Hi!
I used ixperia rom with alfs v09 and nAa kernels
There is a wifi bug with both the kernel I have used.
Can anyone please suggest me what files are required for flashing alfs kernel, because there is lot of files associated with v09 version.

It should turn off.
When you turn on hotspots, your mobile operator acts as your adsl isp .so you can use internet in a laptop or another phone (or transfer files)

Hi. Is that possible? If yes how?
You mean wifi tether?

no no. I mean wifi 802.11n. Because with kernel nAa 07 and minicm 2.1.6 wifi device uses 802.11g.
No,l have n router and its work...if have that issue, find treath 99 tweaks, and folow instructions

your n router is b/g/n capable. so it works also with 802.11g cards. You can check with wifi widget that your connection speed is 54Mbps. If you install linuxdx kernel with gingerdx rom you'll have a 802.11n connection, so you can check the connection speed is about 150Mbps..
Bump

but the patchlog mentions that tethering should be working now
Working fine for me ICSSGS 4.2 with devil kernel 1.1

for me too with kernel stock
for me too tried wireless tethering also not working
With RC3 I've tested Wifi Tethering by using Open connexion.
I'm on Ubuntu 11.10. Can't connect my Latop using WPA or WPA2.
Now with RC4.2 and Devil's Kernel 1.1 it's work
Like the title says. Need rom like that. For now ad hoc only works fine (without stuck on obtaining ip adress on some cm9 rom + castagnal kernel v.6.6. If I use kernel that comes with rom than I stuck obtainin Ip adress but after flashing castatnal kernel v.6.6 it works. On gb rom i can.t evan see if there is som ad hoc wifi.
P.s. before I9001 my phone was x10 mini pro. And on custom gb rom i got working ad hoc wifi. Than means it is possible and for this phone.

yes i did but its not working with cm10 jb but it was working with cm 9 ics why is tht ?
same issue with CM10 Alpha 6 by Ivendor (for SGS+ I9001). Connections to ad hoc networks were working fine in CM9 (also the Ivendor builds), but they are not visible anymore in CM10. Also other sources report about this problem (I'm not allowed to post outside links, so try to google for "cm10 connect to ad hoc" ), so this seems to be a problem in the CyanogenMod upstream.
Time (and one of the heroic modders) will bring a fix, hopefully.

To repeat it again:
Does NOT work with STOCK KERNEL!
Only works on CUSTOM KERNELS (Alfs/nAa).
Search the Play Store, there's more than just one App around to make that feature happen without requiring a custom kernel.
Sadly saying there is no options in stock rom. U can go through usb tethering in stock rom. It's awesomly working
