PLEASE PROVIDE ME A LINK for CORRECT ROM from the Thread.
*And After flashing GB ROM whats the next step..?
*Please Suggest me a Perfact Stable ROM that have all features of NOTE like S-PEN n S-Note etc.
THANKYOU

So to summarize: you have problems with the Galactus Rom but not with other Custom Roms?

no actully when i flashed ROMs like ([4.1.2][JZO54k.N7000XXLSC][25-12-2012] or Galactus or Aliance) BIGGER size ROMs(above 600 M.B.) they create problem.. otherwise all Lite ROMs like Asylum or Paranoid etc(less than 400 M.B.) they work fine ..!!
i need all features like S-PEN,SNOTE etc and their are no features in such kind of ROMs..

Did you wipe before flashing Galactus or after flashing Galactus?

yes i did WIPE and FACTORY RESET both..

i just want to know that ..should i first flash GB ROM .. because i recently ROOTed my PHone, and had flash the Galactus Rom(4.1.2 JB) ,it may cause problem ..? HANGs on boot screen

I think its not a new phone .. right ? what is the capacity of USB storage ? check in settings>storage

Maybe he bought a bricked device which uses the workaround.
So the "memory available" check is necessary.

Yeah my phone is not new i brought on 7/8/2012 (around 3 months old) n its internl storage shows-
11.8 G.B. avalible
With 16G.B. micro SD

That is the normal memory isn't it? So it is not bricked.

No not used repartition method at least. . If its JTAGed the memory will be ok and sometimes encounter freeze issues. Anyways. Flash any rom it necessarily rooted. Then upgrade via kies and check on ICS if the phone is still freezing

Many users faces the same problem on xxlc and xxlsa based roms try a jb rom based on xxls7 or just go with rocket rom v12 ics.. Anyway official jb is around the corner!

[Q] Moving from Rooted Stock GB to Custom ROMs Help?

Hi all,
I'm currently on stock Gingerbread, which I have rooted via the ODIN method (I flashed No-Wipe N7000XXLA6_N7000OXEULA1_XEU Europe (03/02/2012) from THIS thread) and would like to move onto installing custom ROMs (namely the ParanoidAndroid ROM)
I was just wondering if someone could provide me with some instructions on how to do it, as the ones in the thread doesn't mention any kernels or moving from stock ROMs.

Thanks !
since you are on GB, you may also flash abyssnote42 touch kernel.
you may wish even to stay on that GB rom with that kernel, but from that setup, you can follow the rest of the instructions.
I've heard a lot about abyss, but how would I revert back to stock kernel in the instance of warranty etc? And if I flash abyss I can follow the standard instructions for PA right? e.g
Install Rom: http://d-h.st/DtV
Install HYBRID Gapps: http://4ndr01d.com/drcmda/common/
Wipe caches, factory reset is a must if you're coming from another rom than CM9
If your statusbar is gone after the first reboot: longpress Powerbutton > Toggle Statusbar
Reboot and edit your Apps Dpi under Settings/Paranoid Settings/P.A.D. Hold the powerbutton to see the new fullscreen-togglebutton

yes, your right, Because your on GB now you can just flash the abyss kernel and flash the ROM.
as for reverting to stock, When / If the time comes, just download a full firmware package from XDA or Sammobile and flash it using ODIN, that will flash everything back to stock
easy peasy !
That's it guys, I've decided I'm going to go with Franco kernel, from his thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1491428
BUT, I don't understand the instructions when he says
Stock XXLPY/LPF only - confirmed and working

Could someone give me instructions on what I would need to do to install his kernel? Thanks!
(Details of my current setup in first post)
If I flashed franco kernel or Speedmod kernel through Mobile ODIN that would be fine right? I don't want any yellow triangle and plan on installing either of the 2 kernels, and then after a while MAYBE install Paranoid Android.
Would that work?
Thanks!
yes, you can use mobile odin to flash kernels
you wont get yellow triangle via mobile odin
Custom Gingerbread ROMs

Thank you for your response, dratif.
The custom ROM you have suggested, is it based on Gingerbread?
Also, what are the other available custom ROMs based on Gingerbread?
Friends, I am currently on a stock Gingerbread ROM and the Android version is 2.3.6
Considering I intend on flashing a custom Gingerbread ROM, should I look at one built only on 2.3.6 or would any custom ROM built on 2.3.x would suffice?

Great - I have a P3113 that had 4.0.3 on and and I rooted it (which installed CWrecovery on it). I then copied this update ZIP file to the sd card and installed it using the CWR and when I boot up, it now just cycles through the startup logo, make a little chime sound and resets and keep in a loop - I can't even figure out how to turn the power off.
Nice!

Thanks for the tip - it will come in handy again I am sure.
I also found another thread that allowed me to use odin to restore to the stock ROM.
I didn't want to use a "newer" rom (4.1) because from what I understand, android 4.1 and newer dont support flash, but 4.03 does. That was pretty much the only reason why.

4.1.x does support flash in the stock browser. You just either gave to restore the app from a backup, or side load/install it.

[Q] Stuck in Bootloop or Soft Brick?

I may have screwed up my note pretty darn badly I guess :crying:
I was on CM10 today morning. Wanting to go to Alliance JB I flashed Stock GB over CM10. Did a wipe and got into KJ1 2.3.6
Then flashed CSC again as keyboard was showing null error.
It was a pre rooted ROM downloaded from Dr.Ketan's link. Next I upgraded to ICS DDLP8 via Mobile Odin and flashed CF-Root Kernel
As per Alliance ROM install instructions I downloaded ROM Customizer and flashed the Alliance ROM zip. Galaxy Note logo popped up and the Alliance ROM bootscreen came up but the O in ROM just kept popping and phone didn't get booted.
I figured it was dead so I switched the phone off by removing the battery. Now I came home and booted into TWRP and wiped data, cache and dalvik. Rebooted again but no luck. Switched off and rebooted again into recovery and wiped system. Installed Alliance ROM but no luck. Wiped system again.
Now I plugged my Note into my PC and flashed DDLP8 via PC Odin but again my note seems to be stuck in a bootloop.
Any solutions?
Please help me out. I am deep in this mess.
All help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Kaushik
Start again with the prerooted Rom flashed with PC Odin you used before (because this worked and was the base for your next steps).
Do as ThaiDai just said. But in future, don't flash ROMs with CF-Root ICS. Format command in updater script with unpatched update binary can result in a brick because CF-Root ICS kernel is pure stock without brick bug removed. Only CWM wipes and nandroid restores are safe. You are lucky this time because Alliance only uses delete recursive.

As he is already on DDLP8 .. i would say flash a DDLR9 philz kernel using recovery and boot into cwm and do a factory reset
I downloaded DDLRB the latest 4.0.4 ROm from Dr.Ketan's stock ROM thread. Went to prerooted GB and flashed ICS over it. Now running Philz Kernel on it
Thanks for the help guys. I tried to go to Alliance JB ROM again. Installed ROM Customizer and flashed Alliance ROM. All went well and my phone said it flashed succesfully. But now am bootlooping on the Alliance ROM logo.

Should I boot into recovery and do a factory reset or shall I restore my nandroid backup to 4.0.4 ?
Thanks,
Kaushik
after new rom.. wait for about 5 mins to check if it loads up.. check if the touch buttons lit up.. if yes then wait
always before flashing a new rom.. go into recovery and format /system, data , cache and preload. this will save you from doing a factory reset after installing the new rom. now you do a factory reset .
From your fist sentence I guess that you installed and started a Rom successfully.
If so, you do not have a general problem but "only" one with the specific Custom Rom (Alliance).
So you should post in the Rom thread because there might be an issue with the specific (singular) installation procedure Robbie uses or a mistake you make when you use it.

You're right. The problem seems to be with Alliance ROM only. So I guess I will continue in that thread. Going back to 4.0.4 now
Waited quite long but my phone kept rebooting on and on and on.
It sucks cos I've been spoiled by CM10 and wanted to experience JB on Touchwiz
Thank you all for the help. :highfive:

[Q] Stock Note ( other than rooted )

Hello guys I've been reading some of the update threads around here and still can find my answer .. so here I come ready for bashing but hopefully an guide too ..
As title said Stock N7000 no other mod apart from rooted which I did from the day one I had it .. can't recall the exact method I use but it works flawless ..
So now I wanna go to JB and actually have it but not sure if I should flash it having 2.6.35.14-ver.4.2 Kernel Version .. dunno if matters ( believe not ) but my GB version it's the UBKK6.
Sure I have rom manager installed just not sure which Kernel + JB combo I should use .. since looks like there are not many N7000 around there with this Kernel ..
appreciate any link to read ..
I was checking on the N7000 wiki but looks like it's not up to date anymore ..
looks like there is no other complication associated with my rooted phone more than make it clean ( data / cache ) before flash .?
Note: my root method raise the counter in my Note so I have the exclamation at boot.

You should be able to update to JB from GB without any issues as the JB ROM will have a kernel included.
what I would suggest to do is download philz kernel for JB (any one) and flash it, once flashed DO NOT REBOOT just go to advanced and select 'reboot recovery' Now you will be in a new JB kernels CWM, from here you can go to philz settings and select 'clean for new ROM'
Once done, Flash the JB ROM of your choice and then continue with the install method for that ROM.
NB: The JB ROM & Files must be on your SD card before you flash philz kernel.
if you flash the JB rom using PC odin with the phone in download mode, you dont need to worry about all these..
odin flashable can be found on samfirmware.com or in the dev section or general which is deodexed and rooted..
Nice and thanks ..
Wonder if I should be able to do the same with mobile odin ..? ( I can buy the full version ) since I only have a Chrome book at home
Yes you can use Mobile odin as well. Needs root.
There is any ROM you want to suggest t based in your experience .. I'm ( was ) pretty much happy with my stock ROM ( just rooted ) so I can be easy to please

After some time reading about ROMs I'm gonna try the Alliance one .. downloading now and will post my impressions when ready ..
Ok .. did the hole thing .. gotta said Mobil Odin it's a blast .. after some this and that discover super user needs to be installed in order to TB to work .. then I recover all my settings and apps ( with data ) .. nice ..
One kinda big deal thing .. I have no mobil/data ..
Alliance JB looks it works wonder in all aspect .. just this one .. signal symbol switch from full signal to no signal

New roms and kernels - can I do anything I want? - I don't want to brick phone

Hi.
So my Awesome man @tetakpatak helped me to fix my phone yesterday. Although it seemed hard it was quite easy. Too easy. That's where my question goes. I installed Froyo "stock" rom after my phone was "broken" and after that got a new kernel and installed CM.
Can I do this every time? I mean when I want to change Kernel or Rom I could just wipe phone, Install Froyo by Odin and later go with any ROM that there is in ROM section?
Or it doesn't work that way? Or I need to install older versions of roms and update them?
Lets say I want to install ParanoidAndroid or Darky instead of my CM now - I just wipe all data and cache and install.zip thru CWM?
What about Kernel?
Thanks in advance, have a nice day.

Great it works now, mate
In general, yes, after anything with custom ROMs goes wrong it is best one can do to reflash it with a stock ROM. It can actually be any stock ROM, I just adviced to do it with Froyo as I've checked short ago that all download links are still "alive".... and.... in my opinion Froyo is somehow really good ground to be updated to the CM.
So it would be wise to save all the files and software you used, as they worked well for your phone
No problem flashing and trying other ROMs. Always read well the opening post of the threads and pay attention what is important to do. Always save your data externally (and backup your IMEI/efs with terminal emulator app) and wipe all before changing ROM. If anything goes wrong by overwriting your custom ROM, flash stock ROM again and upgrade from there
My last words.... to all users of an amazing, old, good SGS GT-i9000: please consider to make a little donation to the developer pawitp. That amazing developer keeps this phone still alive. Nearly all kernels and ROMs you find on the forum wouldn't exist if pawitp wasn't there. He now works on stabilizing the CM10.2 / Android 4.3 for our beloved i9000 somewhere in Thailand, and he doesn't even own this phone!
