OC Voltages!! please! - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I'm using MiUi 4.1.2 with Mackay Kernel and I want to OC it from 1000 to 1200 but it seems my phone has a lot of "auto-reboots" so anyone know's which custom voltages i need to enter in NSTOOLS?
Thanks in advance!
P.S- OC Might harm my SGS?

which vers of Mackay do you use?
I had also a few auto reboots, but after a few days it stops

Overclocking gtab p1000

Hey guys, tried to search for in the forums havent got any luck in finding it. If any of you guys know where the thread for this, please kindly post it here. Thanks
So to my question, at what clockspeed can we overclock our tab without it getting any negative reactions. Meaning, without it busting the battery breaking the tab in whatever way. Had mine overclocked at 1.2ghz. But i want to try it a little more highee.. just want to know if it would be safe.

Seems like no one even cares to answer..

I wouldn't recommend clocking above 1200. At least with the kernel I'm using max clock speed is 1400 and cranking it up to max almost always creates stability issues.
Okay thanks.. my rom allows me to overclock to 1.6ghz. So well wont try it then. Thanks for the response.

I have 1.4ghz stable, i think it depends the kernel with the another kernel I cant get 1.3 gets stable.
Pd: I have the lastest Ronan's kernel for p1000 l/n
How do you overclock your cpu? I have the stock gingerbread, i have rooted with the DoomLord method, i install SetCPU, but the max value is at 1000 Mhz. How can i raise that value to 1200 Mhz?

you need a custom kernel like CM7, Overcome. y you have a latin america tab [P1000N/L] you can use Ronan or Humberos Kernel. in the developement seccion.
Thanks. I will try Overcome Kratos.

Overclocking Onecosmic's ICS RC3

I flashed Onecosmic's ICS RC3 and Have downloaded NStools from market but so far all the frequencies I've tried for Overclocking are not stable. So I was wondering if someone has succeded in overclocking the rom with stability could share their values here. All the stuff, live oc,processor frequency and voltages.
Hi. Have you read this guide ?
why do you want to oc, first wait til there is a stable version of ICS ;-)
Im running Onecosmic's ICS RC3 and allready now its fast

Ya I've read that and I've triead almost all frequencies shbmitted their and i can't get a stable configuration on any of them. And that is for glitch kernel and Onecosmic's RC3 is using Platypus so i thought that maybe I can get some different settings that will work. Anyways, thanx.
Do you have problems with oc only in ICS? Maybe try another kernel! I used RC2.11 with a few different kernels, but a little oc (1200+5%live oc) always worked for me.
I overclocked it to 1460

So from what i understand u have not used live oc and have just oc'ed ur processor?
End result???
So did you finally succeed? I have tried quite a few voltages, and the maximum my phone has stayed up with any OC/Custom voltage setting is a few minutes.

If you are using stock ROM only, refer this:

Thanks, but my rom is custom

Custom roms already have the ability to overclock... Either go under settings or download setcpu.

If your custom doesn't support oc, ask the developer for help lol. Alternatively, you could flash another kernel that supports oc. But you gotta get it right.

I recommend to set the max cpu frequency around 729-806mhz, minimal to 245mhz and SmartAssV2 for the governor. I'ts fast enough and the battery live is good. If you set the cpu frequency to the max, your device will become unstable and the battery drain faster.
I'm just giving recommendations. So, everything is up to you.
(P.S. I'm new on XDA )

First of all, welcome to XDA...
My OC is set at:
Min: 245MHz
Max: 729MHz
Governor: SmartAssV2
IO Scheduler: Deadline
SystemUI and stuff doesn't lag, but large apps lags sometimes but it's acceptable.

Need help with Devil Kernel please...

Hi i am using miui.us jb it comes with the devil kernel and the kernel tool, I tried to use 1200mhz and 120% live oc but the phone later auto reboots and drops the battery from 75% to 18% could anyone please help me with the settings?

Try 110% live OC

i also using MIUI.us ROM and having a same problem as you after i set oc to 120.
event does i set oc back to 100. i solve this by change kernel to semaphore 2.4.0. hope this will help.

Freezes when overclocking.

So there's the problem. If I overclock my phone to 1.2GHz (or 1.4), it freezes at some point when using it (it can freeze on first seconds of booting up or it can freeze after few days). Battery pull is necessary to reboot it, of course. After that it's working agian but there's a question of time when will it freeze again.
Running CM10 stable, Mackay kernel, using NSTools to OC.
Sent from SGS GT-i9000 using magic.
Some phones (like mine) can't handle too much overclock. Most phones can only handle 114% OC to have still stable operation.
Device: GT-i9000
Rom: JB 4.2.1 C-RoM Mix v4
Kernel: Mackay 0.232
Baseband: I9000DXJV9
How do I set the lower value of hertz? Is there any other OC controlling apps for this kernel?
Sent from SGS GT-i9000 using magic.
Sorry, in Mackay kernel the intermediate OC 1100 & 1300MHz were removed by its Developer due to instabilities being experienced by users.
If you want a lower OC, you can use another kernel like Semaphore and Devil.
Device: GT-i9000
Rom: JB 4.2.1 C-RoM Mix v5
Kernel: Mackay 0.232
Baseband: I9000DXJV9
LiveOC or normal? Hardly any SGS handles any more than 114% LiveOC, but if it's not then you might want to try devil kernel for OC stability...

Mine is solid at 124% live oc using semaphore
My semaphore manager app doesn't even let me go past 120%
124%, that's great, but most of what I've seen here and heard from friends makes me think you're one of the lucky exceptions...
Do you adjust voltage?

I used semaphore +nstools without adjusting voltages. Definitely my phone is a lucky exception. It could handle 1.6ghz overclock using glitch kernel (which, sadly, isn't supported anymore)
