E-mail accounts stopped working

After creating 2 e-mail accounts, one for Gmail (IMAP) and one for Outlook (Exchange server), I had them working beautifully for 3 days. Both were connecting and retrieving messages automatically as scheduled.
Then since yesterday they stopped to connect and retrieve messages. And when I try to do it manually (via Send/Receive command), nothing happens except for "Send/Receive" being replaced by "Stop Send/Receive". If I then click on Stop Send/Receive, "Disconnecting..." is displayed forever.
I had this problem previously with my TyTN and it was driving me nuts. Then I thought the problem was gone when I upgraded to the Diamond, but to my surprise my ghost is back!
I'm using the original rom (1.93). Can someone help me, please???

Did you ever find a solution for this problem?? It is haunting me...

why gmail account is just imap in itje's rom ?

hi there.currently i am using itje 4.0 rc1.1.but all itje version 4 roms have same bug i think.my problem is i cant configurate gmail account as pop3.i can just configurate as imap account and when i try to send email i am getting sync error and i cant send email.so how can i fix issue guys.thanks in advance

configure it manually (messaging -> new account) instead of using htc assitant.
anyways, imap works just fine here

To use gmail with imap you got to activate imap in gmailsettings.

yes i tried manual as well when configuration is finished it turns imap.very weird isnt it?any help?

Just activate imap in your acount on the web not on the phone.

yes sending is smtp.gmail.com.it says something like that please check your coverage or make sure your account information is correct.i am hundred percent sure my account settings are correct.i checked 10 times already.it is pissing me off..

Have you tried deleting the account on your phone and adding it again - weird problem - worked for me

yes i did.weird thing is i changed imap.gmail.com to pop,gmail.com and i click next...etc.when i finished all settings i check it again it wasnt pop.gmail.com.it was imap.gmail.com.i am quite sure something is wrong in the rom.pop account is gray-out,it does not allow me to choose pop account.

Try to delete the Inbox map on your SD card if it's there, then you're able to sent email again.

when you deleted the account did you soft reset? that may well solve it.
imap is working fine here with gmail.

not sure why you want to use pop3 instead of imap4? any specific reason?

no i have no reason for pop3 but imap doesn't work properly.i dont understand what is wrong?still it gives same error when i try to send email.i can recive mail but i cant send.

I see, that doesn't guarantee working for pop3 too
Btw, I've been using Gmail mobile (java apps) since it came out, you may want to try it

i never had this problem with offical roms.not a vital issue but it is annoying me.yes gmail java applicatio is very good idea.thanks for reminding me.

Found this, if it helps
Its not an application suggestions, but the author found a "workaround" to get Yahoo Mail working on the stock mail client. I don't think you can get Push from Yahoo Accounts without paying (not too sure, maybe an app will help with this?). But at least you can get your email on your phone with the stock email client and maybe save some space? That or just get GMail.

Hmm, I tested mine out before I posted and I got it to go through. Anyway I can help? Or you just gonna look for an application? When I Google'd.. i saw a "MailDroid" pop up, but idk anything about it.

i didnt read the first part. it works thanx for the help. the first part said that wifi has to be off will it work only on edge/3G or will it also work on wifi? any how its setup. thanx
EDIT: ok i answered my own question lol, it wont work on wifi, only with 2g/3g data connection

MailDroid will work over wifi though for yahoo. I am the dev, but try it out...it is on slideme and the marketplace.

Go for K-9 Mail. It's in hte Market. It handles Yahoo mail very well and has tons of features.

Yahoo released a Mail app and it is available in market.

[Q] email account help

Ever since i flashed this one rom it deleted the stock email so nbd i just added the blur email back from a deodex file and everything was working again. But now i really need my college email on my phone in combination with my already existing one. So i went to go add another account it says "unable to connect to server" i must have tried it a thousand times but i keep getting the same error. I even tried changing pop3 to imap or whatever its called. I also tried ssl security changes tooo. I dont know whats going. Hopefully u guys do! Thanks

No offense, but it sounds as if you are either entering the account info incorrectly or you don't have a data connection. If this you are sure these two things are correct, I would try downloading a different (free) email app and try again just to rule that out.

I mean.. obviously the account info is correct im not dumb.. haha its my college email account and everytime i try to add it it says cant connect to server. Like i tried downloading that k-9 amail app and it says the same thing! Cant connect to server like i have no idea. Oh well. I appreciate ur response

What happens if you try to enter the same info on a new mail app on your computer, such as Thunderbird?
If you are getting a message that says that you cannot connect to the mail server, perhaps you are spelling the name of the mail server incorrectly, or you are not specifying the correct port number? Or you are entering the user name incorrectly (some servers require that you enter the user id part of the email address, some require the full email address as the user name).

[Q] Search Button using Pop3 on stock email app

Hi,
Need some help! using the stock email app with a pop3 account from my job, I can´t see the search button! I have tons of email and need to search all the time! it´s a bug or the stock email app doesn´t have search? Downloaded the version for Nexus Devices and the problem persists!
Any help?

I have Exchange and IMAP loaded in the app, and it works fine with searching. Not sure with POP.
