It will help u to access the samsung apps market and if u still in stock rom, when there's an update. It will let u update the OS from over the air (OTA). Or can get notification when samsung release their apps...
That's what i knew in theory. But in pratically, i'm not using it too often.
Maybe there someone here can explain more detail?

You access it only on the phone, its used for backups like call log, messages, remote phone, Samsung market, settings...
Thats all

Market "fix" for my SGT Wifi version

i recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab wifi version and I tried doing a search for Yahoo Messenger in the Market but it doesn't give any result, says that 'no application found'.
but on my mini pro, Yahoo messenger shows up so i end up downloading it in my mini pro and transfer it via BT on my SGT.
any idea why it's not showing in SGT's Market? is there a way for me to be able to fix it?
I'm running Overcome 1.4.2 with Globe as my carrier and it shows up fine in the Market. Didn't see it on stock though.
i've heard of Overcome but i'm not sure if i can use that on my SGT since mine is the Wifi version.
here's what's going on with the Market that I have on my SGT Wifi version.
At first i thought that Yahoo Messenger is the only app that I can't find but unfortunately, I can't locate GO Launcher as well. It shows the Go Launcher themes but not the app itself.
So I'm assuming that there might also be other known apps that might not show. Is there a way to fix or patch the Market so that it would show the apps?
i've tried MarketEnabler, MoreLocale2 but it's a no go .. i've seen someone post a copy of Market here. if i overwrite the existing Market app, won't that cause a problem or will that fix the problem?
anyone?

found a temporary solution .. i've installed Amazon's AppStore, AppBrain and Applanet.
Appbrain relies on Market so that's really a no-go. Applanet works since it shows the files that I need, like, Yahoo Messenger for instance. It even shows the plug-in.
Get Super One Click v1.8beta under @ Android Apps and Games. It can root and/or market fix. Read my post towards the end for instructions on how to make it work.

[SOLVED] How to backup Notes (Stock i9000b 2.3.6, Notes app)?

Hi all. I upgraded to an HTC One and I need to get my Notes (over 200) to my new phone.
I have the regular "Notes" app that came with a stock 2.3.6 rom I upgraded it too, but I remember the old iterations also having that exact same "Notes" app. I was exporting them one by one to my PC. But figured there should be a better way. I know most backup programs simply don't backup notes.
I also know there's a way to do it via ES-File Explorer with root access, which my phone has. But I don't know what's next. I tried to search the forums and could find much of help.
Thank you very much in advance.

I'm not kidding and these are the proper forums. Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting. The phone I need to save my notes from is a Samsung Galaxy S i9000b. What other forums should I be looking in, androidforums?
Unhelpful and plain jerky people like you are the only problem about being a newbie anywhere. It drives potentially valuable users away from nice and healthy online communities. Seen it quite a bit elsewhere.
Can some moderator or kind user have the amiability to at least point me in the direction where I could fool myself with a vague hope of getting any help, please?
I wouldn't be asking if I could on my own.

Thank you very much for your reply. I've been using Titanium Backup for quite a while as well, but mostly for uninstalling unneeded apps. I don't think the new Notes app is compatible with the old one, so I don't know of how much use would force-copying program's memory file (looks like a single one, unless I don't even know where to look) with Titanium Bk be.
I was thinking of maybe an app that converts those notes to some other or more usable format. Even better if it upgrades them to some other Notes program file. Uploading those notes online wherever could also work. Or perhaps a way to manage those from Kies. If I knew it would had come to this, I would had used any note app from the very beginning...

actually i been using 'those' notes(if ur talking about firmware notes app) app before (1 years ago) n know how hard it is to juz backup all ur notes
so i change my notes app (download any from gstores) that suitable for any version of android n one can backup all in on click
n start copying again 1 by 1 (really takes my time) so... i m sorry but i dont have any method other that as i dont even know why is it that hard juz to copy a mere notes i listed (d**n samsung app)

Try copying your notes to Colornote, sync the notes through, copy them back.

The copying the notes part is the one I'm trying to avoid. I did downloaded Colornote and it does looks really sweet.
But I checked and I have 211 notes to copy and would hate to have to do it one by one. So far, the best I've got is a smm file from Kies with all my notes in it. However, I haven't been able to find a single way to open this file in Windows, change its extension or how to export it to any app in Android.

Okay, I digged around settings and stuff for a bit, and under Settings -> Wireles and Network -> Synchronise there is an option to create a profile to sync memos (assumingly the stock memo app obviously). Haven't found this feature until now, so you could try play around with it?

Hey, that actually did helped! Didn't found that option you are telling me about, but found a way to Sync the Notes in the phone with those in Outlook via Samsung Kies (using latest Kies version, 2.5.3.13043_14).
Once that is done, it's pretty much problem solved.
What would come next is to put them online (can be done with Google or several other apps; I used Evernote, as my HTC came with it) and download them to the new phone. Anyone else needing additional details now, in a couple months, or a few years from now, please feel free to send me a PM.

No Native Email App? Huh?

My Note 3 has a very nice native email app but I can't seem to find it on the Tab 8.4. Tried using the one from the Note 3 but it crashes. The only email client that is built in seems to be Gmail.
What gives? First Samsung leaves out Screen Mode and now this. Why are they targeting the 8.4 to leave things out?
Anyone know where I can get a version of the Note 3 email .apk that I can use on the 8.4? Thanks.

You might want to check again. There is an email app from Samsung included on the 8.4.

Yes you are correct. My bad on that.
Apparently when I flashed freeza's rom I did a full wipe first and deleted it. So I went back to my Nandroid of the stock setup and copied the SecEmail_Tablet.apk to my external SD card. I flashed freeza's rom without doing a full wipe but the Email app once again disappeared. I then placed the saved .apk in my system/app folder and rebooted. STILL no email app.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.
After you copy the file over you have to change the permissions to 0644.

[Q] Moto Connect Chrome Extension

Anybody have any luck getting the Motorola Connect Chrome Extension to work?
Love my Nexus 6 but I really miss being able to send text messages from Chrome while I am at work.
Pushbullet is what I use.
I use hangouts and google voice on the PC at work.

yup. Works so awesome, and even better since they added a lot of 3rd party messengers
Thanks for the recommendations. Tried Pushbullet at home and it was exactly what I was looking for.
Work wont let me sign into the chrome extension, damn.
Thanks for the help folks.

I had an issue with this too. Was able to install at the house and when I signed into Google Chrome from work it automagically downloaded and installed the extension and signed me in. Its been working every since. Work has everything white listed, meaning I cannot install anything. But I managed to get it to work...
AirDroid is another excellent alternative.

^^^^ well lookie there. I may just need to go into each piece of software and see if it can be removed. I ass-umed it couldn't as with this phone Facebook can't be uninstalled but only disabled.
Thanks!
If the Facebook app that came with the Note 8 can be uninstalled also please let me know how, it only give me the option to disable at the moment

You can only disable it. Or you can simply refuse to give it your login credentials, in which case, it can't really do anything.
Some apps are installed in the "system" partition and cannot be uninstalled. Some apps are installed by the Sprint store app and Samsung store app automatically, and those can be uninstalled
