Hi
I have HTC Legend
My Legend had Market, but when I replaced the ROM to Arabic ROM I didn't find the Market .
I Tried to instal it and the Market installed Successfully and whene I search I fine what i want, but whene I click "instal" it showing (FC)
is there any way to install it ??
Try a factory reset. The Modaco custom rom lost the market on reboot for me, factory reset fixed it. Might not work, but it's worth a try, right?
it's not working
The official ROM (Arabic ROM) didn't have Market.
you can install an alternative market like SLIDEME
download it here: http://slideme.org/sam2.apk
go in adb:
adb install /PATHTO/sam2.apk
Thanx
but you Know it's not enough
I mean I didn't find many Apps.
thanx any way
You could try to taking the rom open it with dsixda Android Kitchen add Vending.apk and see what happens!
Try the attached file.

the thing is i really don't wanna root the device... i wanna keep it stock.
any way i pulled the market app off my g1 phone, so can it be adb pushed and installed on a non rooted device or can i use htc sync suite to do it ?
ok i think i'm half way there,
i found htc sync for windows on the htc legend sd card "the one that came in the box"
i installed it and it went smoothly. after installation completed i have the option to install apps thru the htc sync...
as i said earlier i extracted the market app from my g1 running cm6.
so i went ahead and give it a shot trying to install this app but there was an error on the phone saying "error parsing the package". so any ideas

you must check the (Unknown sources) box, you can find it in Settings/Applications/Unknown sources on your phone.
Ahh it was my bad, I tried the market updater apk rather than vending apk... anyway I got the vending apk and it didn't work at first coz of diffrent version. So I asked another member here if he can supply it and thank him very much he did then I used htc sync software to install it & yay here it is on my legend but it keeps crashing when trying to download...'ll invistigate and see

it will not work like that, you must first root your Legend and just flash the (market_signed.zip) without changing your room.
only then it will work, i tried it and got it working on my Legend.

I think you should read a thread about how to root your legend by modaco. try to search in this forum first
then, you can try one of custom ROM which you prefer (for example: azure) and don't forget to flash google apps which can be select if you download this ROM using ROM Manager, or you can download it separately.
after that, you should have market as one of you apps in your phone
cmiiw
Will this work? I think you need more than just Vending.apk because Market needs to connect to Google to verify the user. Only then you can access and download apps from market.
And of course you need the Google framework to be present as well.. and gmail since the phone needs a Google account to access market..

Right. Because Vending.apk can work on itself. Its connected to a number of apk to make it work like it should. So unless you know every single required apk to make Market works, I suggest you flash Gapps which contains the whole Google apps and just delete the ones that you don't use. Or maybe just leave it there, your choice.
I too want only the Market but I can't find what's what and I've been searching for months!
Hey guys,
I've got a problem on my Nexus one running Cyanogen 6.1 RC1. Basically I wanted to try out the FM radio so I plugged in my headphones and no sound comes out at all. I went on the setting and changed it to UK, I've used loads of different headphones, bluetooth is definitely on etc and I have no idea why it won't work. I watched loads of videos of people just turning their FM radio on and it just works straight away.
Any help?
Thanks
You did turn the radio on, right?

Yeah pressing the power button right? Because it says 'turning bluetooth on' when I do and then nothing. I press the loudspeaker on/off so many times to no avail.
Strange, works fine for me.
I have noticed some apps behaving weird with some of the nightlies, and usually a clean wipe and clean install fixes...
You probably don't want to hear it, but that's about all I have to offer...

titanium backup pro. it costs very little, and restores with a press or two.
i've used the fm radio app on my n1 several times, on several roms, and it's fairly consistant / fast / usable. currently i'm using 6.1 RC1
Use TuneIn radio from the Market. Its the best radio app now in my opinion.

I've actually got it but I don't know I guess it's kinda like when you format a PC haha.
So how would I go about sorting this? Wipe data and reinstall ROM?
Is anyone else having problems selecting the normal radio stations? All of my radio stations display with an even number in the decimals place even if I manually enter in a radio station with an odd number in the decimals place, e.g. 103.2 instead of 103.3. I'm wondering if this has to do with the 5_12 kernel that I'm using. Thoughts?

Use Titanium batch option to back up all your apps and data. Install new ROM (first back up current ROM, just in case). Flash latest gapps. Install Titanium, and batch restore apps and data. Reboot.
I use App Monster to make a backup apk of Titanium on my SD. That way, when the new ROM is installed, I can skip the setup process (touch 4 corners at touch android screen, clockwise, starting at top left), open a file manager, install the backup Titanium apk, then restore everything. If you don't do this, you have to add all your details to log into the market to dl Titanium again, and then all your apps start to auto install without data... :-/

use dsp manager to see if it's a setting. if not, flash cyanogenmod 6.1 RC1, after using ti backup. the pro version will let you re-install all your applications AND settings easily enough.
nandroid is something you should do before anything else, and if you have, try reverting to an earlier known good setup.
personally, titanium backup + flashing fixes everything.

I did this but it won't let me uninstall the FM radio so it didn't do much...
You can uninstall the FM radio via Titanium or Root Explorer. Reboot, and then reinstall.
I prefer to simply add .bak to the existing apk file in the system/app folder, using Root Explorer. That way, if the new install doesn't work, you can always rename the old file back to its original name...

I did it and it simply didn't work. I installed the latest Nightly and it worked however Titanium backup was restoring really old apps and kept on restarting when I was restoring some apps so I recovered using nandroid, deleted all older backups, made a fresh copy, made a new nandroid copy and now retrying - fingers crossed!
Obviously possible but I am trying to root my buddies CAptivate and NOTHING is working. What am I missing. TRied z4, cant use because AT&T blocks 3rd arty installs, tried superone click and does nothing, tried the other one click and it sits on the little blue screen saying my phone should be rebooting but my phone just sits there ? Tried the "update.zip" method and tells me "bad E-siganture"
can someone please HELP!!!
Pc has current drivers installed and has degugging checked
1: search for esignature problems, there is a way around this. (simple)
2: use sideload wonder machine from android central to load z4root.
3:use z4root

Thank you. I finally got this to work as far as I have the Super User app installed on the phone. I thought if I had this then the phone is def rooted yet when I try to delete ATT bloat ware it still won't let me.
Is this only because its still running the factory 2.2 froyo. Will the full SU benefits be there one I flash whatever ROM he wants on Monday ?
And what is the best rom for the cap ? I have the Eris running a GB rom that I love but I'm sure this phone is different
go to the market, download titanium backup. use that to uninstall, unwanted bloat...you cannot use the native package installer/uninstaller to remove system apps.

stick with froyo based roms. especially if you have to ask

Thanks all. I don't think it's going to matter since when I reboot into recovery I do not have the option to "flash zip from sd card". I got it rooted, installed rom manager and flashed clockwork but to no avail. This all seemed to go so smoothly when I did our eris phones.
I have his "wireless tether" working and was able to delete a ton of ATT bloatware but I think he's going to stuck with the stock ATT 2.2 ota rom.

As you have already been told in this thread you need to make sure you have modified your 3e recovery to allow cwm to work.

Check out TRusello's signature "3e recovery fix" also after you boot into recovery from rom manager you have to "reinstall packages" twice, then you will see all the options...

you need to reinstall packages in recovery twice.
also you need the to fix 3e recovery before you can flash the cwm .zip.
look @ the stickies in the general section. there is a thread on working around 3e recovery. it contains a link to a batch script that'll fix it
there is also odin(tethered) that can replace the kernel with one that has cwm baked in
and sgs kernel flasher in the market that can do the same from the phone as long as it's rooted.

Lmfao. that's awesome.
The dirty version is hilarious.
I figured we needed a thread to discuss the BootManager app.
First, big thumbs up to GFlam & Conap for this app! I used Conap's CELEB CM Roms on the Eris for a long time.
Now:
They have a User Manual on their site.
What does it do? You keep your rom on the phone, and you can add up to 4 more on your SD card. You use the app's menu to select which one you want to boot into next.
What is it? it is an apk you can get from the market. It lives on your phone. It doesn't mess with Clockwork and such.
What's the catch? There is something you have to pay attention to...It requires a connection to the market to verify it's authenticity. So, whenever you add a new rom, you need to connect it to the market...the trick: you need to flash gapps right after you flash a rom before you boot into it.
What If I forgot to flash gapps?!? No big deal. If you boot into a rom you installed that doesn't have the market, the BootManager app won't work, so you can't use it to boot back into another rom. They have a solution - boot into recovery and flash the "update.zip" located in the bootmanager>phonerom folder on your sd. Then your phone will reboot into your internal phone rom.
What's the catch, part 2? Some roms have custom scripts that run when they boot, so they don't play well, especially when installed on the SD card.
What else do I need to know? Rom installs take longer. After installing, the roms on the sd card do not lag. You can back up the roms that you install through the app.
This is a dream for people who want to play with nightlies or try a bunch of roms, but need their old-reliable come Monday morning. Check it out!

I haven't tried the MIUI yet. It might be another with a custom boot script.
You could try to install it as the internal phoneROM and see if it works. If it doesn't you'll need to restore a nand backup.

disappointed that the synergy nightlies flashed to a slot put me in a boot loop. but was excited that all i had to do to fix it was flash the update.zip under bootmanager/phone
Maybe I'm missing something but where can I find the gapps zip/ every time I try to boot from the app, its telling me either no Rom installed or no image found
I installed all 3 versions of the recently leaked GB ROM using bootmanager and interesting NONE of them will boot up. Best I can tell from adb logcat is that the ROM does a memory test and the wrong memory type is returned causing a boot loop at that point.
Smells like a bit of copy protection testing going on.

Hey there, just wondering of anyone else is having the problem of Sd card space going into limbo if the ROM install doesn't go well (i'm talking the install or back up glitches and doesn't finish, not it actually finishing and getting a boot loop. I've tried wiping cache/dalvik cache, all the cleaning functions within the app. Deleting the slots and wiping the slots didn't work either. Like I said it seems to be in limbo, and don't feel like moving all my data off my card and reformatting every time this occurs. Any ideas?
Hey guys,
I love this app. I also had some problems but now I have Gingeritis as my phoneRom and switch between SHIFTS3NS3 and BAMF which are all gb roms.
The trick I found was that if it doesn't load the first time keep trying, it took me about two tries to load SHIFTS3NS3 and about 3 for bamf. Make sure you use ext2.
Also make sure your phone stays awake.
If you have an issue email the Devs they responded to me with in 10 min of the email.
Great app

Yes it can be removed. You gotta have root though. After u rooted your phone, just download SystemApp Remover from playstore and install it. It's a paid app btw.
Try using link2sd.. it more simple..
but you must root n partition sd card before..
