This is amazing, I can use my Apple Bluetooth keyboard on my nexus 7. I'll add a video later.

Yes, any keyboard should work. The special keys won't be there obviously, but any keyboard should just work.
No need for a video. Why is it amazing? Bluetooth is a standard...

My Apple Bluetooth Keyboard does not work on my Xperia Tablet S.
It was suggested to use BlueInput Demo or the expensive full version

Apple Keyboard and Apple Magic Mouse works!
I've tried it with my N7.

More reason to have a nexus 7

I also use my apple Bluetooth keyboard and mouse on my N7. Wife got them with her iMac, then doesn't use them. So why not?
Was so happy to find they both work!

Do the F1 to F12 keys work as expected? I'm thinking about getting one of these keyboards to use both on a mac and also on a Nexus for SSH, so being able to send function keys is crucial for my use case.
Thanks for posting, I found this post searching exactly this question, and you've already answered it for me, I appreciate it.
Callum.

hey i went into a verizon store and really liked the keyboard from this thing. it gives you the .com button when you are in webpages so you dont have to type it out. also had a nice color scheme. someone in the charge section was nice enough to post the keyboard. was wondering if whoever is capable could do a port for the nexus. thanks.

If you have an internet enabled TV or other device, try this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bianor.amspremium
Don't think it works with Play Movies or Music, should with everything else though (side loaded content).
Apologies if it has been posted before.

Yeah imedia share and skifta are altenatives to allshare for streaming things from your phone computer or hard drive, no offense but, that's old news Is there a way to stream google's play movie rentals to our TV. Now that's the million dollar question.
Yeah, there's a way, it's a Nexus Q. And it costs more than your tablet. -Ara

LOL. It seems like google is trying to go apple on us. There has to be a workaround. If not there will be. hopefully.

I hope this will be the case but if not, I think Android Transporter and a Raspberry Pi will eventually provide the same functionality (after some development).

Hmmmm... I ill try some of these out. Thanks
Has anyone accessed their movies through YouTube apps for their TV? The Google movies pop on there, or at least transformers did.

I'm sure this will benefit a lot of people but for me tethering is still the way to go. Free and saves battery on my N7.

Yeah saves N7 battery but not my phones lol

Always thought this was inevitable. Bet they've realized that they're missing out on sales to Samsung, because some want 3G or 4G built it, or can't tether due to their contract.
Happy tethering to my Arc, when I get another one of course.......... (Just have to carry around my spare battery lol)
I'm just wondering what price will jump to??
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Ugh. This is good news and bad. Good news because I've always wanted a mobile connection. But bad because I already purchased this one!! Dammit. Guess this will be going on eBay soon.
I wish they would add a rear camera. Nexus 7 + rear camera + 3G would be a decent contender against ipad mini
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Like all 3g/4g enable tablets, sales will be abysmal. Who in their right mind would sign up for a data contract on such a low price tablet and pay $30 a month?
I have a spare sim I can use but i see your point wouldn't be worth an expensive contract

People like myself who are seriously considering using the nexus 7 as a phone. I might not get the next nexus phone if they come out with dated specs like they have done with the past two.

I don't see it being a big seller. One of the biggest selling points is the price. Add another $150/200 and a data plan......big time deal breaker!!!

How so? It's not like I hold up the tablet to my head when I make calls. I just plug in my headset or Bluetooth. In fact people are amazed when they see me make calls on it. I get friends asking "you can make calls on that thing? " it's especially funny to see their face when I tell them it's free too (google voice + talkatone).

You would look stupid taking pictures on a tablet.
Nah.
I'm happy w/tethering from my phone. Saves battery, plus I never go over 5gb anyway. Besides, didn't Asus or Google sell the Nexus 7 at a lost? If so, then is this a way to recoup their loss?

I'm not so sure a 3g enabled N7 would have a phone function built in anyway.
In any case, even if I had the choice on release I would have still gone Wi-Fi.

So naive. I'm already using it as a softphone and it works fine. CsipSimple works better than any other softphone I've used. This includes ALL of the crappy Windows softphones.

The N7 is portable but its not that portable to use it as a phone lol. Can you really carry the thing around like a cellphone?!! Wow I give you props if you can. A cell is still a lot more convenient when making calls. I understand Google voice etc but I dunno if I could do it full time.

Good dictionary, gesture type. And best of all it has the number pad along the top like a laptop keyboard.

I'd say they will almost definitely work; the Nexus 7 fully supports the A2DP Bluetooth protocol, which Bluetooth headsets like these use. Don't expect them to sound great, though, they don't look great
