Note 2 and MHL

Hello everyone! Ordered a genuine Samsung MHL HDTV Smart Adapter for my Note 2 and have it all hooked up but am not getting HDMI input to my TV. Anyone have experience, ideas, thoughts?? Thanks in advance! Mike

Are you sure you bought the correct one?
Youll need the one for the galaxy s3 because it is 11pins i believe and there are mhl ones with 5 or 7 pins which is what most sell. So you might just need the 11pin adapter
so if you do buy it make sure its the galaxy s3 one as it is already 11 pin usb connector

You need a 5pin to 11 pin adapter to make what you have work, the adapter can be found for $3 shipped

The Samsung kit I got has the 5pin to 11pin adapter included but I have no signal on TV with or without the adapter . The Note does make a tone when I plug the adapter in. Do I have to enable something on the phone?? Thanks, Mike

Do you have your USB power connected to the MHL adapter while connected to the Note?

Yup. Everything connected and just tried a different USB cable and also the 2amp Note wall charger. Giving up for tonite. Would appreciate more hints or advice-did look at some of those other posts. Thanks!

I got nothing to add. I just plug my Note into the MHL adapter, select my source on my TV and boom, I see my phone screen on the big screen. There's nothing to set on the phone AFAIK.

The resolution when using MHL is just 1920x1080 30Hz only, the screen quality is very bad, I'm disappointed

My Amazon Basics 3 meter HDMI cable was no good. Different cable fixed my issue.

I use the Samsung MHL and Samsung 11 pin adapter and the picture quality is amazing. Even on my projector the resolution comes up as 1080 and it looks awesome.

Are you running a custom ROM?

I bought this cable for my note2. it works great and the image out on my tv is pretty awesome. for this to work you just need hdmi to hdmi cable and your charger and baam it works. this product at times needs to be moved around so it can show on the tv but other then that it works and its cheap.

I have 1. It works but it is a little laggy for watching videos.

Yea you might have the wrong adapter. I have the Orealo C1 MHL Slim Pico Projector that i use with mine. It the projector came with two cables and I tested them both separately one was the HDMI and other was MHL. They have to be used together for the Samsung to have a video output. Not that its a bad thing because it extends the cable length. LOL. But check that you have the right one.

I only have 2 hdmi ports in my vizio tv with 2 hdmi cables. I'm thinking of getting the above. Would a female to female hdmi adapter take away from the quality of the image?
Does anyone have a link to an mhl adapter with a female port which works for you?

Hey guys, any idea if this will work? Saw some otg with power from ebay. Read in nexus 7 forum that they were able to do it, was hoping it will also work with our device, but i think they used a custom kernel to be able to work, does stock samsung kernel supports this?
Im planning to makr my GCam a mini pc

i don't know if this will work... but i can tell you that my sgcam works perfectly with the logitech k260 keyboard and mouse and a full-hd-flatscreen via hdmi. unfortunately i was not able to make a usb-ethernet-adapter working via otg-cable. please tell me if you found a way to charge the sgcam with otg-cable connected...

Sad to say it didnt work for me, i think we need to compile the kernel to enable it and make our own cable by adding 40.2k ohm resistors on ID pin

Note II freezes when pluging in HDMI adapter

Hi there
Last week I bought this HDMI adapter for my Galaxy Note II: http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B003WJO2RI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I don't know if it's a problem with the cable or with my phone, but whenever I plug it in, my Note II freezes and reboots. I don't know if this due the custom ROM I'm running or simply a hardware failure.
Anyone has experienced a similar problem?

I have a smart dock and anytime I run any 4.2.2 custom rom my note freezes. never any issue on 4.1

AOSP 4.2.x ROMs don't have MHL capabilities which is why your device is locking up.

Mhl compatibility..

So I bought a new cable for hdmi which is supposed to work for s3/s3 mini.. It doesn't work on cm10 obviously (although I tried it), does anyone know if it will work on stock rom with allshare? Cheers.

I just noticed the micro usb port on my s3 mini has only 5 pins? Is this normal? As some reviews say that it's mhl compliant.. Do I need a 5 pin adapter?

MHL on HTC One Mini 2?

Hi guys.
Hope I have posted this on the correct topic/forum.
I have the HTC One Mini 2 and I have bought a MHL adapter to connect my phone to my plasma tv via hdmi. But when I do this the tv remains blank. Is there something I need to enable or? Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

my guess is mini 2 dont have mhl. Go curse gsmarena and believe what had been writen in htc website.

I wonder about this too .. My mhl adapter that I use for my galaxy tab 3 8 won't fit mini 2 port. Have u got ur charger plugged into mhl cable for power ?

Does the mhl adaptor push in all the way ? The my mhl adaptor only goes in halfway ... That's why it doesent work ...

Mini 2 does not have an MHL port.

According to the kernel log, it doesn't
You can try connecting it to a TV with an MHL cable. I tried, it doesn't work.

You can cat /proc/kmsg or run dmesg if you're rooted. But seriously, One Mini 2 doesn't support MHL.
You should probably send an email to HTC if you still have doubts.

Htc informed me yesterday that ther one mini 2 had HML capability

That's strange. I have asked HTC about MHL support and they confirmed the phone has it! But I am unable to connect via MHL adapter

Just found this online shop selling this mhl cable that says it's compatible with the one mini 2 only : http://www.gadgets4geeks.com.au/epa...s4geeks/Products/MHL-5/SubProducts/MHL-5-HOM2
I have a mhl for my one x that does NOT work on my girlfriends HTC one or my brothers Samsung galaxy so I think there are different standards of mhl, different pin outs.
