I don't mean price. Would it be pointless to put this in my phone?

If you need that much space, it wouldn't be pointless.

Space for me is necessary. I have a lot of music, plus I'm becoming a flashaholic. I was also thinking of partitioning, 16 GB to external and 16 for phone memory. If that's possible. Just tossing some ideas around in my head right now

Available space on the 16gb version is 13.33gb.
There is no separate partitions for apps and data like there is on the kindle fire.

Need information before buying

Hey guys, my sister is thinking on buying a LG p970 Optimus Black but beforehand I'd like to settle down some doubts: whats the last android version it can be updated to? Does it have a gyroscope? Does the 4.2 camera (with photosphere) work on it? Thanks!
Sent from my GT-P3100 using XDA Premium HD app
Officially it can b updated to icecream sandwich...
Unofficially it can b updated to latest android version but it is far from stable..!!
Camera 4.2 works but is nt fully functional..infact its laggy.
Frankly go for other new phones wid bttr technology at almost same price..
Next is upto u

Of course price is low, but the device is failed...
Just go through Google for people opinions.
Main backlog no internal memory..
yes but these drawbacks must be expected for such a low price

Agreed. The phone looks nice but I think the S4 is still better. I had a Nexus device once and it was ok. But the rom options are basically all variations of aosp/cm. It's nice having the option of TW as well.

Tri band lte and snap dragon 800. Sounds like a beast! This will be the best lte connectivity device. Its tempting.

The removable battery I could take or leave. I would've agreed with you about the SD card situation until recently, when I realized that I was using less than half of my card. I've also recently uploaded all of my music to Google Music, so my local storage needs are basically limited to photos and videos that I take with the phone. Even THAT isn't really a big deal anymore since it's all uploaded to Dropbox anyway.
Either way though, I'm willing to make the tradeoff at this point.

Good points all around.
I'm not up for an upgrade. It definitely is tempting. And I guess it would only be about $100 after selling the S4.
Just don't know if it's worth it. I can see where you're coming from after the issues you had yesterday.

Purposeful throttling

Does anyone know a manner in which to purposefully throttle my data (like 40kbps)? I'd prefer slightly slower data so my kids couldn't use it up so fast on accident.

Can't say I've ever heard of anybody wanting to do that, but I'm sure you can call and request that from AT&T.

That's actually the best idea. Disable the LTE capability of his phone.

all the better. so kids will just be "to hell with it" and leave your phone alone.
It won't be _that_ slow. 3g is the perfect answer.
