i did read that whole thread and tried all the solutions(backups etc) but the IMEI doesnt show .... sorry for my n00bishness but this is the first galaxy i9000 ive ever handled...
Download this and flash all 3 files (exclude the rooting one for now) through Odin to the device. Then flash the rooting file through Odin once booted for first time. The imei should appear as well as baseband.
If you're updating to JB, go from GB > ICS > JB as the phone doesn't like the jump from GB > JB.
Hope that helps.
okay i flashed the 3 files first then let the phone boot and then restart and flashed the CFroot file .... but still no go . ... IMEI and baseband still says unknown .... :S ... im using oding 3.07 with no options ticked other than auto reboot ... im using the CODE file in PDA ... MODEM file in phone and CSC file in CSC
Mines worked with the above on version 3.04 and auto reboot and f. reset time ticked. Try it that way and see how you get on!

i think its better that you first go to stock rom xwjs3 with the boot loaders.
you can download them from sam firmware,
and then check in kies the csc must be normal again, if so you can flash the rom you want..
i had the same problem and i think it is because with xxjvk you get the new boot loaders, and you must go back to the old one for you're rom

how to get xwjs3 with the boot loaders.>??
yeah well i think that the best thing you can do is go to samfirmare.com
download there the xwjs3 firmware
this has the bootloader in it and wil bring everything to stock rom
you know how to flash that true odin?
once you have done that hang youre phone on kies and check the csc, it should say no (kor) more.
then you can flash youre firmware and it should be oke ( at least that helped for me )
i hope this wil help you!

hi bro thanks for the guide

the reason i wanna flash back cus my phome home button not response-ing

A flash wont fix a cracked camera lens .
Kies cannot deal with a rom that does not match the correct product codes and hardware ID of the original device network data .
If you require Singtel firmware you need to source it from somebody that backed it up as you i take it did not back up your firmware .
Alternative is to try the Kies registry spoofing methods posted on xda or the app from the market .

If any of the firmwares overwrote your product code (not the salescode in the CSC!) then the only solution I know about is to put a factory firmware which has lower version than the latest available through kies (that to make sure kies can be connected and the fw updated) and as a second step you have to manually edit the nv_data.bin file in the efs folder(make a backup before you do this!) with a HEX editor. Find the wrong product code the jist replace the letters, write it back to the efs folder and reboot. You should be fine.
And don't forget to flash a carrier specific CSC via Odin!

thanks all, i have sloved my problem. I also want to share my solution . I took uproom and hard reset hope if someone face to the same my problem, they can read my post hii
I've got the similar problem. My phone says "please put the sim card into the phone". This happened after I flashed Juwes 5.1 custom rom. My IMEI was corrupted after flashing, then I managed to restore it after I edited the nv_data.bin. Now I have an IMEI number, but the phone cannot recognize any simcard.
Reflashing to the stock rom with Odin doesn't help. I've already tried XXJVQ, now I've got XWJVI. Neither hard reset nor flight mode helps. I've already tried to delete nv_data.bin and nv_data.bin.md5 and reboot, but result is still the same. I cannot find any tipps for solution. Have you got an idea what could I try?
Here some information on my phone:
german version, not branded
*#06# shows the right IMEI
*2767*4387264636#:
Sellout SMS Off
Pcode: GT-I9000HKYDBT
Mode: Prod
*#1234#:
PDA I9000XWJVI
Phone I9000XXJVO
CSC I9000DBTJV2
everything seems to bi OK but it doesn't work. I have already found a topic in your forum about SIM initilializing bug, and somebody suggested to flash the following ROM:
(Rom) I9000 Hybrid / No TouchWiz *9/7/2010* for I9000
but its no longer available. EFS backup doesn't exist, as I deleted it some days before That was a big mistake.
Now I have to stay without my phone over the weekend

Hi,
There was no need for you to flash to stock ROM after installing Juwe's ROM 5.1. I am currently on the same ROM and faced the same problem. All i did was flash the JVQ modem via odin and my device recognized the SIM card. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your reply. as I'm now on stock rom, I've already flashed the stock JVI with phone and csc over ODIN. But this didn't solve the problem.
The problem is solved, After restoring my IMEI I was stupid enough, to put the sim the wrong way into the phone Now its working. Thank you guys.
hi tuteary Vtd, what do you mean by "uproom"?? i have the same problem, could you please give some more information about your solution?
thanks,

Go to Silkys thread and get cm9 modem

Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Well i'm from Algeria and i'm using the rom now , i can't seem to find the right Modem for my phone , can u plz show me which one to use ?
And also , there was another problem , when the phone is left without being touched and goes to standby mod it freezes then reboots !
Did you try reinstalling the ROM?
It could be the modem like Slaphead said.
Also could be that your IMEI number got scrambled. I know some ICS roms had problems with this. Try the search function there are bound to be some threads about this!
Good luck!
Try to reboot and see if it solves the prob.it usually does.
Or shut the phone off and pull battery for a 30 sec and boot up
Rebooted and took the battery off and did every thing i know to fix it but nothing seems to work, though i didn't flash an ICS Modem .. i just flashed the rom and Gaps as said in the tutorial. i also backed-up my /efs folder.
Note : After Going back to Stock GB 2.3.6 Value Pack the signal is back full and everything works well..
have you tried reverting back to the firmware you were using earlier?

Problem not basband?
Hey guys,
I've got a real noob issue with mine.
It came to me with null imei, and using the tools i have i was fairly sure i knew how to fix it and what was required, except the phone wouldnt take any of the box flashes i was trying to flash to it. It wouldnt take the imei_baseband fix at all. It just kept failing.
So, instead of trying 1 file md5 flash i thought i would try a FULL flash. However, apart from the CSC file i didnt know what order the files went in, so, instead of waiting and researching it, i just guessed. As you guessed it, the phone crapped out, and now i get the recovery error and it will only go to download mode.
These are the names of the files i got:
AP_I9305XXUEMKC_2051278_REV00_user_low_ship_tar.md5
BL_I9305XXUEMKC_2051278_REV00_user_low_ship_tar.md5 ( <--- i assumed this was boot file and left it alone)
CP_I9305XXUEMK1_REV06_CL1247969.tar.md5
THe other files were a CSC named file which i knew where it want and a pit file, which again i know where that goes, its just them 3 above....where do tehy need to go in Odin??
I'd really apprecaite your guys time on this.
Best Regards
