Return to stock - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone!
I want to sell my s3 mini and i need to return back to stock. I downloaded the correct rom from here http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I8190 (PHE -spain) and i`m gettin a booting problem.
After the loading samsung circle, the lockscreen appears and after 5 seconds that circle starts again ....and this forever

You can try flashing the attached file with ODIN (as PDA).
This will do a factory reset to your phone and hopefully make it boot normally.
The file is taken from the following thread so all credits go there!

it worked
Thanx very much

If It's rooted will this remove the root?

No just wipe data, sort of factory defaults resets.

I believe you need to flash an official rom again to remove root.
After that, do a factory defaults reset.

[Q] Root and OTA

Hello everyone.
I have rooted my Mini with pre-rooted firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2030282
Looks like it uses stock ROM but with root access and does not change counter.
Does it support OTA?
Thx in advance,
Yes it does have ota

Thank you. Thread can be closed, I think.
Strange. I got root using presented guide. Tried to check for updates and it says that I have modified my device and it cannot check for updates.
Do I need to make factory reset or FOTA updates are not compatible with root?
Happens to me if u remove or delete certain apps, Samsung scan your phone and says u have custom or modified ROM .

[Q] unable to flash to gingerbread

I installed jelly bean , but I want to go back to gingerbread
I downloaded the update package from samsung updates
however there is some problem, iam stuck at boot screen
I cant clear catch or reformat too
I did exactly how I done when installed jelly bean as indicated
I don't really understand what you meant by "inst as indt".
Try flashing it again using the guide. If that doesn't work reboot in recovery and do a full wipe or try to recover from a back up if you have one.

It was the I9070 JB which was upgraded by a stupid mobile repairer. I tried downgrading it to GB for I9070P and it was successful. But when it re-booted, it never went past the start up screen for 15 mins and then when I tried removing the battery and starting again, it never responded. Now I'll have to send it to Dubai to get it repaired, since it was purchased from there and India Service center doesn't cover International Warranty.

It wasn't succesfull if it didn't work... but I hope your device will be okay, and the costs aren't too high...
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda premium
why did you flashed it on a software meant for I9070P?.. that is for NFC model..
it should be the only I9070.. you had it "hard bricked"..
eventhough they are similar in form.. their software are different..
JTAG service is your last hope or service center..
just act as the phone died and you had nothing to do with it.. you try to get warranty..

[Q](SS) Why won't my phone fully boot?

Pretty sure I just bricked my phone for the first time.
Installed SS, rebooted the phone which brought me right to SS, did a backup, clicked the boot options and clicked Slot-1 and waited for it to finish doing what it does, installed KN0XRAID ROM on there, rebooted, now it sits at the Main Samsung Galaxy NOTE 3 splash with the padlock and won't ever load. The factory recovery does nothing for me and I already tried a reset. I can get into download mode as well.
Does anybody have any ideas as to what happened? Possibly due to my 64gb SD? Did I miss a step?
Thanks.
Press and hold the power and volume up, that should get you in recovery, then restore.... Hope this helps

What else do you flash with ???
Let's say that 4.3 update has knox bootloader and not everyone wants to void their warranty by updating theirs.
Hmm.. It is also possible to flash only kernel by MobileOdin, I am curious whether it will boot then...

In fact some guys reported on this. And I am not able to flash stock kernel from mine ported boeffla either.
However I don't need stock kernel for anything, therefore it isn't the most important issue

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. For future reference you can find your specific device forum here (bookmark/subscribe this):

I don't think so because i can access the settings and notification menu . The UI is just completely blacked out with the status bar on top . And when i get a message i can access it . And reply to it too same for phone calls. There is just no button to disable Ultra Power Saving because of the lack of UI.
I Disabled touch wiz and emegency , And im running launcher 8 , Thats most likely the reason of it not working
That is exactly the reason why, theres a thread in the general section for this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785363 and it says reflash, so thats what youre going to have to do, try and be more responsible with what you mess with next time.
