Hello, can any of you tell me the best keyboard for the OB? I am currently using GO keyboard and it is not the best. Thanks in advance!

I like Perfect Keyboard because it allows to have a compact keyboard for portrait... a qwerty layout for portrait is IMHO too hard to use without mistakes.
In the other part Perfect Keyboard is rather bad for terminal and bash purpouses because is difficult to write symbols like _ or =
Regards!
the best: swiftkey
Well, I have used both and didn't like them... Any other solutions? The best so far is the GO keyboard that I have used so far, very smooth.

I use Smart Keyboard.
htc ime & swype are perfect for me.
I've been using gingerbread keyboard and it's been working out fine for me

I used SliedIT, but only found a demo and it expired. Didn't want to pay for it.
I am looking for a specific feature in a swipe style keyboard, I need it to automatically recognize two languages. I sometimes write messages in my native language, and sometimes in English. Is this possible? SlideIT had a setting like "secondary dictionary" but it didn't work, or I don't know how to switch between (other then manually from the settings page).
I'm using HTC ime for passwords etc. and swype beta for allday writing
Once discovered that HTC IME has compact keyboard to and is easy to chage between them with left-right swipe... stuck on HTC IME!!!
Regards.

why do you change keyboard for passwords? You can write normally on Swype

because in some apps swype is trying to add passwords to the dictionary or replaces the passwords with words from dictionary ^^
The ones you have mentioned have not proven to be a wise choice for me because 1) they are too compact, 2)weak design and 3)do not recognize well other languages such as Portuguese or Spanish, which I normally use alongside with English. The downside of GO keyboard is that sometimes it is slow/annoying to type sometimes. Any other alternatives you might share?

I'm using GO Keyboard. In newest version it has swype, a lot of supported languages, themes and other stuff. I suggest you to try GO.
Acutally, I'm pretty satisfied with the LG stock keyboard. It even automatically changes to the local language when I'm abroad. I've additionally installed Smart keyboard but frankly haven't used it a lot.

Try the "Big Buttons Keyboard". I'm using it for weeks now, and I like it!
My phone got the update last friday and now my swype is the spanish version. wtf? I can still use it but the SYM button is SÍM and everything from directions and add to dictionary is in spanish.

Mine did the samme thing? I just changed it back to english
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App
Mine also did the same thing, you just have to change it back to English and everything is fine again. Must have been a bug in the update.
Clear the apps data in application settings. Fixed it for me.
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App
Thanks, wiped the data and everything is back to normal.

Clearing app data also fixed my swype spanish bug. Thanks xda

You don't have to clear data or jump through any hoops.
Just go to the phone's main menu/settings/Language & Keyboard Settings/Swype(Swype Settings) and change the language from Espanol to US English.
For some reason the update defaults it to Espanol and all you need to do is switch it back to US English.
I actually tried changing the language in swype but even when I choose english it would stay in spanish. Clearing app data is what finally did the trick
Until I wiped the data, menus were still in spanish. I changed from Spanish to English, but the SYM button was SÌM button. And adding to my dictionary was in spanish. Clearing the data was the fix.

Just install like a regular apk.

Tells me that dictionary is not installed and then offers to download them from play store.... there are so many of them for about $4.5 each.

I'll try to extract apk for free dictionary from L9. Saw it already and it enables you to download one dictionary of your liking.
But in the meantime You can just select Cancel while it's asking for one and still use it (it'll connect with google translate).
Sorry I haven't written that piece of information.
thank you
Working on CM10, tested
After re-install V20A its working fine.
Ask for the dictionary in the begining but, maybe because had as default Korean...
I tried Polski, Português, English, and no problem!
Its great!

Do we have to pay for dictionaries? It shows me only the one from Google Play that we have to pay?
Guys, this is thing is nearly useless, if you have to get into so much trouble just to get it on your phone. Why don't you, go and grab form the Play Store the free Google Translate app that now, also offers the download of dictionaries for offline use???

For me was like install any other app... But you're not completely wrong. The only "if" is that QTranslator is kinda exclusive and Google Translate don't exactly fit the captured text. We need select the area more far away cause after it gets bigger. If we select the text just inside of the screen limits, after gets kind of zoomed and gets out of screen... But like you said, they're almost the same.

I didn't realize that it "bleeped" words like that. I'm going to have to give it a try because I find spelling like "f***" more amusing than the actual spelling.
If you use the Samsung keyboard with S-Voice you cannot unblock offensive words I had to change to the Google keyboard and use Google Input to be able to use offensive words.
