Hi there!
Well this is a pretty simple thing: I have a SE Arc S and Im thinking on getting a LG 4x! Since you guys have been using it do you recommend it? Also I know that it comes or is upgradeable to ICS, but is it going to get JB?
Is the root process easy? Bootloader unlock? Etc.
I appreciate all feedback!
Thanks

im from galaxy ace , so the rooting method is quite hard at first but then its easy, just read the instruction then you ready to go , about the bootloader some of the people here getting message from lg that the bootloader will be unlocked on the next version jellybean, and hopefully it will come true

Great start! Shows loads of potential. Panoramic mode crashes on stock 422, and I've yet to get a Picsphere render past 96%. but it's still very very neat

After switching in Panorama mode the App crasches.
I like the app. It looks nice. I hope for some updates

Awesome lookimg app, would really want to use this all the time, but picsphere does not work on my phone 'eXistenZ v4 black'. I click the camera icon and my image vanishes, then i try to take another picture and it does nothing but tell me to 'long press shutter button to end'...and when i do "you need atleast two pictures"

Is this for 4.2 only? I can't get it to open...

That is just not possible. It's not stock. So you will have to flash a kernel, which you unfortunately can't on a locked bootloader.
Perhaps you can try backing up your TA partition and then unlock your bootloader. But it will never work on a locked bootloader.

I don't want to unlock my bl because I'm selling this phone in October. I want to buy Honami
Maybe worth working out what exactly this needs from cm frameworks (if anything) to enable it to work well on stock, (or as a standalone) rather than flashing an entire new rom just to get a camera

While looking at this website: http://www.android.com/kitkat/index.html I found this:
Could this mean Google is tackling their fragmentation? If so, would 4.4 come out on legacy devices? I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions about this. Off topic posts welcome too
Android 4.4 is coming, but we stuck in 2.3.6(2.3.7);((
The only way,to buy new device, but to discuss about 4.4 is good idea))

If Broadcom release the sources, then we can get android 4.4 but it will take a while. Just look at s530, they have android 4.3

First of all, if Samsung wanted to build something for us, they'd already have done. We have been through 2.3.7, 4.0.3, 4.0.4, 4.1.0, 4.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.2.1, 4.3 and Samsung didn't do anything for us. What makes you think that they would develop 4.4 for us, as long as it must require a lot of hardware specs. And even if samsung wanted to build something for us, they wouldn't do it because of Broadcom. But, if we receive Broadcom drivers, then it's a whole different story.

If Samsung need sources then how do we have stock ROM? It's common sense Samsung has the sources but they cannot release it because it's not theirs. Like Android-Fany said they need perms.

No, it's not worth the try. You might end up wanting to unlock your bootloader and ask stupid questions and such. So better don't even start at all.

Depends!!
if you are just using it for normal use like phone calls, whatsapp etc..you can avoid it.
Having said that rooting your phone will open up a new world of access to you.
You can unlock your bootloader, flash new rom. but will void your warranty.

I wish people would stop perpetuating this stupid myth that unlocking your bootloader invalidates your warranty. It doesn't necessarily do so at all.
If you over-clock the CPUs and blow the phone up then you are unlikely to get help from LG, but if your screen falls there is no reason for them to refuse the repair.
It's all down to what you do with it and how you unlock. If the official method works then you are far more likely to get help than if you use the other methods and blow different fuses.
It also depends how you bought the phone and where you live.
Now i have installed cyanogenmod 10.2
However im not new to rooting & stuff i had a lg optimus one and i killed it while falshing the stock rom with kdz

Out there are 2 ways only how to root your Z1, both are for Locked Bootlader. 1 best way is here step by step, page 2, Post #16 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588331&page=2 or NUT method here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2572988
