Do you have a carrier branded phone?
If so that might be the problem.

It depends on the branding of your phone. Give it a few days or weeks and the update will arrive. Right now in The Netherlands Vodafone and KPN/Hi-branded devices haven't received the update yet, I'm not sure about the others. T-Mobile NL Skyfall edition is out.

Are you with Unlocked bootloader? In your signature have this text.
Lock your bootloader before update with PcC or Update Service, when you receive notification for update to 4.1.2 on pc.

Since currently your bootloader is unlocked, you're probably rooted as well so just backup all your apps using TitaniumBackup.
Then re-lock, update via PCC, then unlock again, root again, restore all your apps and data via TitaniumBackup
I actually don't understand why you don't want to just flash the available FTF around, no need to go thru the hassle of re-lock/unlock again.

Same here no jelly bean in the UK on none branded T.
o2 UK..
Hi everyone...
I am on o2 in the UK and this arrived today..
Now off to read about the benefits and changes..
Ofiaich
Still nothing on my UK generic XperiaT. Want to get this update asap but don't want to have to start fresh on my phone again as touching very close to my data limit this bill month and I am monitoring it with the android system app which I am sure the stats will be wiped if I flash one of the available FTF files available.
I have flashed jb with flashtool, my friend has same phone and he used as out from sony without root etc. He has still no update from sony. He is also in Netherlands... Its strange that received no update...

The .434 update was released a couple weeks ago, I guess there are different release schedules for every country.
I had my XZ rooted with the locked bootloader method ( goroh_kun's ), and ota updates does not work.
Updated through Sony Bridge for Mac, it works, but the root access was lost. Re rooted it with the same method and it works
Seriously? I still have nothing even on PC companion. I'm on unbranded but use an O2 sim.

Same here, and Three don't even have any forums to ask how long updates should be taking, it's been three weeks now and absolutely nothing.
I knew Sony would be slow with updates but didn't realise I would then have to wait for Three to push it through! Will probably have to wait at least six months to get the 4.2.2 update! lol
Extremely bad customer service from Three so will be leaving them when my contract is up, can't even use Google to search for any helpful information as a company called 'Three' brings up almost every query regardless of network operator :silly:

Well, I haven't had the update and I will probably never get it! In a German forum someone contacted the customer care of my provider (t-mobile Germany) and was told by the tech-support that t-mobile will not roll out the .434 as their techs thought that it would harm the phone more than it actually helped. So they're waiting for the next update...
Dunno if it's true, but I could imagine that it is, as every provider releases their updates differently, so they might skip one as well...
you might wanna check if they do?
I have been checking the website and refreshing pc companion for a while now. No update and i emailed Sony and they gave a generic reply that didnt help .
I dont mind waiting for the OTA, i was just wondering if anyone in the UK had got the update yet?

Sony seem to control their updates by "SI" number (have a look under the back panel of your phone for your 'original' one). The SI number relates to a specific market, i.e. factory unlocked UK, EE UK, Vodafone UK, etc. will all have different SI numbers and all get updates at different times.
The reason you have an update available now where you didn't previously is because the custom ROM you flashed has a different SI number than your original phone came with -- you can verify this by checking your SI number against the one in your build.prop file on the line "ro.semc.version.cust".

Which is different to mine (a factory unlocked UK device). Your choices now are to either wait until your carrier has signed off the latest firmware, at which point the update will show up in SUS and probably on PC Companion too, or you can take matters in to your own hands...
Im livin in germany and I was also on 257 and sus and system said, that Im up to date (o2 provider).
So I decided, to flash the 245 fw manually with the flashtool via pc, cause I didnt want to wait.

yes
As Greg already said - yes.
Branded version is same ROM but without a craps from your carrier.
So, not only you'll be able to flash it without any problems but you'll be very happy when you see that your phone is little bit faster and "cleaner".
Also, if you want to unlock SIM lock (if it's available on your device), you can do that by simple code order via Internet.

I've got the same phone from bell. First thing I did was flash an unbranded ROM. Bell has a few bloat apps that I hate. Best part is if you flash unbranded you don;t need to wait for updates. I got my update through PC Companion the day it was released.

I'm also on Bell with a c6906 and have done exactly what you are asking about and you will be fine. In case you didn't know we can't unlock our bootloader so the fix in 4.3 does not benefit us. Still 4.3 is a great update, loving the phone regardless.

Losing IMEI and SIM not accepted problems happen when you downgrade, not update.
Hi,
I'm kind of lost right now, there's an update 14.2.A.1.136, that started rolling out in 30/01/2014, but until now my phone still on 14.2.A.0.290.
I just want to know if there's a way to test if an update is available in my country or not.
Second question is, if i root my phone, i can have the official updates ?
Try it with the PC Companion
Gesendet von meinem C6903 mit Tapatalk
Well, that was an obvious answer, that's the main problem, pc companion doesn't show that i can update, i tried sony update service, but nothing.
It wasn't my question, i asked about the availability of the update in my country.

It was an obvious answer because it the correct answer. If PCCompanion does not give you an update then your country/carrier has not received the update yet.
"How to know if a new official firmware is released?" The answer is, you see it on PCCompanion.
Not always. Try PC companion, SUS and ota. I have run into instances where PC companion shows nothing but SUS updates the device.

Many many thanks !!!! this is the answer i wanted, btw, no carrier here (Morocco) has the Xperia Z1, a friend of mine bough it, all i remember is that it had a lot of vodafone stuff in it, but it did updates until the 14.2.A.0.290, so i guess it's related to its origin country.
Hi my xperia Z1 has still not updated or given me any notifications. I connected it to PC and checked with sony PC Companion but it is still saying that my phone is updated with the latest version. What should I do?
Thank you
Matt
Which country do you live? And which provider are you on? Do you have a branded or unbranded device? Which model of Z1 do you have( for example: mine is c6903)? Is PC Companion updated to the latest version? As you can read there are many possible factors why your device hasn't got the update yet! Updates are rolled out in phases! You can decide to wait or you can update via flashtool( flash a ftf, no root needed)

I would suggest you manual flashing, my girlfriends Z1 was same branded as mine (Polish orange), I was sick of waiting for update and flashed the global version on my own, she still didn't recieve 4.4.2 update.
I was also scared before flashing firmware, but now am cool n happy with kitkat, imma give you link to my thread about flashing it(am also total noob when comes about phones), its easy-peasy.
