280 nexus 4's on ebay and counting...

One of those could have been mine. Instead, some f&$king a#$%ole decided they would turn a quick buck and resell it on ebay/craigslist for more. So many people weren't able to get in on this because the first wave of devices sold out so quickly. Now they're forced to either wait, or pay a premium. Am I the only one that finds that infuriating?
To top it off, T-mobile is selling the phone claiming that the MSRP is $499. How is the MSRP $499 when google sells it for $350?!
I'm unbelievably frustrated today!

I wouldn't buy one from there on principle. Also if it has any faults your screwed.

Selling products for more than they're worth when they're in short supply is called gouging, not capitalism.

To me this was the one thing Google should have prevented, at least initially. No one should have been able to order more than 1 or 2 in the 1st wave. I know they did this when the GN came out....was like a limit of 5 per person I think. There certainly shouldnt have been anyone allowed to purchase 200+ on initial launch.

It didn't seem like Google even had 200 in stock

I agree. I don't believe anyone could have ordered 200...but it's possible I suppose. All I wanted was one. It's just frustrating seeing so many for sale at such a huge premium on ebay...it's just greedy.

It is called making money welcome to reality mate

T-mo is selling it at MSRP because that's the device cost from LG
Google is subsidizing it on the Play Store.
People do that all the time at launches, Google mistake was allowing more than one device to be bought per person. Others are selling it because the mess that happened and they ordered more than one by accident.

After eBay fees etc Dont think they will make much 16 gig is like 400 after taxes shipping even if they sell it for 500 they'll make 50 bucks? Meh

Im not promoting fraud, not anymore than people that but out all the stocks to sell above cost, and I'm betting you're one of them

200 isn't that much considering how many were sold to legitimate users. I think google would have done better with a strict limit of 2 per order but they went with a higher number.
As an aside I remember when the ps3 came out and resellers got pwnd because there were plenty of supplies.

Just wait a few weeks, your life is not going to somehow be magically worse off just because you didn't get in on the first wave.

$499 MSRP? $499 Is T-Mobile insane? Google sells them for $349. T-Mobile adds bloatware for $150.

Problems with launch:
1. No clear time to order. Many people missed their orders
2. 3 week delays for orders that were placed minutes into the store opening.
3. Crashing website, repeat orders.
4. Limbo-ness

They already waived the shipping fees for the people on 3 week delay.

You're going to need a more effectively articulated argument for that to ever be taken seriously.

They refunded shipping thats all they really owe anyone if it doesn't arrive on time. We are not entitled to more.

I think this is beyond technical difficulties. They didnt even determine a launch hour leaving many of us waiting 3AM in the morning to order a phone. I think they mis-managed things, not just the technical breakdown of their google play store opening. Think about how many people with their chrome auto-refresh plugin that checked every 5 seconds for an update added on to the load of the google play server. Its really mismanaged and its like they were asking to be DDOSed with crome plugins.

Do we really need loads of threads whining about this?

I'd like a Samsung 830 256GB SSD for my laptop. Please.

I want them to make me the ceo of google.. lol.. i ll ship every nexus to every1 for free.. haha

I expect them to refund shipping cost.
Since the shipping cost is counted before tax is calculated, I expect them to refund the tax on shipping, too.

In Canada, I can only imagine the price with the exchange rate and taxes will put it well over $1000. Not sure how I feel about this.

Lol way to botch a launch. So much Samsung in my house you know they ship tons of stuff.... So why can't they get it right? Could also be a difference in culture. I know in America we want the latest and we want it now... Maybe over there things don't get as much interest?

I'm not spending over $1k, that's insane. To me there is no phone worth that much. Especially when I consider the features of Touchwiz that I don't use. I have always said that I wouldn't buy a phone that did not include both a micro SD slot and removable battery after owning an S3. If prices are this high the Nexus 6/X will move way up my list and I'll hold off to see what it offers. Here's to hoping they offer it to us for $850 maximum.

Hmm, so it says in fine print you're trade in phone needs to be worth $10 or more, and you'll get check for difference between $200 and your trade-in value.
So glad I kept my Galaxy S2 Skyrocket in a drawer for the last couple years. Shows it's worth $26 trade in. So can get a check for $174, and can get the Note 4 for really cheap.

How do you find out how much your phone is worth? I got my old fascinate.

I traded in an old (and unused for the past several years) iphone 4.
They appraised it at $65.
I really didnt care about the trade in price as long as it was more than $10.
They are sending the shipping materials, then I will just have to wait for the Note 4 to arrive so I can fill out the form on the Samsung webpage to get the $135 balance.
Bottom line is that the Note 4 only cost me $99 !

Phoneraiser and Nexus 6 Christmas giveaway!

Hey guys you may not be familiar with this but last year my wife had asked me to possibly post on my 4 main forum sites that I use about her works annual phoneraiser AND before you stop reading let me explain the out come of this can land you a new "white" nexus 6.. She works for a children's and battered women's shelter and each year they hold this phone raiser to try to get phones to give to there clients so aka the battered women.. I don't believe they give them to the children I think that's another department.. So pretty much what I'm asking is if you have any old phones you don't use does not matter the condition as long as they still can make a call and text if you would donate them to her work for these people and in return for every phone you send in I'll put you in a drawling for a nexus 6 that I will pull the name on Christmas day as I did last year with the nexus 5 last year we were able to get 24 phones which was great! Hey bill ya those phones are fine any really as long as they work and I think that they have to be Sim card phones because of the prepaid whateverness they use.. I could not see them paying for real service for the phones sense they are just reusable deals for whenever they need them! They deal with thousands of clients so they use a lot and by what I understand they go through a lot of these phones.. I appreciate your donation and 2 phones is 2 times the chance of winning the nexus 6 as for android forums I may or may not post there just depends I have 4 donations on here.. Well 5 now so we will see how it goes I'll run it all the way till December 24th like I did last year for the nexus 5
