Bunker Ring 3 - Galaxy Note II Accessories

I just received my Bunker Ring from 'The Hi Shop' last week and I'm loving it so far. As someone with very small hands and a massive phone, I find myself dropping and having a very hard time of gripping the phone. This solves that problem. Although the ring is too big for my finger, it still works very well in providing excellent grip. I also looked into the FlyGrip but the price-point really pushed me away. $30 plus ~$14 shipping plus very likely brokerage fees with FedEx put me off. That being said, here are some of the features of the ring:
- 360 degree rotation in the ring (allows for a large variety of viewing positions for landscape and portrait)
- Kick stand (both landscape and portrait) in which viewing angles can be adjusted
- Reusable/easily removable adhesive (it's micro suction, you can wash it with water and it'll be as good as new; doesn't leave residue)
- Price (at only $20 plus $3 shipping, it's much cheaper than the FlyGrip)
Here's the link to where i bought it:
http://www.thehishop.com/ths-bunker...-permanent-adhesive-360-degree-rotatable.html
Hope this review was helpful!

Dimensions of the rectangular piece? Also what is the thickness of the entire assembly when snapped down?

I also have the bunker ring but I only paid 6.37 for it. it's here on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/251147580077?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 It ships from China, but I received it in 11 days. Here it is on Amazon for $5.98 with shipping, http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Bunker-Holder-Iphone-Galaxy/dp/B009T11WYO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359302268&sr=8-1&keywords=bunker+ring

You can definitely see the difference in quality between original and ebay one, just by looking at it. But I'm sure ebay one will work the same way. Oh, I just wish they would come up with some universal clamp so you don't have to stick it to the case and use it with any case.

I had the OEM bunker ring. Very nice. I liked it a lot on my Note 1. However, after using it for about 6-12 months, it started flipping in the opposite direction. Over time, it got very loose and would no longer function as a portrait stand.
Recently I purchased the cheaper ebay version. It's very hard to twist to make it 90 degrees so you can put your finger in it. I have to use two hands whereas with the original, I could do it with one hand. At the same time, the good thing about the ebay version is that because it's stiff, it'll also less likely move in the wrong direction (picture the ring flat but in the wrong direction). Also, the hinge on the ebay version is completely plastic. This means it'll likely give and wear down over time...but then again, it only cost me 6 bucks vs 20.
In the end, I'd prefer the OEM version, if only they could improve the hinge. But in it's current state, I had to remove it. I'm using the ebay one now.

DELL polyethylene case not great

Got delivery of the above case today which comes with a decent easy fit screen protector
the case basically covers the back and the top but sadly not the home, menu and back button area or the
Earphone area.
the top buttons are harder to reach as well.
Not worth. Buying esp for 25 quid
thanks for this info

Send it back for a full refund under the Sales of Goods Act. The case is falsely advertised and is not as described. "This robust form-fitting case provides a total protection for you Dell Streak from scratches" (sic) is the blatant, ill-grammared lie on the web site, when it leaves the scratch-prone front panels totally unprotected.
You might put up with that for a fiver, but for 25 quid? Stuff it up 'em, I say.

To be honest I can't be arsed but the case is very tight fitting and follows the shape of the streak, like I said before the screen needs a protector which is included but the 2 panels either side of the screen are not protected at all.
All of the ports and buttons are accessible

This case is laughable .. I am packing it back up and returning it. The back of the streak needs LESS protection than the piano finish and screen. You get this case which seems to be made of a thicker version of the plastic it is packaged it. It fits over the back of the case and that is all .. They include one sheet of screen protection .. I forget what I paid for it but it is worth about a dollar .. NO MORE.
I ordered both cases. I am keeping the wallet .. maybe .. That is cardboard covered in some sort of material with a coated rubber band to hold it closed. UGH .. I would love to have an ottercase for this.
i tried reviewing this case fairly and honestly on Dell's website and they refused to put the review on even though the only other review said roughly the same thing
i.e. that it is crap
I just picked up the FormFit Case myself and I can honestly say I was surprised at how it barely added any size to the overall dimension of the Streak. I like it. The openings for the buttons keeps them from being accidentally pressed during daily use.

What about the fact that the 2 panels either side of the screen have NO protection at all not exactly total protection is it?
You cant really cover that panel because first of all the bottm panel is also touch sensitive, the top part has the camera and sensor. I dont see any difference with it and most other cases for any other phones. If the 2 front panels are covered, it would make the Streak feel HUGE. Its already a big phone, but nice and slim. Take that slimness away, then its just A BIG PHONE.

1) Touch buttons can work perfectly well though a properly designed case
2) Camera and sensor too - ever heard of holes?
3) The Streak is huge anyway - 1mm on the front isn't going to make any difference - not least to those want "total protection" (sic). I note Dell don't make that claim on the US site. Scared of being sued perhaps?
4) The flip out back is another fail - if the hinge was higher up it could have acted as stand too
5) Even if the case was perfect, it's only a cheap bit of moulded PU which compared to "most other cases for any other phones" would cost £5 max. Also why is it $19.99 on the US site but £25 (~$39) in the UK? If that's not clear proof Dell are shafting punters I don't know what is.

Most likely due to VAT I would believe.
Anyone know of any sort of sleave cases for the streak? I liked the old sleave case I had for my g1 and would fancy the same for my dell.
I love the way some Brits just roll over when being taken for a ride. Since when has VAT been 100% markup?
I see PDAir are now doing Streak cases which is good to to see. But disappointed that they are also also taking liberties on pricing in comparison with similar devices i.e. $50 vs. $28 for N810.
I appreciate any business will charge the maximum the market will stand but it seems Dell's ludicrous original accessory pricing has meant that Streak owners are now a soft target for everyone else.
Got to admit Dells pricing says "We don't want to sell this stuff" to me. Somebody at Dell doesn't live in the real world.

Dell Streak plastic case
I have had this case for at least 2 weeks. The phone dropped out my hands twice when connect to the usb charger. It hit the floor from about a foot and a half height. The glass was intact but I noticed that right next to the power button the streaks plastic frame had popped out. All I had to do was snap it back in no issues. Just realized that this case does not adsorb shock it sends the force to the streak itself. Going to buy another case once they become available. By the way case is already scratched up.

Blue and black case from Sprint store.

I bought one of these and after a week and a half the little clips that hold the front piece on broke. Has anyone else had this problem? If so raw there any problem taking back? I sent my receipt in to get my rebate.

Even though you don't have your receipt you still should be able to go to the sprint store and have it replaced it.
When I got my Black case from the sprint store the guy told me that He also had a note in my acct. that I was entitled to have a free replacement if anything was wrong with it within a year.
Just got outta the Sprint store and got the black case. Fits tighter than the other one and just had to pay the difference. Plus this one comes with the belt clip.

If it's the HTC branded case, I'm rather shocked you broke it.
I've had mine on and off a few times and that bad boy is really tight. Actually, thinking about it, it may be because it was on so tight you had a hard time removing it and broke it.
You shouldn't have any trouble getting the case swapped out. It's a much better fitting case than the Seidio/Platinum version of the same thing and a good side effect, if you can get the Seidio belt clip it works just fine with this case.
The case was really tight. I knew that goin into it. And I only took it off once and was extremely careful when removing it. Even made a custom tool to get between the phone and the case. Shimmed it on either side of the clips so I wasn't putting any stress on em. Might of just been a bad cover. Got the black one with the faux cabin fiber on the back. Works awesome. Plus it makes the keyboard really stiff and since I use the on-screen keyboard I don't have to worry about the keyboard sliding out on me.

I cant even get the top portion of the blue htc case off its on so tight! anyone have this problem?? lol
That's why I made a little shim to stick between the case and the phone. Way too hard to get apart.

Is this something you left there full time or something more like a once used tool? If you left this there it may have caused just enough stress on the already too tight cover and caused your breakage.
This case was designed to go on, stay on FOREVER. hahahaha
I've only taken the front piece off 2x. Once to put on a screen protector then a week later to remove said crappy feeling screen protector. Other than that, the front piece stays on all the time.
It was just a one time use tool. Had to take the case off to change screen protectors. I made out of 24 gauge steel which is less than .04" thick. The case broke while trying to get it off a second time without the tool when my phone froze and had to pull the battery.

The only OEM accessory specifically designed for the HTC EVO Shift 4G and sold in Sprint corporate retail stores is the leather case. The black 3 piece carbon fiber and plastic cover/holster as well as the 2 piece black/blue and pink/white covers are manufactured by two different third party vendors.
going on 3 1/2 weeks and the case still fits snug
I bought the black/blue case from the Sprint store and mine also broke! The case was SO tight that when I tried replacing the case the corner clip broke off just like the OP! I bought a simple black replacement case on ebay for $5 and its snug as a bug, and comes off easily in case I need to access the battery compartment.
i have the blue black htc branded case i got mine at radioshack for 20 bucks after my foursquare mayors 20% discount and i have to say its perfect now if i could just find a leather case to fit over it
How did you get a foursquare discount?
Is this the case with the texturized back with the HTC logo near the bottom?
If so - it's been holding up fine for me over the past month, even survived a couple of drops to the ground from waste-high.
I have noticed that the slider has become slightly loose - like, it has maybe a millimeter of play in it now. Not sure if that's the because of the case, or because I dropped the phone on the ground twice in the past month.

Seidio ACTIVE Case (with kickstand) for HTC Vivid

Android Central has this case for 1/2 off today only. Does anyone have any experience with this case? I am especially wondering how it affects touch along the edges of the screen. That is my biggest complaint with cases in general.

May post pics later if requested?
I got this case today and I'm very happy with it . shipping was very fast it only took 2 days to come from florida . I like how the corners are protected with hard material, but everything that touches the phone is soft .
You can't know your limits until you exceed them.
I got mine Friday, very fast shipping.
I don't think it interferes with the edges. Stand doesn't really work in portrait mode. Either mode well when plugged in which is how I mostly use it.
Overall, I'm glad I got it. especially at half price, not sure I would get it at full price.
Got my case today too. Love the kickstand
Sent from my HTC PH39100
By propping something under the power cord so it's straight and not pulling down, I've had better success getting it to stand up in portrait mode.
After using this case/holster for a while I have more feedback. The spring loaded clip on the holster would be better if the spring were stiffer. It doesn't take much effort to release the phone. I fear that lifting my jacket will one day will cause it to fall.
I haven't dropped it yet, but probably will soon now that I've said that.
The holster clip has a few times found its way under the softer part of the cover at the top edge (where the ear speaker is located).
I work in a physical environment and have no scratches on the hard part of the cover.
So far, is give this this a 9/10. The only hit is the weak retainer spring.
You can't know your limits until you exceed them.

Best Case *SO FAR* :)

After trying several cases for my Nexus 7, knowing there aren't any specifically for the Nexus 7 at any retail stores, this was the best one I've come across. It will hold me over until an official case comes out (I've kept the receipt so I can return it). I just can't have such an awesome piece of tech sitting around without a case and without the ability to use it as a stand for viewing. The leather is genuine and the case is simply gorgeous. I love the way if holds the tablet without the clamps/rubberized holding mechanism actually rubbing or touching the bezel. All ports are accessible while it is in the case and the power/volume buttons are very easily accessible.
Found it at Fry's this morning on the way to work but it will set you back $59.99. One of the best portfolio stand cases I've ever owned for any of my devices. High end.

None, which is hard to say about most cases. I've always had something I've disliked about a case but have dealt with it. I've also always went for the cheaper the better in the past. This case is truly a "you get what you pay for" case. The way it holds the very edges of the tablet is my favorite part. It looks like it is floating in the case and the parts that hold the tablet in place never really become part of the view. The access to all buttons and inputs as well as the quality of the leather are great. The actual stand aspect allows for infinite viewing angles and never feels cheap, like the stand portion is going to collapse at any moment.
This case looks really nice. I personally want a colored case though and not the standard brown/black. Also, I'd rather pay a bit more for a case that I really like and thats going to last me a while then buy a cheap case that I'm not that into, deciding that Im not satisfied with it and having to buy more. So if I see something that I fall in love with then I don't mind pulling the trigger as long as its not 100+

Nice. It fits perfectly? Usually cases with the plastic clips are pretty picky about what they'll work with. If so, I'm thinking about buying one of these gtab 2 7.0 cases and adding a "smart cover" magnet to it.

I just pulled the edges on the 4 rubber ends out slightly, if that makes sense, and when the tablet was in place, they wrapped perfectly around each corner of the tablet. It takes a tiny bit of "fitting", but once it's on, it's all good.

How about the speaker in the back, is it covered or are there holes for it?
There are no holes for the speaker. I did a test at max volume and I have no idea why but it sounds louder with it in the case then out of the case. It could be the way it's configured with the speaker near flush but with a decimeter or so gap. I know with my phones and tablets that they tend to sound louder when they are angled near a wall and I seem to get the same effect with this case.

I don't know, may be not the same quality but it's hard to judge from photos, or even the prizes.
Only way to judge is hand-on experience like the OP's case, his case looks good also because when the back holds on to four corners only, whereas these ones are a bit 'uneven' (when viewed in portrait mode) : p
I would perfer something that holds on to the edges of Nexus 7 only, like the Official Case or this:

Just make sure to get the one that is shipped and sold by Amazon. I got one last week for $12 and it is 100% genuine. Not the best case I have ever used, but for $12 It's a cool case for going out, and showing off.

mine takes like three weeks to get here
Can anyone confirm, that the M8 fits with the Dot view Case in the Car D190?
Regarding shipping, I ordered just before or after I posted, on a Saturday. They said it would be here Monday. It was here Tuesday. So 3 days instead of 2 (I have Amazon Prime).
The case fits but not completely. The bottom part fits like a glove. There's no mistaking how it fits in. Perfect fit. However the lid (the dot view part) does not close all the way. I have nothing on my screen, not even a screen protector.
The dot view gimmick is just that. You can swipe on the case but you have to really press. You might be surprised by how much pushing you have to do. You can't change the theme. You can't customize a thing about it. You can change the temperature units in Settings → HTC Weather. This is not very intuitive and it's not stated anywhere in the manual.
The magnet thing works great. When you open it, the screen comes on. When you close it, the phone goes to sleep.
Dark grey means grey that is not light. I wouldn't call it dark, either. It's just grey. It's similar to the gun metal grey finish of the phone (if you have that option — I do, except stupid PC Verizon calls it "metal grey" since "gun" is a bad word now) but matte, not glossy. And it extends the premium feel of your phone. It feels like a premium product. It feels like a genuine HTC accessory.
It does leave dot view smudges on your screen, but these are easily wiped off with a microfiber cloth, which every phone owner should have, anyway.
You can forget about one-hand usage. You will need the other hand to hold the case open while you text.
I use a FlyGrip and I have their case. The FlyGrip would not stick to the bare back of the HTC One M8. I don't know if that's because the adhesive doesn't bond to metal. It's peeled off my naked Samsung Galaxy S3 and two of its cases cleanly, so the bond is not permanent. I might try attaching my FlyGrip to the Dot View case, but what would be the point? The FlyGrip is made to accommodate one-handed phone use. Dot View prevents it. And with a FlyGrip, you gain a kickstand, but you just can't lay your phone flat on its back.
So now I have two cases, and though I meant to take the Dot View case to work, I just didn't bother taking my phone out of the FlyGrip case. I intend to keep the Dot View case, but probably won't. I have one IRL friend with a One M8, and I might let him try it out, but he only uses his phones naked. He doesn't like cases at all and thinks they're a waste of time that take away from the engineering of the phone — especially a nice one like ours. And I don't disagree, but I like the FlyGrip's utility. It's useful to me. It prevents drops. But it isn't cheap.
Bought a new one because it's cheaper, forgot it doesn't work well with my glass screen protector. =\

Theme stuff is in the HTC Dot View app. If not on phone, then it's on Google Play.
Also if you're rooted, you can do a lot more, theme-wise.
