You can try the custom ROMs from the development threads.. You can upgrade to android 4.0, 4.1, 4.2.. You cannot directly upgrade to higher versions from gingerbread as samsung will not provide updates to galaxy ace.. But this will void your warranty, so upgrade at your own risk and only if you are sure of what you are doing..

Galaxy ace won't be updated further than gingerbread so going to sammobile is a waste of time..
AW: Help in androd
I can recommend Wayland's CM 10.1 ROM. It is a beta, but really good.
(It is Android 4.2.1 JellyBean.)

Hi, first off im a noob when it comes to this stuff so try to be patient with me
I recently rooted my SGAce S5830-D And put CWM on it, everything went fine.
Then I went to flash it to ICS 4.0.3 And the installation aborted and I soft bricked my phone >.>
I just flashed it back to Gingerbread 2.3.4 and I was wondering.
Is there a difference between Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 and the S5830D in terms of what you flash it with?
Id rather not brick my phone again so I came here to make sure.
Also, if you could provide a link to a ROM that would work for my model that you know works 100% please do would be
very helpful, thanks in advance.
Galaxy Ace S5830 and S5830-D are very different models. You cant (and should not ) install S5830 ROM's on your phone. It will get brciked again.

you mean galaxy s plus i9001..?
We disscuss two phones here. It would be nice if you and others read the stickey thread made by the moderators.
Add a prefix next time ([I9000] or [I9001] or another..)
And use some search please i mean we have two Android Development sections if you want it for the I9000: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=665
And for the I9001: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1270
explain better
if you intend i9000, no official update to 4.1.2 (only custom Rom)
No official JB or ICS update for i9000, only good ol' GB...

Recently I updated Samsung Galaxy mini plus s5570i from Android GB 2.3.6 to Jellyblast V3 and it's working just fine, thanks for the developing team, Jellyblast V3 for s5570i thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1972961
But after several failing attempts to flash the Arabic Language support provided, I came across this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1873654, in which zalzondabuzz has provided an Arabic Pack for Galaxy Y, I flashed it in my s5570i and it work great. Thanks zalzondabuzz and other developers.
You can find the Arabic Pack here http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?8hh0le8bgdhq36q, kindly follow the instructions provided in the original post, you do this on your own risk.
Enjoy !

Strictly saying, the firmware mentioned above and my experience was with the Galaxy mini plus s5570i, not with the Galaxy mini s5570. So unless someone has a successful experience with s5570, or you decided to be the first, keep on the safe side and search for the exact solutions for your mobile model.
Or, after getting the right version of Jellyblast for your model, enjoy the thrill of own risk taking, at last there are many commons between the Galaxy Y and the s5570.

You must read rules and then post in the correct section...
Next time use the Q&A Thread, thank you for understanding it

It's possible, but you need to update to Gingerbread in order to avoid issues
Here you have a great thread with all the information you need, read it carefully twice and then follow it

First thing you will need to do is to upgrade to Gingerbread. Here is the link on how to install stock rom using odin along with all firmwares and drivers (check the "Preparations" section),
Flash stock rom on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 using odin
If your PC cannot recognize the phone, its usually the drivers. Once installed, go to recovery mode (Power off and then hold Home+ Power button) and do a wipe data/ factory reset & wipe cache (otherwise bootloop might occur). Then restart. Now you have successfully flashed the stock rom. Here is the link for rooting and installing CWM 5 on Samsung Galaxy Ace,
How To Root and Unroot Samsung Galaxy Ace?
CWM 5.0.2.6 fix for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830
If you are interested in installing the CM 11 KitKat rom, then you can try KitKat for all by @Salim El Yabouri which can be installed from CWM 5. While all other KitKat rom requires you to have CWM 6 which is kinda unstable. Here is the link,
Kitkat For All
Hope I Helped
Hi guys I'm running CM11, ICS 4.2.2 on my Galaxy Ace, GT-S5660D and want to downgrade to the original OS the phone came with, I believe it was GB 2.3.6 or 2.3.7. My phone is rooted but I have no idea how to bring it back to the original Android version. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the quick response!
I'm not sure what odin is and I don't think I used it when I flashed CM11 onto my Ace.

Thanks this looks promising. But when looking at this site http://www.tsar3000.com/Joomla/inde...laxy-ace-firmwares&catid=55:samsung&Itemid=82 there's no Canada under S5830, only European countries. Should I download the Canadian firmware under S5830D?

Before you install anything, is your phone GT-5660D or GT-5830? Make sure to download the original firmware for your device. Installing any firmware meant for another device on your phone can, in the worst case, hard-brick your device. As for the firmwares, you can download the one that is near to your region. In fact, any regional firmware for a particular phone will work on it. You can also find all the Samsung Galaxy Ace firmwares in the following link,
[Share] All Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Stock Firmwares (2.3.X) Ever Released
Hope I Helped
I just did it with the help of that thread. Thanks all.
