaphore CM 10.0 was very stable, much smoother and better batterytime.
Now I am using CM 10.1.2 and it's original kernel is much better than the one of CM 10.0. However I am very curious how the performance will be with Semaphore.
But in between (after CM 10) I have flashed and used Slim Bean 4.2.1. It was like CM 10.0 on steroids and very stabble with better batterytime. I am very happy about CM10.1.2, but when Slim Bean comes with a stable 4.2.2 Android there is a 90 percent change I will go to that rom.
Choose slimbean 7.5, you will no regret!
