You can check InterRaven's or Tiamat's kernel if they support CM7.1. If they do, you can flash it to replace CM's kernel.
However, I personally think the best solution is to wait for stable version of CM 7.1.

I've got very good results using an Intersect Reaven Kernel with CM 7.0. You could give it a go, and if it is not what you are expecting, just go back... so make a NandDroid backup in case you need it.
Good Luck!!
Moved to proper forum.
You need to know one thing first, GRJ22 is not the version of the kernel. It is actually the build number of the Android System.
I personally would recommend IR kernel, and set it to run using Smartass. Saves battery, while not comprising your user experience.

Make a clean install and read N00BY0815's The big NOOB how-to post #2, if you're able to make a logcat and report it in cyanogenmod page you may be able to help solving the issue.
The other option is flashing last boype's kernel from here over your CM7, it doesn't have SoDs or Freezes

Its not the samething then this mod on this page? http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=nightly&device=p970
Ill try a fresh install with this one
Try to install Huexxx kernel 4.0 with mod. I didn't had a single SOD in maybe 2 months
What kernel is the best? Huexx or boype kernel?
And can i flash a kernel on an other kernel?

I haven't try Huexxx, but boype's is fine, and you can flash just the kernel, yes
Oups, for flash kernel, i mean, can i flash huexx kernel on the boype kernel? Or i need to wipe data?
I used Huexxx and I never had an SOD (in 2 months).
You can flash on boype kernel, just wipe cache and dalvik cache
Thx for the info about flash
But i want an opinion of someone who used the 2 kernel
thx
Don't worry
Well, this happen to me too, I use CM7 since IDK, 2-3 monts and is my favorite ROM :good:
You don't have to remove the battery everytime you get freeze just press the power button for 10 seconds, aprox.
I don't know why this happen, I hope they can fix this bug soon, In some nigthlys I never had this bug.
Sorry for bad english
Zorth, i can press the button 1min and nothing happen. I really need to pull out the battery
Now im trying huexx kernel 4.1, boype kernel dont fix SOD problem
I find huexx kernel 4.1 very slow

Hello xda
I know there quite a few posts out there with people detailing their phones rebooting randomly but my phone just hit a new level of weird.
My i9000 reboots randomly into cwm recovery menu for no good reason (I know there is another thread about this but that instance is on the Nexus S and the thread has basically died). This started occurring shortly after I flashed slim ROM 4.2.2 build 5 (came from CM10.1 nightlies). Flashing the rom again and updating it to build 6 has done nothing to alleviate the issue.
I'm using the Semaphore kernel with no OC or changed settings, and having recently bought a new battery, I'm really not sure where to start looking for the problem.
If anyone can give me some tips it'd be greatly appreciate, thanks in advance.

hi
randomly i will got this problem if i m flashing backward. like from 4.2.2 - 4.2.1, or 4.1.x to 4.0.x. or repeatedly changing between kernel (i always do this to modified ROM to suits my settings n need) its probably due to changing partition in system or kernel clash (even i did all wipe) in internalsd.
Sorry to say. it will come worst sometimes if u ignore da problem or keep flashing ROM to avoid it. 'Luckily' about 2 hour ago my sgs just did. Constantly booting to recovery n its juz bootloop between kernel splashscreen n sgs white splashscreen after it.3 combo button will not working for recovery n only download mode accessible.
no more method for me . Juz flashing back to stock firmware JVU +CF-ROOT with odin was da answers
but if u dont familiar with odin.seek guide here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2149455
but use it as ur last method!
clashing between titan.....no! kernel maybe da reason.do some wiping before changing kernel or ROM. n format system if necessary before flashing!

Reboots into CMW with Slim Bean 4.3 and Semaphore
Hi guys, any news on the subject? Exactly the same thing happening to me. I did a clean installation of Slim 4.3, after using CM10 and everything seems to be working perfectly except it reboots into CWM every 1-2h!!! I haven't changed any configuration and didn't mess with the kernel that came with the ROM, which is Semaphore... Is it a kernel issue? Should I try to flash the latest version?

I run into the same problem with my current update of my I9000 to CM 10.2.1 and the Semaphore Kernel 3.3.0 (JB).
Any ideas on this issue from the pros?
I realized that it was happening to me only when I was loosing the network coverage, like being in the underground or roaming or things like that... I don't know if it happens to everyone but in my case it's definitely this. If there is no network available my phone will boot into recovery after a while. If the signal is OK, it doesn't happen. Maybe it has something to do with the modem?!

Charging Issues
Hi everybody. I'm facing a strange issue. I'm on CM11 snapshot m11, archikernel 1.52 aosp and whenever i switch my phone off to charge its battery, the phone automatically turns on and boots up.
Once I was with cm11 original kernel I didn't have this issue.
As soon as I flashed archikernel 1.5.2 i started having the problem.
Anyone could please help me undertand what happens?

This is because AK uses Samsung KItKat sources, while CM uses outdated JellyBean sources.
If you want to charge your device in offline mode, I suggest using airplane mode or convince CM maintainers for i9300 (plot twist: there are none) to fix LPM.
Which is best governor for battery? Yank Battery or ZoneZam Battery?

Where can i download latest bootloader? What version are you currently using, and will it be okay with most if latest kit kat custom rom such as cm or pa?
Edit : i used a root checker app and it says i have i9300XXUGNA5 bootloader with i9300DXUGNB1 baseband. How do i know i have the latest bootloader?
Edit 2 : ok check through sammobile, that bootloader and baseband is the latest for my country (malaysia) for android 4.3. It listed xugna5 as PDA. Could i assume pda = bootloader?
I hope that this bootloader has the fix for exynos issue, superbrick, and sudden death problem which ppl say has been patch with latest bootloader.
End of out topic. I hope this post could serve other newbie like me searching info about bootloader.
Damage in screen?
Hi, could you help me? I have a S3 I9300 White is Stock Rom 4.3 update OTA, but it happens that the cell is working properly, normal function, but when the screen lock and unlock the phone, the screen does not turn on, just turn on the LEDs of menu and back, the solution is to restart the phone again normal work and not just let it hang sometimes when locked, the LED turns on of the flash, my question is, will need to change the screen? that is not broken and the touch works perfectly, only when the phone is locked, the screen does not turn on. Oh and the brightness does not work, it stays on maximum brightness.
can I use this kernel with SlimKat or NeatRom? Or any 4.4.4 rom?

It has nothing to do with the kernel.
@JustArchi
Firstly, thanks for the kernel.. Gives the best battery life as compared to others..
I'm noticing camera not connecting issues though since 1.5.2..
To verify.. I switched back to stock kernel and everything worked fine.. Switched to Archikernel and camera again couldn't connect or work..
Tried on Omni.. Cyanogen.. Temasek.. Carbon just to be sure..
Any solutions?
Im just wondering if i can flash this on my gti9300 using imperium kitkat rom v3.0 with boeffla kernel 6.1beta6 im facing problems with my newly bought battery from sammy store it drains fast when im browsing the net using wifi ( like 1 % in just 3minutes) but when it is on standby mode, it only drained 4 percent of the battery for 12 hours what seems to be the problem? Is this kernel will be the answer for my battery issue and how can i fix the offline charging?
And i set the boeffla config to zzmove/batery yank presets but still drains fast when browsing the net ? thanks in advance more power sir archi
Sorry for my bad english

If you flash proper variant on stock kernel, as pointed in the instruction, it should work properly.
However, kernel doesn't affect battery that much. Sure, settings do, but kernel itself is only doing what it was told by the ROM and binaries. I won't tell which kernel is better, because there's no "better" kernel when comparing Boeffla to AK. They're both great, but have some different objectives.

Make sure that KSM is disabled, if you enabled it in performance options.
Camera bugs are mostly caused by the ROM, kernel has little to none outcome on that. You can always try other kernels, especially from Sammy sources, such as Boeffla NG.
Thanks for the info sir archi. Im going to read your thread again for instructions. More power ? keep up the good work
