Something interesting that I have noticed, if you put on polarized sun glasses and look at the screen you will notice indentations such as you would see if you pressed down to hard on an lcd screen. This is noticeable especially on a white background. It seems that places where you press harder on the phone such as the sides get more effected. This doesn't go away and can't be seen without polarized glasses
I'm curious if anyone else notices this, just grab a pair of polarized sun glasses and open up a blank white screen on your phone or go to text messages

Doesn't this happen on all LCD's?
Iv looked at my girlfriends galaxy s3, my old HTC EVO 4g I have never ever seen this happened its only visible with a polarized lens. Idk whats different with the n4 but it looks horrible take the glasses of and its as if nothing is there

Might be due to the new in-cell sensor technogy.

Anyone else notice on the right side of HTC one if you turn the phone to it's side you can see some light "leakage"

Not on mine.

I may have a dud then

Mine seems good too. You may want to get it exchanged.

If you are looking at an extreme angle to the right side of the screen you may see a bright line. This is not light leakage. The light is not leaking out.

When I look at the top right corner at just the right angle there is a white dot. Any other angle and it disappears. Thought it could be a stuck pixel, but now I'm not sure.
First HTC One I got had a light leak in lower right corner. Turn phone to the side with screen on, and there was a small rectangularish light spot that shown through the glass edge. It was maybe a couple millimeters wide. Not a big deal.
Got a replacement phone (long story, involves a drop and insurance), and there's no light leak that I saw. Wish I had the old phone for proof.
Whatever the case, with the first phone I could live with it. Wasn't a big deal to me. There's some really minor build quality issues, like my replacement phone (which was a brand new phone, not a refurbish) has a hairline gap between the top metal and the white plastic. Again, nothing really bothersome. It's trivial, and certainly not wide enough to fit anything other than a really thin hair through. So you could take your chances for a replacement, or live with it.
Hey Guys,
I was just curious if anyone else happens to be experiencing this before I take my phone back into AT&T. When my phone is lying flat and I look across the screen I can see a strange light under the top left part of the screen. I cannot see said light when looking at the screen regularly, only when I look across the phone long ways. The screen has a black rim around the phone that causes you not to see it, so you would have to look at an angel.
I don't know what this light is, but my concern is that it would spread, which I'd rather get taken care of now rather than later if there is a defect in the screen.
Thanks,
RPelham
Bump. Can someone please look at their device and confirm whether this is the case for them? Thanks!

is there a way you could take a pic?
I will try tonight.

I have the tmo version but I don't see anything unusual.

If anyone has this issue in the future, it was due to a large gap between the LCD3 screen and the gorilla glass. It caused me to see some of the backlight coming through the edge of the screen. Returned it to ATT today and got a phone which so far is completely flawless.

Mine is really noticeable, but I'm not sure what's normal. Took it to sprint and they claimed it was normal. Mine is pretty visible unless you are viewing dead on. It's almost distracting to the point I think I can see it indoors on white backgrounds. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Haven't used it outside much, but when I do it's better than ANY phone I have ever used outside!
I got my one from best buy, last night I noticed that when the screen is on, on the lower left side part of the screen is a little brighter, it's about half inch in diameter, it seems like the screen is being pressed, bc if I press the screen myself a little lower, it goes away and the same thing happens where im currently pressing. The is also a small bright dot right in the middle of the screen, which also is only noticesable with s black background.
And last thing, I don't know if this is normal, but the touch screen is not accurate at all

All of that is normal. They actually made it like this as a selling point.
Jk. Not normal. Take it back. I have none of those issues.

Lol, I'm just wondering if they will exchange it since it's barely noticible if it's bright outside, and only with a black background, like when a YouTube video is loading or the app drawer

Be prepared to demonstrate the defect and be firm that you want an exchange...

Look up the "burn in" / screen burn in thread. I believe this is your issue. If that is your problem, it is not fixable. All the knowledge you desire is in that thread. Read the first few pages and then skip to the last few pages.

Thanks men, that is my problem, I thought that I only was a problem of plasma Screen. I wont buy amoled again. Thanks for the help.
